The family who runs the farm is over the top wonderful. But the house we rented was not as clean as I expected. There could have been more attention to the floors. There were spots all over and the corners were not clean. I understand it's a farmhouse but it can still be clean. The sheets and towels were very good. There was no paper towels or napkins of any kind, we had to buy toilet paper. When you come from overseas these things are expected as you can't bring with you. I feel bad saying this because I really liked the owners they were so exceptionally kind. But this may be due to the employees not keeping up the units. I also understand this is a self service unit, but some basics are appreciated in the price paid, such as cleaning suppliesand paper products. The location was also MORE secluded than described. I was not expecting to be so far off the path. It took us a quite a while to find it and to return each day. It was once a beautiful property but needs some up keep. It's very extensive and I'm sure difficult to maintain. Traveller tips: Your description should be more clear on what the house contains and where it is for this particular unit. Without a car it's impossible. I know I needed a car but it's WAY out more than described. I would not have booked this property had I known it was so far up the hills. I mapped it but it was not easy to understand the logistics of the location. It's up windy roads and very far from the highways. I wanted a farm setting but not so far off the track. The best part was the owners who were wonderful people. We enjoyed meeting them very much. The were very kind and welcoming.
