Great place!

While a few repairs were necessary after the pandemic closure, these were fewer than expected and promptly dealt with. The cabana is just the right size for one (or two) and has all the amenities that make it easy to stay there. The rowboat, once mastered, makes it simple to get across the canal and into town. The covered porch is in shade for most of the day and there is often a light breeze that makes it pleasant. There are excellent screens on the windows and lots of cross-ventilation in the bedroom which keeps it cool at night and comfortable. The internet is speedy and reliable and allowed me to attend a number of meetings. Altogether, a great place to stay.

Nice affordable place

We stayed in this house for about 2 months. It had everything you could need. Right down to the blender and crock pot. It is a house that people have actually lived in so it had what you need to live. I was happy when I saw the chief knives. I just wished it had a full sized refrigerator. But we managed. Paddling across the canal was fun even with a load of laundry and our dog. We walked everywhere no need for a car. The gardener does a good job of keeping the yard raked. However the mangrove is still behind the house so there can be some bugs. Burning a coil in the house would keep them out. The location of the house is very nice and quite. It has some sea views and a light breeze. It is also nice to be on the canal and have the chartered boats pick you up at your door. The neighbors were all supper nice and the house owners were always checking in to see if you needed anything. We would stay here again and we appreciate the small town neighborhood feel of the town. We felt very safe in the home.

Hello, I am a freelance artist and manage rental properties. We have owned our house in Placencia since 2001, we purchased it right before Hurricane Iris! Placencia is a wonderful place with such character and beauty. I am proud to offer a clean and comfortable cabin for visitors to enjoy the small fishing village charm that has become one of the most popular destinations in Central America!

Why they chose this property

We wanted to live in Placencia.

What makes this property unique

This house is located across the canal that runs through Placencia Village. It is on a private island and accessible only by boat. This is a great benefit for some, and not so much for others. I love it because it is so quite and peaceful and if I want excitement its only a short paddle across and a short bike or hike into the bustling village.
