You can take the Harz narrow-gauge railroad from Wernigerode to the Brocken or to other destinations in the Harz. Hiking trails to the most beautiful destinations in the Harz Mountains are not far from the vacation home. Historical towns such as Quedlinburg and Halberstadt or the imperial city of Goslar are also easy to reach by car. The Harz Mountains also offer a wealth of opportunities for winter sports enthusiasts, whether your heart beats for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing or tobogganing.
