Big screen deck just 25 feet from Long Pond, one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in central Maine. Private cottage with your own private dock and swim float. NOT part of a resort or former resort. End of road privacy, no through traffic. Located at the end of a long and undeveloped Maine gravel road. Our cottage is perfect for kayaking, swimming, lake relaxing and dog walking in peace and quiet! We are located on the south portion of this famous lake, and you can take in one of the nicest views on the lake from our large enclosed screen porch just 25 feet from the shore. This cottage features a master bedroom with attached half-bath, and a lakeside bedroom with a king bed that can be converted to two twin beds. We are full time professional hosts who source, build, own, design and create every inch of our properties to create a unique and comfortable stay for our guests. No dealing with "managers" and owners who don't take rentals seriously and don't respond to messages or concerns. We allow most breeds of dogs for a modest fee. This cottage offers all the privacy and amenities you are looking for in a vacation rental. Ideal for a couple or small family looking for a relaxing retreat to kayak, fish or boat. We offer a tastefully appointed cottage with WiFi, swim platform, and your own dock. There are many miles of quiet tranquil roads to walk your pet or jog without driving anywhere. It is very "off the grid". Long Pond is six and 1/2 miles long and offers nearly 3,000 acres of beautiful Maine waters with islands, pines, loons and bald eagles. More than enough for a great week of kayaking, boating or whatever your summer interests are. Long Pond is a deep, clear lake and great for swimming and fishing. Of all the Belgrade Lakes, Long Pond is the least developed and most pristine. Drive or go by boat to the town of Belgrade Lakes for dinner or ice cream. A classic summer vacation area, Long Pond and the Belgrade Lakes area are sure to please. Approximately 3 hours from Boston.

Quintessential Maine cottage by the lake! Quiet and peaceful. Fishing was good, and sitting on the dock listening to the loons is the best. Cottage was well equipped and instructions were clear. Definitely recommend!
Cabin was wonderful! We ate all our meals on the screen porch. Loved hearing the loons at night. We enjoyed cruising and fishing on our boat (caught a couple large mouth bass). Spent a lot of time relaxing in the water on our tubes and swimming to the platform. Water temperature was perfect! Scott was a great host, always prompt with his response’s. Our pup loved the cabin too, he liked sitting on the dock with us and taking walks. In just a couple days into our stay we knew we wanted to return next year. ( already booked it 😊) I definitely recommend!!
We are a retired couple in our early 70's and have stayed at this cabin every year for the last 12 years. You can't beat the remote location and wonderful view. The cabin is straight out of an LL Bean ad, and about as close to the water as you can get. We normally come in spring and fall to kayak and enjoy the view from the awesome screen deck. Scott is a great host and always responds immediately.
The house and property were great for our family of five with three young kids. There is another house next door but you still feel secluded. The house was well appointed with all the amenities. The lake was clear and warm by our standards and swimming was a delight. We paddle-boarded across to the small inhabited island for fun. We could have had a rental motor boat delivered right to the dock but opted for paddles. Best of all, the dock is perfectly situated to catch early morning sunrises.
The cottage is very cozy and enough room for a family of five. Kids had fun fishing and swimming off the dock. View of Long Pond from porch is amazing. Great place for family memories.
We had a wonderful week. The cabin is centrally located for day trips and yet remote and peaceful. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee.
We'd be happy to stay again.
The cabin was like something out of an LL Bean Catalog. So many decorative things to look at. So comfortable, clean and cozy. Sitting on the beautuful porch, listening to the loons, will lower your blood pressure for sure. Hopefully will get the chance to rent again. Was sad to leave.
Loved the lake cottage, roomy but cozy with the small gas Franklin stove, we were there in October so it was a nice addition for the evenings. We would definitely come back!
The cabin is on a beautiful pond. We stayed in October so the leaves were changing. The color was amazing! We had a few rainstorms and the skylight over the bed enhanced the experience. We were so cozy.
Amazing area, cute & comfortable cabin. It would be perfect in the summer. Unfortunately in the fall businesses that rent kayaks were closed. Unless you are able to bring your own fishing gear or other lake toys (we couldn’t because we flew) it would be difficult to fully enjoy the lake. Overall though we would definitely recommend this camp.
Great cottage and outdoor fire pit. Great dock.
Cottage had everything we needed. We appreciated the dryer for drying wet dog towels.
King bedroom was very comfortable.
Spent almost all day on the dock reading or watching birds. Got some great loon and heron pics.
