We escaped the Sonoran desert heat and enjoyed exploring hilltops and mountains of Northern AZ. We spent our days doing outings and our afternoon/evenings in the comfort and convenience of a cabin with plenty of amenities.
Clean, cozy, well-stocked with movies and games. Best of all, GREAT location in the woods but still close to downtown Flagg and really close to Snowbowl. My kids loved playing in the woods here, we will be back soon.
First the location; the 'cabin' butts up against a beautiful meadow with a stunning view of the San Francisco Peaks. Very clean, upscale homey touches throughout, comfortable bed. So quiet and relaxing, I didn't want to leave.
My friends and I came up here for the weekend and had an exceptional time! Zero issues and Rachel made everything very easy and simple to follow. I will definitely consider coming to stay here again!
This house is so awesome! We rent VRBOs every year, and everyone agreed this was the best house ever. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, and even has a garage for your car. Kitchen is fully stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. The best part is outside though. You’re literally at the end of the last road, nothing behind the house but National Forest land. You can walk out of the house and keep going for miles. Our kids loved it, no shortage of forts and ammo for pine cone battles. Home owner was great, helpful and very responsive. Thanks again, we had a great time in Flagstaff!!!

Beautiful, peaceful location in a lovely comfy cabin.
This was a fantastic place to get a way for a quiet time in the woods. Could not ask for a better location to relax and get away from it all. From a nice walk in the woods to sitting on one of the patios enjoying the breeze in the trees and listening to the birds. We also watched a lot of movies on the comfortable furniture. And it is a short drive to Flagstaff and all the activities it has to offer.

Love the access to hiking and Mountain View
Clean, cozy, everything is wonderful. My only ask is the refrigerator fan sounds awfully loud and would recommend fixing that. Otherwise so peaceful.
The location was perfect for us! Close enough to everything we wanted to see and do, but not too close to all the hustle and bustle of Flagstaff. It was so quiet & peaceful! We enjoyed watching the different species of birds, chipmunks, and squirrels at the feeder the first day, but it quickly ran out and didn’t see much after that. We also enjoyed being able to walk in the woods just behind the cabin. We packed our lunch each day & fixed dinner when we arrived in the evening. This was so much better than staying in a hotel room!! I suggest getting groceries prior to getting into Flagstaff. We packed freezer bags in our checked luggage and stopped just outside of Phoenix (North side) on our way.
If anyone is on the shorter side, please be cautious of the deep bath tub. Make sure to use the handles! They are there for a reason. 😁 My mother (5’2) fell getting out the first day. Thank goodness she was just sore and only bruises!! 🙏 I myself (5’8) used the handles as well when exiting. That first step is a doozy! 😆
Wonderful and convenient cabin to stay at whether you’re just going to Flagstaff, or visiting all the surrounding areas.

NICE BUT WASN'T HAPPY WITH EXPERIENCE
This cabin is nice and it is secluded back in the woods. But it is hard to get to when it snows. A car CAN'T get back there only a 4x4 truck or suv. This was not told in the description at all and it said that the road is plowed. Well the road is plowed up to a certain point then after that it is plowed, with a hand plower, by a neighbor. I understand that when it snows you don't have control of the roads but it would have been nice if we had the heads up that only trucks can get back there. We planned this trip with our kids to go skiing and have a great weekend spending time as a family. Our kids are all in their early 20's so it's not easy planning trips with school and work. Well my kids couldn't make it back there and they had to go back home. My father-in-law came out from New Mexico and tried to drive the street in his car and got stuck. We then got him out after dealing with this for 3-4 hours the first night and the next morning we were able to get him out. We then had him park on the side of the street that day to try and figure out what to do. Well in the meantime someone called the cops and they were trying to tow it and give us a ticket. So our trip consisted of not spending valuable time with our family, which was not our fault, no skiing, dealing with cops, and trying to get a car out of the street. This was one of the worst vacations I have ever had. If we were told by the owner that the street was really bad in the winter we probably would have still gone but we would have had another plan. I did email the owner about the street and letting her know what we went through and I never received a response. This is poor customer service and I would not never rent from her again. If you go in the winter be aware as you won't be able to get to the cabin by car. Not a satisfied customer what so ever.
This cabin rental was the perfect weekend getaway. Very clean, spacious, and welcoming with all the amenities of home. It is nestled up against forest preserve land so you get the nice feeling of seclusion while not being too far from all the amenities of town. All at a very affordable price too! We will definitely be staying again.
We totally enjoyed our stay in the cabin in the woods. Great hiking and a short distance to some excellent restaurants. It is our top choice for next time in Flagstaff.
Cabin in the woods is just as described,Seems far more remote than it actually is. So quiet and beautiful, a short walk to the meadow revealed 5 elk grazing one evening. Cabin was clean and comfortable with many extras we didn’t expect, a frig with condiments and a nicely slicked cabinet with spices, tea, sweeteners which saved multiple trips to the grocery for items that you only need a little of. Made food prep a breeze. Just 75 miles from Grand Canyon and close to many other national monuments and attractions along Historic Route 66. Seamless check in .a great trip thank you Rachel
The property was lovely and just as pictured. We enjoyed hiking through the forest and doing one of the jigsaw puzzles. It was the perfect respite to wind down from 6 days full of energy and activities in Sedona.
We loved the location of the cabin tucked away in the forest, but a quick drive into Flagstaff. It was extremely clean, had comfortable furnishings and lots of personal touches. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals. We enjoyed hiking on the trails near the property and sitting out on the shady porch in the evenings.
WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE LOCATION/LAYOUT OF THE PROPERTY. IT WAS PERFECT FOR THE 3 OF US AND RACHEL WAS EASY TO COMMUNICATE WITH EVEN THOUGH THERE HAD BEEN WILDFIRES IN THE AREA WHICH WAS A CONCERN AT THE TIME. WOULD DEFINITELY CHOOSE THIS PROPERTY AGAIN IF IN THE AREA!
We had a great time at this property. Nice, quiet cabin in the ponderosa pines. We used this as our home port for going to places like the Grand Canyon and the petrified forest national park.
The cabin is gorgeous and the snowy forest surrounding it is so scenic. It feels remote while being only 10 minutes away from downtown Flagstaff. Only an hour away from the grand canyon. The perfect blend of seclusion and easily accessible tourist activities like shopping and dining. We will definitely be back.
This was our second visit this year being a smidgen warmer than last. Everything was perfect the same as our first visit. The woods did not disappoint which we went a little deeper into this time and plenty of fun for our kids. We all found walking sticks and explored till our hearts content, walking among the deer which were plentiful. This time around we opted for not going into town and instead got away completely from society for a few days this being so nestled perfectly in the woods that we saw not one person the entire time. A++++ will return for a 3rd visit in the future for sure. a property we wish we could own.

Our family includes two children and a chocolate lab. My husband is a native to Arizona and has grown up hunting and fishing in and around Flagstaff and loves the area’s vegetation and wildlife. I love the charm of Flagstaff after attending NAU for part of college and growing up skiing at Arizona Snowbowl.
Why they chose this property
We bought this cabin as a retreat for our family in the woods to escape the desert heat and the crowds in Phoenix. We found this area of Flagstaff over 13 years ago and loved it. We were so thrilled this year to be able to find a home in the same area to purchase as our family retreat. The close proximity to skiing/hiking, peacefulness of the large wooded lot and short drive to downtown Flagstaff makes it ideal.
