We had a great stay at Mirabella. The communication with Louise was excellent and the accommodation exactly as described. The location is perfect for visiting all the D-day sites, and is within walking distance of the Maisy battery which is well worth the visit. The accommodation was clean, tidy, comfy and had everything you could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - overall highly recommended.
Charming host. Charming house. Great location. A1. Thank you.
Firstly I would like to say what a fantastic host Louise is. The property is in a nice quiet location with a cafe/bar a 2 minute walk away where we got our croissants in the morning. The house is lovely. Full of charm and plenty of room for our family of 5. Small suntrap garden to dine in and the use of Louise's large garden should the need arise. 10 minute walk to a small but well stocked supermarket. 15 minutes and you're in the town, harbour or on the beach. Great location to explore as many D-day sights as you can manage. Hour to Bayeux. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Louise. I'm sure we'll be back.
Nice place to stay, clean and comfortable. Completely fulfilled our needs. The host Louise was wonderful, gave us suggestions and information about activities in the area. Enjoyed our talks, and I have definitely made a good friend.
Lovely traditional French house, spacious and homely. Perfect size for a family of 4,5 or 6. Great proximity to D day landing sites, museums and other places of interest. A short walk to the local beach, shop, bar and supermarket. Children enjoyed meeting the owners cats and dog. Would recommend to other families looking to explore the area.
Louise is a great host, really welcoming and friendly with some wonderful pets!
The location is perfect, quiet but easily walkable to the town centre, harbour and beach.
A lovely week away to enjoy the sights and delights of Normandy.
Thank you!
A very lovely little house with its own patio. Small kitchen that meets the needs of vacationers. Three bedrooms that maintain the french flavor, with a single bath with walk in shower. Very comfortable furniture in the living room area and fireplace area. Cozy in the best sense of the word. A lovely host that is very helpful and friendly . I hope to visit again! Restaurants and shops in walking distance.
The cottage is delightful, spacious with 3 double bedrooms and well equipped. Our host was very welcoming, very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Location wise, it was great with everything in walking distance including the beach, restaurants, bars, supermarket, the fishing port and the daily fish market. A short drive away are the Normandie beaches, Bayeux, and Insigny sur Mer. All in all, I highly recommend this property.
Bon accueil des propriétaires, avec cheminée allumée pour notre arrivée
Très bon emplacement pour les visites du coin,
Gîte très agréable
Un ménage un peu plus approfondi pour l'arrivée aurait été bienvenu
A recommander
On reviendra!
la maison est très agréable à vivre, Louise est accueillante, elle est disponible pour les vacanciers, toujours prête à répondre à nos questions. Très bonne situation dans le village, proche des commodités, du port, de la plage.
de plus le village est proche des différents sites du débarquement,
Fabulous owners, wonderful cottage.
Louisa and Rod are the best hosts we could ever wish for.
My children dearly miss Yolo the wonderful dog.
We will return!!

Mirabelle. Grandecamp Maisey Normandy
We are three motorcyclists, all retired and decided on our motorcycling break because of our interest in ww2 history. Mirabelle exceeded all our expectations. The house is spacious and has all the attributes of home from home. Louise allowed us to garage all three motorcycles and also cooked us a meal on our arrival. We we surprised to find sky TV and so enjoyed our English programmes. Grandecamp Maisey is a seaside village/small town and has an abundance of restaurants and bars. We visited the local bar for sunday lunch and enjoyed bbq sardines fresh from the sea. The nearby church bell starts the clock chimes at 7am and every 15mins, a very pleasant way to start the new day.

Clean, spacious and ideally placed!
The property was in a perfect location for visiting the Normandy Beaches. Grandcamp Maisy is a nice quiet village within walking distance of the sea and the local Carrefour supermarket. Louise was very welcoming and accommodating, and they always had a beautiful fire prepared for us upon our arrival home from touring the area. Overall, an excellent stay and we would highly recommend. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Holiday above expectations
This is a pleasant french style house in a fishing village. The 20 minute walk to town has everything you need close by without the need to rely on a car. Louise is a very welcoming host and made the whole family feel very welcome. If we come back to Normandy, we would visit again.

Fantastic Stay
My family and I had a wonderful time during our Easter weekend trip to Normandy. This property was a fantastic place to stay and the owner, Louise really made an extra effort to make it feel welcoming and like home for you. My kids were able to make use of Louise's garden for playing and even an Easter egg hunt. The house was well located for the things we came to see like; Mont-Saint-Michel, Bayeux, Caen and all sorts of WWII history. I would absolutely stay there again, as Louise is such a great host and the property marks all the boxes for my young family of 6.

Superb accomodation
Stayed at Mirabelle for an Easter break with the family (2 adults 3 children 16,11,10). The cottage was just what we wanted and has a real French feel and is very well equipped. Louise was really chatty and helpful with advise about the area and arranged to have the burner lit when we returned from a long day out exploring. Maisy proved an excellent location for exploring the Normandy beach and historic towns like Bayeux.
I cant recommend Mirabelle highly enough.

About the host
Hosted by Louise Gunningham
I am English and moved to Grandcamp Maisy in 2002 then started renting Mirabelle the following year. It was all my dreams come true. It has been an adventure ever since.
Why they chose this property
This was the first house I viewed and knew immediatly it was the one....located in the country but 2 minute drive into Grandcamp Maisy, walking distance of Supermarket and the beach. Local bar with live music in the Summer most Friday nights.
What makes this property unique
Having me living nextdoor! Always on hand if you need any explanation about the history of the area, places to eat or drink...sometimes invited to share a bottle of wine with in the evening......
