The comfort of home but away from the Hussle and bussle of home life. The hot tub had an amazing view. The firpit was a great end to an awesome hike. Wished I could have enjoy the view from the upper deck but we ran out of time.

Wonderful Cabin

We would definitely recommend staying here. Cute cabin with hot tub with privacy. The owners added personal, thoughtful touches to stay-fresh eggs from their farm, handwritten thank you note, sign with our name on it. The owners were very accommodating and easily reachable. One thing I would note, not that it was bad-no one bothered us and we didn’t bother anyone-but it is not as secluded as I thought it would be. There are neighbors on both sides. We had an extremely relaxing time. We mostly stayed at the cabin. Little Italy Pizza was awesome! I would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay. We went back to our home state of Ohio for my brothers wedding and the cabin had all we needed and the owners were so accommodating! We will keep this on our list of places to go back to for sure!

Great little place!

The cabin is so great,cozy and in a great location to all the outdoor adventures. We loved our weekend here with everything from the hot tub on the covered porch to the fire pit right outside and the gas fireplace inside. We would definitely stay again!

Anniversary

This is a very nice property, nice and clean no doubt about that the floors shined. I don’t think I have stayed in a property for a while that felt that homey and clean. Pictures are what you can expect. The owner are great to work with and Heather was even nice enough to leave us some os her wonderful farm fresh eggs. Thank you so much for that and the wonderful card. They left us chemicals for the hot tub which we appreciated also, that told us it is well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again.

Cozy Cabin

We stayed at this cabin to participate in the Mammoth March at Burr Oak. The location was convenient to our hike and to the lodge. We absolutely loved having a hot tub to soak our sore bodies in. The cabin was clean and tastefully decorated. The welcome sign, fresh eggs & card were all nice touches & much appreciated. We would definitely recommend this cabin. Thank you for your hospitality!!

My favorite cabin thus far!

We loved this property and everything about it. They have a little bit of everything when it comes to the little things needed. We love burr oak lake too. Weather was great both days for swimming.

Overall nice weekend getaway

The cabin was exactly as it was described. They had everything that we needed and the owner was great at communicating. The only thing we didn’t care for was how close it was to other houses however that being said it was a quiet neighborhood. It was very close to the lake and trail riding for our sxs. Parking is a little small for 2 vehicles but they allowed us to park in the grass. Overall great cabin for a weekend getaway.

Cozy cabin

Very cozy cabin in a quite setting. Neighbors are close to the fire pit, but we never saw them. The fresh eggs were a great touch, and the welcome to the family sign was nice as well. I would stay again.

Great Burr Oak Cabin

I have stayed at different rentals near Burr Oak State Park in the past, and this is by far the nicest that I have found. The cabin was modern and very clean. The hot tub was great and the fireplace was perfect on a cool evening. I will be back again.

Perfect Cabin Getaway

This was exactly what we needed! My boyfriend and I loved the hot tub and fire ring, and our son loved climbing up into the loft. We also appreciated it being pet friendly at such a reasonable price. The extra little touches make the place even more welcoming, including games and puzzles, candles, and fresh eggs in the fridge. Some things I thought worth mentioning: the pictures make it seem a little bigger than it is. We found it perfectly cozy, but families bigger than four may feel cramped, depending on your style. There is a neighboring house visible from the fire ring, and some general lake sounds (plus an occasional rooster!) that we heard, but overall very secluded and peaceful. It is in the hills, so the yard didn't include a lot of level ground-just something to keep in mind for kids/pets/anyone with an issue with a few stairs. Definitely a great place to stay if you're looking to participate in outdoor activities. We went on a gorgeous hike and took a canoe from the nearby marina out on the lake. We would absolutely stay again!

I'm glad I stumbled upon this cabin. It was perfect for what we were looking for, for wanting a quick weekend getaway. Check in went smoothly and loved that they included so much kitchen cookware and use of a gas grill. I'd stay here again if ever in this area!

We really loved our stay this weekend. It’s such a nice little cozy cabin with a great forest view. Everything you could possibly need is there! Towels, rags, pots pans, dishes, spices, even toiletries! So you can pack lightly. Communication was great with the owner, hot tub was beautiful ,clean, and crystal clear. It’s just a few minute drive from the marina and Burr Oak Lodge. Everyone had a lovely time! I would recommend this property!!

Currently a network tech from Athens, OH. Grew up in the area and enjoy Burr Oak State Park.

Why they chose this property

We wanted our own cozy place to get away and thought while we are not using it we can let others enjoy the space. We resurrected this little cabin in the summer of 2012. With a complete remodel including upgraded electric, plumbing, added a master bedroom and engineered a bonus loft space that gives the cabin a beautiful, open feeling. It's been a fun project and we are continually tweaking and upgrading. From the red oak mantle and hickory beams, to the cherry and walnut custom ladder up to the loft, there are elements in this cabin that cannot be found at any other cabin. A lot of time, energy and love was put into building this home.
