A relaxing piece of heaven

We had three weeks to relax at this beautiful lake. We had several of our local friends over and ALL of them loved spending time there. We hope to repeat our stay next year.

What we were looking for. Peace and quite. The house should have been cleaned before we moved in

Great overall. Issues I had was cleanliness on arrival and a request for an owners signed rental agreement was not provided. I agreed to leave the property in a cleaner place then we arrived. I agreed. On arrival among other items of housekeeping the floors needed cleaning, the furniture was dusty, a used facial tissue was under the bed, among other cleanliness issues. I felt my reach out left me little satisfaction. The issue was not remedied. We left the house way cleaner than we arrived. In reaching out for an answer to my second cleanliness comment, I have yet to receive a response.

A "Golden Pond" experience

If you are looking for a "Golden Pond" experience, you have found the right place! This cottage has been tenderly lived in and loved for many years. You can see it and feel it in every room, which adds to the charm. There is cable and internet service, but don’t expect all of today’s greatest conveniences. Besides, if they were there, it would not have fit the experience we were looking for. The cottage is located in a deeply wooded area, so it is very quiet, as is the town. The sunsets are beautiful from the expansive screen/glass porch across the entire pond-facing side of the house! We spent most of our time in that area, as you could almost touch the water! The best part of the stay was the calling of the loons heard most nights and early mornings. That sound will forever remind me of our stay, and the peacefulness of our “On Golden Pond” experience. We will treasure it forever. Tracy, the owner was very responsive – from the point of rental to check in, right through our entire visit. Thank you Tracy. We would highly recommend building memories at this beautiful property.

Loon Pond

This cottage is ideal for an escape to quiet and relaxation. Loon Pond is stunning. Note that there are extensive restrictions around water use due to the pond being a watershed. The cottage is old and requires some patience as you might except.

Serene, quaint, spacious cottage with stunning lake views

If you are looking to really get away from it all, this is the place. The house is right on Loon Pond, aptly named for the loons which swim and fish in the waters and call to each other with their distinctive cry. No motors boats allowed so it is exceptionally peaceful and beautiful. We kayaked every day, launching right from the back yard. We loved spending time on the large enclosed all-season porch with wrap-around windows providing stunning views of the lake, woods and hills. There is good hiking through wooded trails about 10 minutes from the house. And an awesome Turkish restaurant in town with amazing food. Plus, there are a lot of attractions just an hour and a half drive from this peaceful oasis -- specifically, whale watching in Portsmouth NH situated on the Gulf of Maine -- if you go, we recommend Grate State Whale Watching! And, don't forget Sky Venture in Nashua -- our teenaged boys had a great time there, you can "fly" in a sky diving simulation or surf on real waves, all indoors. Fun, family activity rain or shine. We will def. be back to Loon Pond.
