Peaceful house

This house was very peaceful and lovely for our 2 week stay. We had plenty of room for 3 people. The fans kept us cool enough when we were at the house. If you are trying to get to Hilo in the morning or back from Hilo in the afternoon (on weekdays), be aware of serious rush hour traffic.

Jungle Joy

The property was lovely, with many personal touches. Thank you for the comfortable king size bed! We especially enjoyed that we could literally see the jungle out of every window and the coquis serenaded us to sleep every night!

Sweet Jungle experience

This place felt lived in, in a good way, like staying at a friend or family's cottage. Good vibes and the pleasant sound of frogs at night. The kitchen had everything we required and we enjoyed the selection of snacks, treats and fresh fruit provided. The fresh cut flower arrangement was a nice touch too and the fragrance was so lovely. Our children enjoyed the selection of kids books in their bedroom and the ample living room couch spaces for lounging. A great home base for our Pahoa and Hilo adventures!

Very comfortable home in a quite neighborhood

My wife and I stayed seven nights in this property during our trip to Hilo. It was perfect for our needs. Easy access to the Belt Road (HWY 11) and Hilo. Well equipped kitchen, spacious living room, large master bedroom with a comfortable bed and two bathrooms. Plenty of room for a family with kids. We would certainly stay here again when we return to Hilo.

Very nice and reasonably priced!

Lucena and Nestor made us feel like family. The house is nestled away in a rainforest like setting and stays very cool. It is clean, functional, and very nice. Has everything you need to feel right at home. Enjoyed our stay and our new Ohanas! Mahalo.

Can't beat it for the money

The house was great for my friend and me who were meeting from distant places. Two full bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a very well-equipped kitchen, and a screened porch. We were completely satisfied with our stay. The property manager was very responsive and pleasant. The island is beautiful, and I really doubt you can find a less expensive place to stay that would equal the space and amenities.

Highly Recommended

Great location: 30 minutes for Hilo, 30 minutes for Volcanoes National Park, 30 minutes (including the drive & short walk) to the most beautiful black sand beach I’ve ever been to. This house was clean & comfortable and tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood. We enjoyed family dinners ever night on the screened in patio and listening to the white noise provided by the rainforest after that.

Amazing

The house in payola is amazing and there is so many good things to do in that area ! The tropical lush green rainforest and all of the attractions just on that side of the island makes this house centrally located to everything and it’s a short drive to the volcano national park which makes it even more desirable ! The owners are nothing but super good people and are very personable and helped make our two month stay a success ! They are also in the real estate market and we are consulting with them on a future purchase on the big island of Hawaii ! They are very knowledgeable people and I would recommend their services and their house to anybody !

Cozy home away from the city

This is a lovely 2-bedroom house about a 25 minute drive to Hilo. The drive is lovely and I never felt like I was driving 25 minutes! There are ceiling fans throughout the entire house, so the house stayed very comfortable. Nestor could not have been nicer and allowed for a late check out. The only different thing about this house is that the master bedroom bathroom had no door. It worked out fine for us since only one person stayed in that room, but if you’re a couple, I hope your comfortable with that arrangement! There is a queen bed in both of the bedrooms and two futons in the living room. We had space to spare! It is on county water, and not on a containment system, so the water is potable. When we arrived, we had a note warning us that the router was out on the wi-fi. This was a total non issue as Nestor showed up the next day to replace it. Nestor is a terrific communicator, which, in my opinion, makes all the difference in the world. I would highly recommend staying here!

The True Aloha Stay

This quiet oasis is nestled in the true Hawaii! My family stayed here and have NO COMPLAINTS. We wanted to be off the beaten path, we wanted to mingle with the locals. We experienced framer markets, volcano mountains and gorgeous waterfalls. Our 7 days here was just to short! This island it’s already calling us back. Our hostess was amazing, the cottage was airy, surrounded by rain forest, you get the nights of the coqui frogs beautiful songs, mornings just a quick 15 minute trip to the cost for sunrise, 20 minutes to hot pools at Issac Hale Park. You want vacation this is it. We will be back. Thanks for the memories.

Pleasant Pahoa Place

This home was everything we were looking for. It is comfortable with indoor and outdoor living spaces. It is private, surrounded with vegetation and sounds of nature. While private, it is just a short drive to downtown Pahoa and not too far from Hilo. Allowing pets was a bonus for us. Nestor and Lucena are excellent hosts. Highly recommended!

Born and raised in PI, I moved to Guam in 1989 and met my wife Lucena. We moved to the island of Lanai for a time and then in 2005, my family and I relocated to the East side of the big island to be near our grandchildren. Why they chose this property

We chose and bought this property for the simple pleasure of fresh, spring fed county water. (Most subdivisions are still on catchment water tank systems). We were also enchanted by the openess that the vaulted ceilings create, as well as the location of home. I mean who wouldn't want to live on Dolphin Street?

What makes this property unique

County water, high speed internet service, screen in lanai, washer/dryer, and close to the entrance of Nanawale Subdivision, nice quite street. House has been upgraded with granite tops, vessel sinks, and wood flooring. The outside living space consist of a screen in Lanai, a place to drink your coffee in the morning and when in season pick avocados from tress.
