Excellent price for the accommodations. The property had everything we needed. The location is excellent. Very close to downtown with lots of walking paths nearby. We took our kids to Canmore and calaway park and because of the location, it was easy to navigate out of Calgary. We will definitely be staying there again.

This place is unbelievable - the pictures do not do it justice! It’s located in the perfect spot, walkable to a lot of very popular restaurants and stores and literally 2 blocks from the Peace Birdge and the amazing trails along the Bow River. The house itself has everything you could ever need and is very well kept. We would stay here time and time again!
The house is in a great neighborhood with easy access to the Bow and lots of shops and restaurants. The front porch is great for sitting and hanging out, the house has a ton of charm, and it is stocked with everything you need for a stay. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a very nice stay and we were very happy with the home and the location. Lovely outside area and great location. Quiet friendly neighbourhood. Good communication with owner and zero problems.
Great location, older bungalow with real character. Simple, easy check in. Fully equipped kitchen. Close by the Kensington area - Safeway there as well as lots of diverse restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is very charming and comfortable, and very well kitted out. The kitchen (unlike so many short-term rentals) has everything you need to cook well. Cathy and Tim were gracious hosts and the neighbourhood is a great, walkable neighbourhood. We loved it and we'd stay again and I can't reccomend it highly enough.
The property is well equipped and maintained and makes an ideal base for exploring central Calgary and attending the Stampede. The local C-Train station is about a 10 minute walk with frequent trains to the City centre and Stampede Ground (no changes needed). The hosts are delightful and helpful people.
The property was a charming old cottage that was updated with lovely finishes and furniture. It is in a perfect neighbourhood with close proximity to the Bow River and Kensington. The neighborhood itself, Sunnyside, is full of delightful cottages and Victorian homes and is great for walking a dog.
The addition of a portable ac unit in the house was an added bonus during a hot spell in June. The house was fully equipped with everything you would need, and more, in a rental house. It is not a huge house, but it was perfect for two people and a small dog! I highly recommend it and would love to stay there again in the future.😊

Just lovely
We were attending the Stampede and son and grandson went fly fishing. This property was located near the train and a lovely shopping area. The property itself was very comfortable and nicely appointed with anything you could possibly need. The owners were very approachable and helpful. Would stay here again if I return to Calgary. We had dinner at the Cleaver and it was good food and fun experience, the Blush coffeeshop near the property was great again wonderful helpful staff. I visited the Calgary farmers market after dropping family off to go fishing and was absolutely blown away. They had an amazing selection of meats, cheeses, bakery items, etc. This is the second time I have used VRBO and again I was very pleased. Only way to go and yes would recommend this property to anyone.
The house was very clean and well equipped. Great location on a quiet street, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. Also walking distance to several good playparks and the wading pool at Riley Park which was great for the kids.
I loved this little house. It was built over 100 years ago so it has all the charm of that era. The ceiling were tin with beautiful lighting. It had everything we needed except an outlet in the bathroom. She had a big mirror in the foyer so I just used that to curl my hair. Comfortable mattress, nice washer and dryer, and all the amenities you would need to stay for a few days. She even left us coffee and filters which was very nice. Very quiet neighborhood within walking distance to downtown. Took about 7 min to walk to the peace bridge and then we walked to the park, chinatown, the library, and studio bell. About a 10 min walk to the grocery store and restaurants. Got to meet the owner and shes very nice. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for cleanliness is because the microwave was really dusty and dishes were left in the dishwasher which I had to put away which wasn't a big deal. Thank you so much for the lovely stay and sorry to have missed the Stampede party!
The convenience of dual suite availability really worked for us! The heat was a little daunting at times....but the house is shaded by huge trees....which was helpful (would have helped more to find the extra fans before the last morning-lol) Beds/sleeping areas were a little too firm for our group...so sleeps were more difficult- Hosts were lovely and our overall experience was wonderful!!! So great to be "out and about" again!
Excellent central location within walking distance to trendy shops & restaurants and even a Safeway. Quiet neighbourhood with good areas for dog walking..
We love staying in Cathy and Tim’s vacation rental homes! Sunnyside is such a friendly, vibrant community, and we spent so much time on the front porch visiting with family. We love that the place is pet friendly with a wonderful gated front yard. The beds are great, and everything works properly.
We really enjoyed our stay while we were in Calgary for our daughter’s wedding at SAIT, only a few minutes away. The beds were really comfy, and it was great to be able to rent the basement suite as well for our son. Cathy is great to deal with.
Super location in a quiet neighborhood with easy accessibility to transit, shopping, restaurants.

About the host
Hosted by Cathy Thoms
Homeowners are long time Calgarians and proud Sunnyside residents who live next door to this rental property. We waited 20 years to purchase this home and turn it into the charming rental cottage we knew it could be. The transformation of this home has been very rewarding and we look forward to sharing this lovely home and our neighborhood with people from all over the world. We love to travel as well and have tried to make this a place we would love to rent when visiting another city. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
This property is on the same block as our home and needed some loving. We have lived here for 20 years and think this is the best neighborhood in Calgary. This property is fully upgraded without loosing its old charm which was our goal.
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location!!!!! And of course unbelievable charm....
