About this property

4 Bedroom, 4 Bath Remodeled Historical Home Located On Lake Minocqua

Come for the cool summers and enjoy all that Minocqua and the Northwoods has to offer. Fishing, swimming, sunning, boating, shopping and relaxing are just a few things you can expect when you lease our wonderful historic home right on Lake Minocqua and the 6,000 acre chain of 4 lakes.

Home was built for Casey Lambert, who was quite a character, (see more information below) in 1906 and has been totally updated.

You can walk to town and the 17 mile hiking, biking and walking Bearskin Trail is nearby. Experience the excellent dining opportunities in the area or kick back, cook out and stay home.

Two large screened porches overlook the lake and our permanent dock where you can tie up at least 3 boats. Kitchen is equipped with every thing you need and all rooms are large and charming.

We are located on over an acre level lot with towering white and red pine trees that are at least 100 years old. Also the private road offers peace and quiet. There is 215' of shoreline with sandy lake bottom. We face Southeast so if the sun is shining, we get it all day!

Two bicycles and two kayaks are available for your use. Plenty parking available.

Come listen to the loons, watch the eagles soar, and create your memories. We know you will love it!

Unique gem on lake country

The home was charming and unique. The home is stocked with absolutely everything you would need which is uncommon in rentals. Fully socked kitchen, bathrooms with hair dryers, shampoo and plenty of towels. Bug spray, beach towels and lots of games. We had our own dock for our rental boat. The owners Betty and Al went above and beyond. They even took my elderly father fishing! Wonderful stay that exceeded all expectations.

Superior Property

Thank you Bettie and Al for sharing your beautiful, historic home with us. The property was like having a private resort with a large boat dock perfect for multiple boats, kayaks, and bikes. The house was very large and everyone was able to find a space with a strong WiFi that allowed 5 in our group to work remotely. The house was fully stocked from games to puzzles to every small appliance available including a waffle maker and a Panini press. We felt lucky to have found the listing.

Gorgeous Minocqua getaway

Family and friends from Florida, California, and Illinois rented this beautiful home for the month of September. We have stayed in the are several times, but this was the first time staying at Al and Bettie’s lovely home. We enjoyed bike riding, puzzles on the beautiful porch, local shopping, Friday night fish fry at The Four Seasons, and boating on the Minocqua River. Al and Bettie were gracious hosts and always available to help if needed or answer questions about the area. The house was beyond well equipped- kitchen, bathrooms, entertainment (games, puzzles, toys, books, movies) Plenty of room to spread out, comfortable beds, lovely outdoor area…so much to love about this property! Highly recommend it for adults and families!

A slice of heaven on Lake Minocqua

We grew up in Minocqua and so when we wanted to come back to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary, I was blessed to find this property. I cannot say enough about the beauty of this house. It was perfect for our family and was so historical! The location is perfect. We had the absolute best week! Aside from the amazing property we cannot say enough about the owners Bettie and Al! What wonderful kind people. From the minute we met them we were treated like family. They made us feel so welcome and opened their beautiful home with open arms. The day we left we felt like we had made new friends and they will be missed terribly! Thank you Bettie and Al for one of the best vacations we have ever had. We are forever grateful to you both!!!!

Best Lakeside Vacation Ever

This lakeside historic home was one of the most amazing properties we have ever stayed in. It was very spacious for the 9 of us staying there and felt wonderfully cozy at the same time. We loved all the vintage elements and cool décor. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed family time visiting on the porches and on the dock soaking up the sun. Bettie and Al were the perfect hosts - not only did they ensure we had everything we needed, Al spent countless hours with my husband on the finer points of fishing. We are still talking about what great time we had and we cannot wait to return. Thanks so much Bettie and Al!

A Little Piece of Heaven

Al and Bettie were amazing and fun to be around. They opened their beautiful home to my wife and I and our entire family and friends. The lake home was roomy, beautifully decorated and well equipped with anything anyone could ask for in a vacation home. The access to water with the spacious dock and boat slips made for a perfect place to ski, fish and enjoy a dockside snack or cocktail. We really enjoyed the property with visits from the neighborhood deer each morning. We also had a very close encounter with a pair of bald eagles that was an amazing experience. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Great Family Time!

Bettie and Al are gracious hosts and their home is absolutely lovely. We had a great time, there is a ton of space and plenty of room to spread or better yet gather around the tables for games or meals. The porch is divine! Loved the history of the place, and the stories we heard. Cannot wait for our next stay!

Beautifully maintained vintage estate

My wife and I spent 10 days at this property in July. It is a spectacular vintage log cabin style home which has been beautifully maintained. The location is perfect as it is close to town but still private and secluded. The home is spacious and well decorated with fabulous authentic Northwoods charm and artifacts. The grounds are perfect for relaxing by the lake, playing bocce ball or horse shoes, or even swinging on a private swing set. The pier is massive and can dock as many as 3 boats. Having grown up here, I am confident that this home represents true Northwoods luxury. The owner is passionate about the home and is committed to maintaining it in pristine condition, and it deserves respect as it is truly a historic home that could never be duplicated.

Host profile image
Al and I live in Dallas and fell in love with Minocqua about 3 years ago after vacationing in the Northwoods to escape the summer heat of Texas. We are both still working which is the reason we are making our home available for summer lease. Al is an engineer and after retirement he started an executive search firm (EPC Combine) with a partner. I retired after owning a real estate company for 25+ years and am a Realtor with Ebby Halliday Company. We love all the wonderful things about the area and plan to spend as much time there as possible with our children, grandchildren and friends.

Why they chose this property

This is the former home of Casey Lambert, a legend in the area whose friends and guests included Charles Lindberg, Elizabeth Taylor and President Dwight Eisenhower. Marvel at the beauty of Lake Minocqua, a destination for generations for families from all around the world.

A classic log home, once the guest lodging of the Lambert Estate, icons of the Roberto Lambert legacy Listerene fame. Home built in the early 1900's offers character rarely found. It's owners have dedicated themselves to maintaining the elegance of a previous era while upgrading with every modern convenience. Stately logs harvested from the forests surround updated kitchen and bathrooms, Wrap around porches, fire pit and play area for the younger ones are just a few of the amenities. The deck on the 3 boat dock allows a spot for enjoying family and friends out on the water.

Casey and his friends of old entertained the elite with elegant garden parties, unique water toys and behavior which is still talked about.

What makes this property unique

We chose this property after looking each time we visited the area. Some I loved and Al didn't, some he liked and I couldn't stand! When we walked into this home we both said 'this is it'. It has everything we both wanted; starting with an oversized 3 car garage with craft room for me and work area for Al. It also has a floored second story providing wonderful storage which could be converted into a game room or bunk area for grandchildren. The guest house is adorable, the large lot is beautiful and private. The character of the house is perfect for us and something we were seeking with its open dining room/living room, 2 fireplaces, wood floors, screened porches overlooking the lawn and lake. Kitchen is very up to date as well and the bathrooms. Basement has spot to build wine cave to house 1300 bottles! Perfect for us!