Husband spinner and fly fished from dock and took his canoe out as well. Fishing wasn’t great due to time of year but he still enjoyed it.
Visited Belgrade for supplies (Day’s) and dinners out (The Village Inn).
Dogs loved swimming but neither would jump from the dock. Slope from property to lake was a bit steep for the old dog.
Hiked (short with very slight elevation gain) up French Mountain. Also had great view from Blueberry Hill (drive up).
Was so sad to leave. Actually teared up. Would love to spend the entire summer there.
Highly recommend.
Excellent, hated to leave. Every day we would find something interesting in some parts of the house, antiques fishing pictures Etc. A nice touch to every room, the porch was our favorite the minute you entered the porch and sit down you relaxed and did not want to leave. We went fishing, swimming, kayaking and floating in the water and the water was quite warm for Maine The boys had a great time they did not sleep out in their tent like planned because there was no real comfortable place to put the tent, they made it one night and then they slept in the house on air mattresses. The father of the boys is quite a fisherman and caught several pike he is ready to go back next year, we all are ! He got up at sunrise and went on his boat to go fishing every morning. Great place! Nothing to complain about except that it was a little small for our boys that are 6 feet tall each. Kids adjust very easily. Would love to go back next year.
Perfect spot to have our nearby family in for meals, games, fishing and grandkids spending the night. The large, comfortable, screened-in porch is where we spent most of our indoor time. The view of the lake is five star. The night sky was brilliant from the dock. Comfortable beds and quiet surroundings made for remarkably good sleep. We enjoyed a day at the botanical gardens. Driving tours of the area were lovely. We hope to stay here again.
My husband and I had a peaceful and stress-free 7-day vacation at this lovely cabin on the lake. We could both feel our "work" anxiety slip away as we drove further into Maine. It was exactly what we needed. It would be great to experience this type of vacation at some point during the summer months, as well.
This was the perfect getaway! From the location (secluded), the view, and the tastefully decorated cabin. If you need to unwind this is the place to go! The owner Scott was easy to get in touch with if needed. We will be back and highly recommend this great place.
Communication with Scott was awesome! The cabin was perfect for us and our boy, Diesel. Luckily, we had some good weather for this time of year and was able to use the porch area, which was amazing! I did not notice that both bedrooms were upstairs, which made it hard for my spouse who is on crutches, but that was my own fault. If you get the chance while staying there, rent the small pontoon boat from Belgrade Boat Shop. They were very accommodating and it was a great way to explore the lake!
We had a wonderful week fishing, kayaking and relaxing. The home was clean, comfortable and as described. The best spot is the screened porch with the view of the beautiful lake! We can’t wait to return!
Loon Song provided our family with the perfect vacation experience. The cabin is cozy, inviting and spacious for our family of four. The screened porch was a favorite spot for morning coffee, to playing board games to listening to the loons at night. We saw many loons from our dock and had a heron visit our dock a few days. We rented kayaks and a boat from Belgrade Boat Rental (Russell was very helpful). The fire pit was awesome for making s’mores. We explored Blueberry Mountain - incredible views! Loved driving/boating into town - our favorite was the Days Store. Great ice cream!! We loved Long Pond and Loon Song. We’ll be back again!!!
The house was exactly as described on the website. It was perfect for a family of 4. We enjoyed the privacy especially since we booked the house during Covid and weren’t sure what would be happening once our vacation came around. Augusta was thirty mins away so we could travel to the store when needed and still be secluded at the lake.

Our favorite lake in the Belgrade Lakes chain is Long Pond. When we had the opportunity to purchase this property in 2012 we could not resist! After a full year of extensive re-design and renovation we are pleased to offer this wonderful cottage for rent.
Why they chose this property
This lake is our absolute favorite in the Belgrade Lakes chain for it's pristine look and feel. Bald Eagles, the largest local population of Loons you will find anywhere, and beautiful stretches of undeveloped shoreline are the hallmark of this beautiful pond.
What makes this property unique
Quiet and seclusion, we are at the end of a very long and beautiful country road, perfect for jogging and walking your dog. Our end of the lake also boasts great stretches of undeveloped shoreline that is a pleasure to boat or kayak. When you get to our property you are at the end of the road, there is no busy road running behind us. The lake in front of our cottage is perfect for swimming. There are no weeds, some gravel, and a gently sloping depth. You have your own large floating dock and your own swim platform as well. Plenty of parking for boat trailers with room to turn around is a plus.
