This was a great place for a family escaping the heat of the flatlands. We are grateful! The local markets are especially nice. We also took advantage of the Oeste Vista trail--recommend!
I had a really nice time staying here with my parents, sister, and her family over the New Year holiday. The house is very cozy, and I thought that it was even more comfortable in person that it appeared in the photos. I also liked the family mementos around the cabin.
Communication with the host was great, and the location is very accessible to the Angel Fire resort.
I was concerned about the televisions in the property photos being super bowl weekend, but we arrived to find large new smart TV's. The property was very clean and inviting upon arrival. Good WiFi. The property is rustic in a good way. When I picture a mountain cabin, this is it. It is a good house for a larger group. The beds were comfortable, and the living room furniture was soft and cozy. Awesome way to relax after a long day skiing. Great property, we will definitely be a repeat guest.

Great but one major problem
Could you please have Mark email me. I'd like to request a discount due to the refrigerator stopped working on the final day and we had to leave early. Thanks. Charlie.
The host was very communicative both via VRBO and via text when we had a question. We chose the property because he allowed us to bring our small dogs, which many other properties wouldn't allow. The property was easy to access and in a great location in the Angel Fire Resort area. We can't speak to ease of accessing ski lifts as we came during the summer. Very close to the local grocery store and to the resort restaurants. The photos on the listing don't do the place justice. The log structure is very secure and kept the inside cool during the day. The porch was great to sit and enjoy the breeze. We didn't cook while we were there (we ate with friends at their place) but the kitchen seemed to have the necessary accessories, though you need to bring all your own food items (like oil, salt etc) and drinking water, as expected. The flooring is mostly carpet, would be great if they swapped that out for solid flooring (upstairs bath has carpet), especially given they allow dogs. The bunk beds upstairs are neat, though the top doesn't have railings so not suitable for young children. The wifi worked great. This place sleeps at least 8 people comfortably, perfect for large groups. Would also recommend more lighting outside as it was quite dark taking dogs out after sundown. Bring a strong flashlight if you plan to walk around after dark. Washer / dryer in unit was awesome to have for a week long stay. Thanks for hosting us!
This cozy cabin had a great family vibe. It was walking distance from the resort. The host communicated well and provided amenities for our pets. This property is a definite repeat return.
It was wonderful! It snowed on Christmas 🎄 Eve and there was deer all over and grandkids were excited hollering reindeer reindeer! I told them Santa is close and he is checking to see if you are being good or bad. It was a great get away for us.
We had a great experience! This cabin is very convenient to the slopes! Grocery store very close by and ski rental shops. Great communication with owner, would definitely stay here again!

The Dusty Cabin
The cabin is located in a great location, just minutes from the lift. The inside needs some renovation. The flooring and furnishings are very outdated, dirty/stained, and need replaced. The kitchen is outdated as well, but functional.
Went there to ride mountain bikes, enjoyed staying at this cabin. Close to the lift and in a quiet area, every morning and evening we had Mule deer in the yard just yards away from us. The cabin itself was great, a little outdated but it served the purpose. Would stay there again if had the chance,
The cabin is beautiful, great location, had a lot of deer visiting everyday.

place is as advertised
After reading the review, we went into this knowing that the place would be outdated, yet clean with comfortable beds. Location is prime: moderate walking distance to ski area and grocery store. But unfortunately as a rental little is afforded to the customer. The place was musty and dusty. There were no kitchen dish towels availible and the bathroom linens were very old, to the point of being tattered. Aside from the one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, there was no more to be found. The same happened with the kitchen trash: only one bag and found no replacements. Although this was advertised as rustic for the price of the rental fee I think a customer could expect a clean enviroment with basic ammenities. (soap, shampo, wine/beer glasses, updated linens, fully stocked supplies). This place has potential, great location and setting, it's up to the owner to make the changes.
What a gem! We didn't have to leave the cabin except to watch fireworks. There was so much to explore and do. We played ping pong, frisbee golf, looked at the full moon through the telescope and cooked out with the grill! Its worn but super clean and the beds were so comfy! We had two families with seven kids total ranging from 3 to 15! They loved playing croquet, clue and monopoly! The 8track player didnt work, too bad because the collection is so amazing! Overall we had a blast and can not wait to return!!
See you next time and thank you for the fun!
