High Ceilings and Large windows make this home a place where the weight of the world fades away.
There is one bedroom with a queen bed, one queen size sleeper sofa (with a gel mattress) in the great room as well as a blow up queen mattress. A great place for two to six for a fun weekend.
My 'Girly Industrial' house theme is expressed in the pink accents, hand painted black peonies on the grey concrete floors to the truss joist with car-decking for the ceiling creating a loft like space.
I put in 'old lady' steps to easily get into the water off the dock so more are able to enjoy the lake on a hot day.
My house is designed for accessibility no curb for the shower 36 inch wide doors and it is all on one level. I brought my friend who is in a wheel chair for a weekend and she was happy to be so independent. For further details please call.
I am not always at a computer ( I am somewhat of a luddite) so my response time is not instant. I am at my computer on Mondays. Please feel free to call if time is of the essence. that is the best way to reach me.

We had a great stay at Lake Samish! Jennifer’s property is a fantastic waterfront experience with incredible views and full of everything you need for a getaway. Will definitely be back.
My husband and I and our two dogs had the best week at Jennifer’s lake house. It was the perfect location for easy access to downtown Bellingham and the Port! Jennifer has excellent style and an artistic flair that shows in every aspect of her house. We will definitely be back!
I needed to get away for a quiet week and that's exactly what I got. The water view was relaxing and the house is perfect. This is our second time staying. Love the house, art, and location.
Jen is an amazing host! Everything from booking, checking in, directions to the house, and meeting her on day one was awesome! If Jen will have us back we will be back. Much Mahalo for everything!

Ok, but needs some work
It was a delightful location. Needed some help on amenities and privacy. Loved the garage door opening, loved the dock.
Perfect base from which to visit family and friends in the area. Kitchen/dining area was very pleasant (equipment, space and outlook outlook) for meals and visits. Overall exceeded my expectations.
This was perfectly perfect in every way. From the stunning views to the comfortable bed, great shower, and bathtub. We could not have asked for better. There is a large dining room table that can easily accommodate the whole family for dinner. But the lake itself is the star of the show and don’t forget there’s a beautiful baby grand piano.
We had to travel from Michigan to Bellingham for a wedding. This space was the perfect option for us. Quiet, calm, clean and so easy. The deep tub & rain shower were highlights, as was the view of the lake! It's a couples retreat for sure. The location just off the highway made it simple for us out-of-towners to get around easily. Would stay again.
This place was very relaxing and since the weather was fairly wet, it gave us a great excuse to lounge on the couch and enjoy the lake views. Would like to come back when sun is out to enjoy kayaking on the lake. Quiet peaceful neighborhood and everyone seemed very welcoming on morning walks with our puppy! Wheelchair access worked for us. There is one step at the entrance that required some assistance and next time we’ll bring a bath chair with back support; otherwise we didn’t need special equipment.
We had a lovely 3 night stay. The place was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the living room was amazing. We will definitely be back :)
Lovely spot. So different than any place we have rented lately. Great art. Unique style. Jen has a good eye for interior design, which invokes good conversation. We plan our meals and had no problem cooking up three meals a day. Neighbors seemed nice and quiet. It was just what the Dr. ordered. Rest and relaxation. We would definitely consider another visit.
and the opportunity to stay in a beautiful executed shipping container right on Lake Samish. Accommodation,
surroundings and experiences were just top notch!
We spent three nights in this house and loved every minute of it. The view is glorious, the art is wonderful and the house is really well-designed and very comfortable.
Jen was a great communicator. She gave us just the right amount of information and was happy to help is we had any questions or concerns (we had none). We hope to come back and stay again!
The Lake House is right on the shore of Lake Samish. The architecture, art, location, and amenities are fantastic. Close to everywhere we wanted to explore and a great place to hang out and relax after our adventures.
What a fantastic rental! Right on the lake with beautiful view. Jennifer was an incredible host. Great open interior. We will definitely be back. If you are there in April you must visit the tulip farms nearby, truly breathtaking.
Couldn't have been happier with this home. It was beautiful, cozy, had everything we needed and Jennifer was super responsive. Can't wait to come back!
We live only 40 minutes north of this property but needed a wee get away. The house was exactly as listed and exactly what we needed. My husband fished off the dock and from our wee boat that we tied up to the dock. It was wonderful sitting in the livingroom and on the patio watching the weather move across the lake and a bit of bird watching. Highly recommend this house.
I am an interior designer based in Seattle since 1975. Since 2020 I have been managing my projects from afar and working predominately from my Bellingham office.
In 2009 I designed and began building this house on Lake Samish. Fulfilling a life long dream of designing and building my own home. I tease my clients that I have had 40 years of practice on them when they see my house and like it.
I love my house and I enjoy sharing it with others..
Why they chose this property
I grew up on the lake I lived across West Lake Samish Drive (up on the hillaisw from this property) where my family still lives. They have lived at the lake since 1962.
I always dreamed of building a custom house on this slip of land that is my families access to the lake. I have been sketching for decades. So what you see is result of budget hitting dreams and shaking down into a comfortable relaxing place to be.
What makes this property unique
I grew up using the dock, swimming, skiing, and enjoying the lake however the first time as an adult I sat still and looked up the lake I felt the serenity of the view wash over me and I knew I wanted to live here.
So I have brought my precious things, my piano, art and Kitchenaid mixer (ha) to a space I can enjoy in anticipation of creating a place to retire. Until retirement I will share it with others and hope they can have a little piece of my dream for themselves.
