Escape to Tides Cottage, the Pinnacle waterfront home in Irvington, Virginia. Upscale waterfront located on the famous Carter's Creek. The Nantucket-inspired cottage is newly renovated with high ceilings and loads of natural light. Enjoy waterfront living on Carters Creek at its BEST! Tides Cottage is the fun, happy place and only 5 minutes to town.

The home has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The kitchen is fully equipped for Gourmet dinning, with 3 barstools at the kitchen island and seating for 8 in the dining room. The family room offers ample seating with 2 large sofas and 2 comfortable chairs, perfect for group gatherings. Enjoy entertainment options such as DirectTV, board games, and a selection of novels. The main living area, dining room, kitchen, and primary bedroom all have 20’ vaulted ceilings.

The very PRIVATE deep water pier has 2 kayaks, a paddle board, custom built in seating, 2 lounge chairs along with sunshades and umbrellas to get out of the sun. Built in cooler for cold drinks. The pier is an amazing getaway. Crab and fish with provided nets and poles for fishing.

The main patio is conveniently accessible from the living and dining area, where you’ll have a delightful space to relax and socialize. This area features a sitting area, a gas fire pit, grill, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs.

The primary suite has a luxurious TempurPedic bed, an ensuite bath, and a secluded secondary patio where you can unwind in tranquility. The second and third bedrooms each offer queen beds and are conveniently located near a full bath, providing ample space and comfort for your guests. For added privacy, a fourth loft bedroom is on the second floor with its own private full bath. All linens and towel are provided.

The pier is on deep water with 3 boat slips accommodating 60', 58' and 40' yachts. Two kayaks, a paddle board, 2 fishing poles, and 4 crab pots are provided for your entertainment. New updates this year to the pier include built-in seating, chaise lounges, sunshades, misters, water & electric, Yeti coolers, fish cleaning station, and lighting. A new floating dock is attached to the pier for easy launch of the paddle board and kayaks, or to help getting on and off your boat.

Great home in scenic location

The home is beautiful and well maintained. Outside of not catching any fish or crabs (too early in the year) we had a relaxing stay. Barry, the host is extremely responsive. When we found the water feeding the showers and sinks was lukewarm at best, he sent a tech to adjust the hot water heaters and the situation was immediately rectified.

Beautiful home and property with well equipped kitchen, large open space with dining table and chairs, comfortable couches with TV. We enjoyed the dock area and liked that the property was within walking distance of Tides Inn. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect!

We rented this property to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect space to relax and rejuvenate! Check-in was a breeze and I was incredibly grateful for the easy communication with the property owner. We had a few minor questions pop up during our stay and he was always very quick to politely respond. The house is meticulously maintained from the gorgeous kitchen, large well-stocked bathrooms, and all the way down to the dock. The layout is also maximized for comfort, and everyone felt like they had their own space which really helped on a day when the weather wasn't so great. I could have stayed at the house for the entire trip, but the proximity to great restaurants and shopping was a huge plus! The Tides Inn, The Local, The Office Bistro, Dredge, etc. were all fun excursions. I really cannot say enough great things about this property and am so excited to return again soon! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

The cottage was spacious, welcoming, clean, and exceptionally well-appointed, inside and out. We enjoyed our week in Irvington and appreciated the owner's attention to detail. Amazing dock and water access, and perfect distance to and from town. We'll be back!

A comfortable river house with perfect dock!

The epitome of a comfortable river house with all of the amenities for living on the water. Barry has thought of everything both inside and out. If you have a boat, the dock is spectacular. Easy walk to the Tides Inn and fun to bike into town. We will return!

Northern neck family retreat

Large premium house with outstanding water views and a dock. Multiple outside sitting areas made it great for my children & their spouses. Our toddler grandchild also did well. The large dining room table and we’ll equipped kitchen made meals a pleasure. The location is walkable to the town center. Including satellite TV was also good.

Beautiful House with Great Location

This house was so nice. The kitchen and great room are one big room and the big screen TV is above the fire place at the far end. So you can make meals and watch TV at the same time. Your whole family can hang out in one room. We loved the kayaks and used them every morning. We really enjoyed everything about the house. Thanks for making everything so easy.

Vacation with neighbors

We spent a week at the house with some friends (4 adults and 3 children). The house was wonderful, clean, bright, and big. Lake was nice, but swimming wasn't possible because of the jellyfish. Went kayaking every day. The town of Irvington is quaint. The host was very responsive.

Family Gathering

Our family of 3 generations has stayed in several rental properties over the past few years and this one by far was the best appointed home we've enjoyed. The kitchen is well equipped and organized, and the space is ideal for our group of 9. The bedrooms are comfortable and the walkability to downtown Irvington made it the ideal place to catch up with family that now lives all over the country. We enjoyed the gas fire pit at night, and the owner was responsive and easy to work with. We highly recommend it.

Very nice home

The house is beautiful. Nice wide open space on the main level. Great views of the water on Carter's creek. Nicely outfitted kitchen. Barry was easy to work with. Kayakers should know that entry and exit from the water is tricky, there is a floating dock which I find difficult to use. Barry said he is considering a new set up that would make it easier to use. All in all a great spot!

We are located in Virginia and bought this property in 2013 to enjoy and to rent out when we are not using.

Why they chose this property

Irvington is a unique town, and the house is on Deep water. There is a lot to do and it sure does beat the traffic and crowds at the beach. The Tides Inn, Camp Vineyard, Golden Eagle golf courses, restaurants and Oyster Trail are all within walking distance. Great new restaurants include Dredge, The Office, Vine, and Adrift.

What makes this property unique

The Tides Cottage is near Tides Inn and convenient to all amenities of the Virginia Northern Neck and the tri-city area of Irvington, White Stone and Kilmarnock.
