This is an absolutely beautiful property. It has all of the amenities of a home and the host has done a wonderful job trying to anticipate every person's needs that stays there. The property is a very short walk from the village and is in a nice area that is quiet and very scenic. You are staying right in the middle of a small forest. It's a very short walk to the lake's waterfront which provided us with a wonderful walking area for our two dogs. We decided on this property because we wanted to have a short getaway and hopefully allow our dogs to have fun in the snow. Well, Mother Nature did not oblige but we certainly would stay here again the next time we want to come up to Big Bear. Thanks to our host for a great and special time.
It was so nicely decorated with a Christmas tree and all. Plenty of warmth for everyone and just perfect!! Loved the location!! Perfect for families with doggies and that want to play Pickle Ball!! Thank You so Much!!

Loved It!
Had a wonderful weekend at the cabin. So close to the park and lake. Kerry was great to deal with and made me feel very welcome. Very cute cabin. Would definitely recommend.
This rental was the perfect spot for the 4th of July weekend! Amazing views of the lake, walking distance to the the village, park, and the lake shoreline. The house was very very clean and had everything that we needed with lots of towels, blankets, and it even had toiletries. Beds were very comfy with soft linens.. Loved this house and it was very quiet. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for making our family trip to Big Bear the best one ever!!

Great cottage. Great service
My Wife and I had a great time at this cottage. We we able to arrive early and Shelly contacted us to see if we needed anything. The cottage was centrally located minutes from the village and just a couple of minutes away from the market. Thanks for everything.
My family and I had a wonderful time enjoying the snow at Shelly’s place.
The place was very clean, plenty of towels and extra blankets.
It was very cozy and inviting. The kitchen is equipped with everything you’d need, the TV has access to a wide array of entertainment options, and with the open floor plan, it feels even bigger than listed.
We’ve been coming to big bear every year and this is the best spot we’ve stayed at so far. Thanks Shelly.

2nd stay at the Cozy Cottage
This was our 2nd stay in the Cozy Cottage. As before, the cabin was inviting, warm and perfect size for 2 adults, 1 child and 2 smaller dogs. Great location with dog park just few minutes away. Not sure if the bed in the "master" bedroom was changed since the last time, but my husband and I could barely fit (I'm 5'8 and he is 6'3) and although the bed was comfortable it was super bouncy. Otherwise, Shelly was super responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend!

Cozy Cabin
Took my husband for his birthday weekend getaway with our two young daughters this past weekend. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised with the birthday sign, balloons, cake, and even a gift for my husband! It was such a special touch. The cabin was just perfect for our family of four. There were plenty of blankets, a well stocked kitchen, cable TV, heater, and it was walking distance from the lake and a small park for the kids to play in. The village was also just a few blocks away. We would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you Shelly for the quick communication and for sharing your warm, cozy cabin with us!
The location was awesome. The house was updated and well equipped. The only issues were the beds, which caused our family to leave at 11pm the first night. They both had a significant sag in the middle and they were afraid of falling through. After our stay the host said if she had known she would have replaced the beds. 11 pm on 7/2? Did they know they needed to be replaced? Would return if the beds were replaced.

Little cabin at the lake
After 15 years in travel industry I love to see yhings done right. Booking the cabin online was easy, correspondence flawless and cabin exactly as described.
It was great to find the heating on and wifi running smoothly. The only remark we have is about the heating unit. Although it was heating great, once it reached desired temperature it would stop with a super loud fan noise that would wake us up in the middle of night. Also some more door hooks around the house for jackets and towels would be great. Everything else was spot on. We would book this cabin again in a heartbeat.

Overpriced
I really wanted to like this place, because of the location, but it was way overpriced.
It looks like is a good price until you are checking out and forced to buy insurance. That bumped up the price significantly.
The kitchen is outdated, cabinet drawer falling out. Dishes and utensils old.
The tv is just placed over the cable box, not even on its feet, just waiting to be knocked over.
Pet hair everywhere, my son sat on the floor and got covered in it.
You have to drive your trash somewhere, else you will be charged 10$ a bag.
The property worked perfectly for us. It is centrally located and walking distance to the lake, playgrounds and restaurants. Had a nice weekend and would stay here again.
We went up to Big Bear for a nice Fall Getaway and wound up in a winter wonderland! There was more than a foot of snow and I was scared we would not be able to get into the cabin. When we arrived and opened the door it was like we had opened the door to Christmas! The cabin is adorable and there was Christmas music playing. It was warm and cozy and inviting! The walk way had been shoveled the next morning and the driveway plowed by the afternoon. We will definitely stay there again, winter or summer!
This was a great place to crash while we visited Big Bear for an event at Snow Summit. Location was perfect and the cabin was cozy and comfortable. Management was super responsive and very accommodating. Highly recommend!
This cozy cottage was prefect for my wife and me, along with our small dog. It was within walking distance to the boat tour pier, the quaint village, and minutes to the lake. It was stocked with all of the necessary items and had a brand new gas grill.
We highly recommend it.

Cute and well stocked cabin
The cabin is really tiny but the thought and love put into the place really made the experience all worth it. The cabin surprised me by going the extra mile and providing a fully stocked kitchen. Usually when staying at a cabin I either choose to go without seasonings or splurging on things but this place came with all sorts great amenities. I will definitely be back!

Perfect little cottage for our trip
Stayed here for a couple of days of skiing. It was great for our family of 4 (2 kids 9 and 13). It had everything we needed. Easy to get to, close to the ski area, little extras like snacks and bottled water were a nice touch.

Great location, cute cabin, very responsive owner
This is a great choice for a stay in Big Bear. Shelly is very responsive to any questions and issues, the cabin is impeccable and very cute, and the location is great. It's a 2-min walk to the shore of the lake and the cabin is surrounded by towering trees. It's very peaceful.

About the host
Hosted by Shelly Smith
My name is Shelly, I'm a native of Utah, and a Realtor in Orange County, CA. I moved to Southern California almost 23 years ago. About three years after that I discovered Big Bear. Its always been a dream of mine to own property in the area and now with a smile, I can say I do :-)
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with Big Bear on a vacation more than 20 years ago. I knew right away I wanted to have a place to call my own out here and now I have a few in Big Bear. I love the area by the lake, its quiet but still close to everything the city has to offer. I hope you get the chance to visit and you find it as enchanting as I do.
What makes this property unique
Quiet Days, Days filled with long walks and relaxation with scenic views... Than there are the days where we go boating or snowskiing depending on the weather. Its simply a place that has to be on everyones bucketlist
