Romantic cottages with lovely pool, winding pathways amid lush tropical gardens.
This charming cottage is located in grounds of a well established Mediterranean garden with olive and almond trees, which also provide shade and coolness during the summer months. Steps leading up to the pool with lighting for a perfect summer nights dip and patio with magnificent views across to the cliffs of Gibraltar and Africa. It is located on the 'Puerto de la Cruz' property on a slope in a forested valley of mountainous limestone only five minutes walk from the white village of Casares. Casa Ceramica is within a short distance of the beach, Gibraltar and if you care to venture further for cultural interests Ronda, Jerez, Seville, Granada and Cadiz.

This was the best way to enjoy a relaxing time with gardens and pool but also a great jumping point to explore surrounding areas. Great way to spend 3 weeks. Great communication with the owner.
My wife and I spent the first four days of our trip to Spain in September 2019 at the small cottage. We chose this rental because we didn't want a busy touristy location. We wanted to see more of a small village and the residents as opposed to other visitors.
The directions provided by the owner were helpful and we found the cottage easily. Shirley met us and had thoughtfully provided us with some basic groceries so we didn't have to rush out shopping. Our first evening was spent outside relaxing, enjoying a bottle of wine provided and enjoying the views of the vultures soaring in front of us. It might sound odd, but we spent hours during our stay just watching the vultures gliding or seeing to their young on the cliffs right across from us.
We would often walk into town and explore the narrow cobblestone streets and restaurants. One day we came across an old Spanish woman singing away as she mopped her front entrance. This is the real Spain.
We also drove 20 minutes to the beach where there were plenty of people and restaurants. From this cottage you can see different parts of Spain so if you want to get away from the crowds like we do, then this is a great spot provided you like walking. Some of the streets can be steep for someone not used to walking or unsteady.
The pool looked inviting, but it wasn't hot enough to tempt us for a swim during our stay. In the summer I imagine it would be a nice place to relax during the day.
The cottage is small and the kitchen basic so we spent most of our time sat outside on the patio. We would have breakfast and then lunch or dinner at the cottage and the other meal at a local restaurant.
We enjoyed ourselves and would certainly return on another trip.

Best spot in Casares
Shirley and Brian são muito simpáticos e foram bastante prestáveis. A casa é muito bonita, limpa e bem equipada e tem uma localização privilegiada, com uma vista deslumbrante sobre o vale o mar. Aconselho 100% a estadia na Casita.

Delightful property
The Casita was perfect for us. Communication was excellent with helpful directions to reach the accommodation. Shirley lives in the large house and rents out two smaller houses which share the gardens and pool. The location is superb and the views are stunning across a narrow gorge inhabited by griffon vultures which soar really close by. The peace is wonderful yet it is an easy walk to the top of Casares. We tended to take the car to the free multistorey car park in the village in order to avoid walking up and down the the many steps in the village. Although Shirley, the owner, was away when we arrived she had left an excellent welcome pack - coffee, milk, bread, ham, bacon, eggs, fruit, beer, wine etc as well as basics such as olive oil, pasta, salt & pepper etc. Indeed, we did not need to buy any of the basics that are so often lacking in holiday rentals. The kitchen was very well equipped and had all one could need for cooking and this is what we tended to do - have lunch out in Casares, on the coast or in one of the very good restaurants on the main road out of the village and eat in at night enjoying the quiet with the occasional hooting of the resident eagle owl which we saw in its daytime hideaway.
The bedroom was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and everything in the casita was immaculate. Although the weather was changeable in September we still managed to use the lovely pool most days. The only slight disappointment was that the sun left the casita terrace by early afternoon although it remained on the pool for longer. We noticed that the terrace at the main house, also for rent, was in sunshine for longer but did not have such a good view of the families of vultures.
All in all we were very impressed with the quality of the accommodation and the area in general and would certainly recommend it for people who enjoy peace and quiet yet who want to be within easy reach of the coast and spectacular countryside and white villages.

herrliches ruhiges Fleckchen
Wir hatten eine traumhafte Zeit in der Casa Ceramica.
Ruhe, Erholung, wunderschöner Ausblick, liebe Vermieter, schnuckeliges & geschmackvolles Cottage mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht,.....
