About this property
The Paterstöckl – Your Private Little House in the Heart of Salzburg’s Old Town
The Paterstöckl is your very own little house in the heart of Salzburg’s historic Old Town, just 100 meters from the Cathedral and 500 meters from the Festival Hall. A listed heritage building, it was fully renovated in 2016.
You will be staying at the Paterstöckl, a house that is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. This lovingly revitalized historic town house offers approx. 150 m² of living space and is located in a prime location, just 100 meters from Salzburg Cathedral, directly at the foot of Hohensalzburg Fortress. The house was completely refurbished in 2016 and is one of the few buildings in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town that offers modern living comfort. The building features two separate entrances and two residential units, which are connected internally by a lockable door. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms available, accommodating up to 6 guests.
The Living Space
The smaller apartment is located on the ground floor, with its entrance on the front side of the house (facing Domplatz and Kapitelplatz). It is internally connected via a staircase and a lockable door to the larger apartment on the upper and attic floors. All furnishings, including bathroom and kitchen, are new. The apartment features underfloor heating and high-quality, wide natural wood floorboards (please no street shoes inside). Layout of the smaller apartment:
Entrance hall (9 m²)
Open-plan kitchen with dining and living area (25 m²)
1 bedroom with a double bed (10 m²)
1 bathroom (5 m²)
The larger apartment is located on the upper and attic floors, with its entrance on the rear side of the house (also at ground level due to the slope of the hill where the Fortress begins). It is internally connected to the smaller apartment via a staircase and a lockable door. All bathrooms and the kitchen are new. The entrance hall features terrazzo flooring; in the living and sleeping areas, there are a mix of new and carefully restored historical natural fir wood floorboards (please no street shoes in the living areas). Layout of the larger apartment:
Entrance hall (6 m²)
Kitchen with dining area (11 m²)
Spacious living room (30 m²)
2 bedrooms with one double bed each (19 m², 35 m²)
2 bathrooms (6 m², 3 m²)
Additional Amenities:
Wi-Fi, coffee machine, TV, washing machine, bed linen, towels, toilet paper, soap, hair dryer, dish towels, iron, smoke detector. Kitchens are fully equipped with dishes, cutlery, glasses, pots, etc.
The building is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Centre of Salzburg" and was renovated from the ground up in 2016 under strict heritage preservation guidelines. Here, you are staying in the center of Salzburg’s medieval ensemble while enjoying modern living comfort.
Please Note:
The Paterstöckl is located in a pedestrian zone. There is no parking available, and private vehicles are not permitted to drive to the house. However, a taxi can bring you within 50 meters of the property.
