This is our family’s second time coming to stay with Margaret at the Green Roof Chalet, and we absolute love our time spent together here. The chalet has such a classic cozy feel to it with the wood burning fireplace and the sauna and huge soaker tub make for a wonderful way to unwind after a day on the hill. The view of mountains and ocean from the chalet make for breathtaking sunrises and sunsets and the beds are plentiful and comfy for a large group! The location is super close to the parking lot making for a very easy load in/out a process, still with ski out capabilities to the sunrise chair. Our Host Margaret was very easy to communicate with, quick to reply and provide updates about possible occurances on the mountain during our stay. We will certainly be coming back next year for our family vacation!
We had the up most beautiful time at the chalet. Memories that will last a life time. Chalet is clean, cozy and very comfortable. Everything you could ask for. Thankyou so much.
The first impression when we arrived was not what we expected, the outside of the house seemed a little run down and paths to house were very overgrown with weeds. Once inside the house it was much better, very clean and well kept, but a little musty which I guess is to be expected with the age of the place. The parking was a little walk uphill, which was fine, we just dropped everything at the door and then went and parked. The garbage disposal instructions was extremely confusing, we didn’t find the garbage bins until the last day but only with help of a neighbour. That being said, we probably would rebook if needed.
We were on the mountain for a close family member wedding.
It was nice there were no scary surprises and it seemed the host thought of everything - as we needed very little to make our multi night stay a success.
We went to Mount Washington to enjoy the seafood festival. Four couples went. The house was just as described and our property manager was exceptional. She phoned me the night before to ensure I was comfortable with check in and out procedures. She called the afternoon to ensure check in had gone seamlessly. The lodge was super stocked with everything we needed, including welcoming coffee and cream. Would definitely recommend and stay there again. We all had a great time
We were happy with the accommodation - five adults, plenty of space, well-equipped kitchen. The sauna was well-used - even a couple of bodies in their swim suits out on the deck enjoying the contrast of warmth and cold.
We had some trouble with the wood stove, we had brought kindling from my woodpile at home, and the wood from the crawlspace seemed dry, so it was a bit of a puzzle that there was so much smoke generated. Maybe the 'draft' is not working.
All in all a very pleasant stay. Would recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this large ski hill cabin. The rooms are large, the beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked, and the location is gorgeous! We slept 10 with room to spare! We loved warming up in the large sauna after a day in the snow and the kids loved the large whirlpool bathtub.
The property was just as the owner described. Really appreciated the personal contact with the owner and the information about the local conditions. It was a lovely touch to have a few food items welcoming us to the property. Recommended!!
There were 9 of us who stayed in the cabin and it was perfect for all of us. We didn’t feel like we were on top of each other and the sauna was well used. The beds were all good (they were on the firm side) and it was perfectly located to get to the lodge and most chair lift. The write up is very accurate.
We had a wonderful time on our ski vacation here. The house was well located, close to parking to bring in all our food, but also possible to ski to and from. Room to accommodate a couple of families, and lots of fun to be had even with just the snow around the house. Host was responsive and we had a great time.
Our stay at your place was very comfortable. The Chalet was very cosy, well laid out and open for our group of 10. We loved the large jacuzzi tub which was great to come home to after being out on the slopes. And the Sauna was a godsend. The bedrooms which were upstairs were very comfortable and cozy. The owner was very quick to respond when needed. Location to the parking lot was very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay!
Property was large and lots of space for sleeping. Common room and kitchen was a bit tight if you were to have a full house. Beds were comfortable and the sauna was nice. I would have appreciated knowing that there was NOTHING in the kitchen as far as supplies. Typically when the cabinets are bare of basics it tells you to bring everything. We didn’t bring sugar so had to go all the way in to courtenay which took about an hour. We’ve stayed in a lot of places lately and this one by far was the poorest set up in the kitchen and bathrooms. No soaps (except dish soap) no shampoo/conditioner, no real care put into bedding. There were no parking passes left for us and we got a note on our car. The telephone number that was left had 3 too many digits so I had to try and figure out her number, eventually I got it correct.
I forgot my pillow at the chalet and have still not heard back from the owner, after 3 voice mails left. Very poor contact if any concerns.
We had a great time but if a little bit more care would be put into the place it would make a huge difference in the guest experience.
