The area is known for its rolling landscape, vast heathlands, forests, and moraines. Plenty of walking and cycling paths here will lead you past the most beautiful spots. What makes the Sallandse Heuvelrug extra special is the contrast between the heathlands and the forests. In summer, the vast heathlands turn beautifully purple, a spectacular sight.
