The name says it all! This log cabin is truly the getaway you've been looking for! Not only does it offer satisfaction and contentment for you and everyone in your party, it is the gateway to all the many mountain attractions that WNC has to offer. Locally, take part in one of the many festivals held in downtown Maggie Valley, visit the antique stores and flea markets, or experience the Ghost Town chair lift or zip lines. Just 5 miles away, discover quaint historic Waynesville, NC, where you can spend the whole day exploring shops containing unique and beautiful local arts and crafts, try out the many and varied local restaurants, or take in a play or other cultural event. Famed Biltmore Estate constructed for the Vanderbilt Family in 1895 is in Asheville, NC, just a short 30 minute drive away. Enjoy all the sights and sounds that Asheville has to offer on your visit there. Just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Maggie Valley, you'll find Pigeon Forge, TN and Dollywood where you can enjoy the many attractions there. Plan on daily picnics by local mountain creeks, kayaking in Lake Junaluska, skiing the Cataloochee slope, fishing J Creek, or just watching the cows from the front porch of Contentment Place. Golf Tournament Trip

We play in a golf tournament every year in Maggie and normally stay at Maggie Valley golf resort. We decided to change it up and rented the cabin. We really enjoyed out stay and hope to book the same cabin again next year.

The house was amazing as always. We really enjoy staying at Contentment Place.The host/ owner is great to work with.The beds are all comfortable and the back deck is the place to be outside. I would highly recommend this house.

This cabin was large, very clean, fully functional, and welcoming. Plenty of space, plenty of supplies for 5 days, and a good central area to explore The Smokies. My only complaint is that I am no longer sitting on one of the massive porches sipping my coffee or wine.

Perfect Get Away

We have stayed in this cabin twice and hope to return often. It is very clean, comfortable, has everything you need, and in a really fun neighborhood. We love front porch coffee and morning walk around the neighborhood to get the day started. Maggie Valley is great base location for adventure. I am homesick for the place writing this review!!

The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Spent a lot of time on the back deck and front porch. Enjoyed seeing the elk from the front porch. Beds were comfortable and the location was close enough to visit Waynesville and Cherokee. Enjoyed all the quaint shops in Maggie Valley.

We had such a wonderful experience at this cabin! The cabin was so wonderfully laid out, had very comfortable beds, was in a great location, and in an wonderful and safe neighborhood! Contentment Place is our mountain getaway for refreshing ourselves in the mountain air when we need it. It's so wonderful, we find that we need it quite often!

Why they chose this property

My family travelled to this part of the NC mountains when I was a child. My father was the son of a saw filer who travelled from one logging camp to another. I remember my Dad pointing out to us all the places he had lived in and loved as a young boy growing up. When my husband and I had our son, we also introduced him to the mountains of NC - as well as the mountains in other states and other countries, but we love the convenience and beauty of the NC mountains! Whenever my son was ever asked his choice of exotic vacations, he'd usually say, 'Let's go to the mountains!' This log cabin in Maggie Valley seemed like the perfect place for us to make our home away from home!

What makes this property unique

This property speaks to us. It is comfortable and charming, yet convenient and close to everything! We have our peaceful mountain views from our front porch and the bold sounds and sights of rushing creeks nearby when that's what we crave. Nestled by the fire or out and about, our Contentment Place is truly that - contenting!
