Please note that we have a well, we are not supplied with town water. Water conservation is important in this fragile coastal environment. For example, please allow time between large uses of water consumption for the well to 're-charge'. If you take a shower, do dishes, and wash the car at the same time the well could run dry. We have not had the well run dry in 14 years, but it could happen if you overuse the well in a short period of time, so please be careful with water consumption.

Peaceful Retreat
Comfortable cottage with beautiful water views and walking distance to beach. Sunsets were gorgeous and we spent each evening reading by the fireplace. Gourmet groceries and beach-y restaurants are a short drive away. Joel was a great communicator. We hope to return.

Quintessential Northeast Beach House
My husband and I had a relaxing week on this lovely property. The house had everything we needed to enjoy the changeable early spring weather: a deck to sit out if the sun was out, a fireplace to warm us on chilly nights, and large windows for an amazing view of the spectacular sunsets on the water. We even got to see how Fogland got it's name when a bank of fog passed by on a perfectly sunny day. We got to see rabbits, a groundhog, seagulls, and robins. And we awoke to birdsong everyday. The house felt very isolated and quiet and, yet was a short walk to the beach or to town for restaurants and shopping. The owner was super helpful with information about the area and even made a special shopping trip to make sure everything was in top shape for their first renters of the season. It was a trip we won't forget.

Beautiful, quiet sanctuary on the water.
We loved so many things about this place! Where to start? Firstly, Joel is very prompt and clear with his communication so that makes everything else smoother and easier. Secondly, the house is extremely well maintained and cared for. It truly feels like a home. We even arrived to a homemade apple pie and a sweet note from the property manager. I grew up in RI and am pretty familiar with its many little inlets and byways, but Fogland Beach is the hidden gem of RI and this little house on the Sakonnet was the perfect getaway for our family. The front yard provides shade all day while the back porch is for the sun lovers and so lovely for small gatherings. Having my morning coffee while watching the early stirrings along the river is my version of paradise. Having a cold beer in the outdoor shower after a day at the beach might be yours! Not to mention the bounty of lilies, hydrangeas, birds, and bunnies. With our own rocky lookout (and swimming spot for the brave of heart) and the beach only a five minute walk down the lane, I am not sure what else you could ask for. Oh, and the sun sets right before your eyes as the porch faces due west. Everyone from my 3 year old daughter to my 70 year old father was perfectly contented! The quiet of this cottage and peaceful settings of the surrounding area were just the vacation we needed. Thank you!

Waterfront like no other
My husband and I have been going to Joel's magical property for the past 4 years. Just steps from the water we spend the whole day swimming, fishing, eating outside and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The house is well stocked with everything you need and very comfortable. Joel and Caron, the caretaker, are incredibly responsive and helpful. The surrounding area is serene and picturesque, with farm stands, local artisan shops, more nature walks than you can count and endless places for gorgeous water views and swimming. Thank you Joel for sharing your little slice of heaven with others!

Tranquil spot full of natural beauty.
We have rented this property for 13 summers in a row. It's perfect for our family of four, but to be honest, we spend most of our time outside--either on the deck or on the beach. The sunsets are spectacular and the fresh ocean air soothes the soul. Joel, and his phenomenal property manager Caron, work hard to make sure all of your needs are met. We love it here!

Wonderful RI Hideaway for a Family with Two Preschoolers
We had the pleasure of spending a week at this property in May of 2016. Located on a peninsula with about 15 other homes/cottages, you will drive by a small quiet sand beach (with playground) on the way to the house. The house has two bedrooms with queen size beds and an additional room with a single bed and sink/vanity, laundry room, living space with open floor feel for the supply stocked kitchen/dining area/most of the living room (working fireplace) so you can cook and chat with/see anyone that is moving around in those spaces. The views from every window are beautiful and the front yard has a wooden swing that our kids enjoyed. The deck is huge and is great to have a meal or watch a sunset/moon-rise. The back yard is a very nice size where we were able to fly kites for the first time with the kids (can be very windy). There is a lovely little “mediation area” with a bench that is hidden from view behind some shrubs and looks out over the water – great spot to hide away for a morning cup of coffee. The birds, bunnies, and fox roaming the peninsula kept my children entertained. Wooden stairs off the back yard lead to beautiful rock beach. All the neighbors we met were very nice (some renters/some owners). House is about 30 minutes to either Providence or Newport. FOR ICE CREAM FANS - there are two good ice cream places in Tiverton – both on Rt 77. The better known one is Gray's at the four corners. We loved Helger’s Ice Cream (next to the liquor store). We went back several times (even for pints to store in the freezer!). Get the campfire s’mores flavor - we even got pints to store in the freezer!! The owner of the house was very helpful leading up to the trip with suggestions of places and things to do (thanks Joel!). He was very communicative and answered any questions I had upon arrival. We were sure to leave the place as we found it and received our security deposit back within two weeks. I would highly recommend this property for a couple, two couples vacationing together or a small family that want to feel like they are in a remote area but are actually close to many destinations.

Wonderful waterfront house with lovely view!
We are so grateful to Joel for sharing his lovely home. The sunset views from the great deck are fabulous and the setting is perfect. We return every year to enjoy the peace and serenity as well as the natural beauty. The gardens are lovely and the house is well maintained and equipped. We look forward to personal renewal in this lovely retreat each year.

Lovely seaside cottage with fabulous location
We just signed up for our 6th stay at Joel's lovely cottage on Fogland point. It is in a wonderfully quiet corner of Rhode Island. From the deck one can watch the sailboats glide by, gaze at great sunsets, dine on fresh seafood or just hangout and chill. The house is immaculate with a well-equipped kitchen, an outdoor grill and all you need to enjoy a vacation including a great outdoor shower. Wind-surfing and kite-boarding are very nearby at a sweet little beach, and there are lovely quiet country roads for walking or cycling. We really look forward to our week there every September.

4th year at Fogland
This is my family's 4th year at Wendy and Joel's Fogland home. It is the highlight of our summer, and it pleases all members of our family; from our 16 y/o son, our 20 something daughters and my husband and I. Fishing, boat watching, birds, bunnies all keep us company. Home is clean, appliances in good working order and hosts inform renters of area attractions to assist with vacation planning. Lots of biking, wineries, restaurants, shops at nearby Four Corners, farm stands abound and sunsets are priceless.
