The loft in Paradise is just that, paradise! My family of four, our dog Pickles and Aunt/Uncle had a great time. The house was big enough to have our own space but brought us all together. Five minutes after we arrived, my family said that we are booking this again! Lots of wildlife as others mentioned, even a bald eagle from the kitchen table.
If you are looking for a getaway to fish, kayak, tube, bike ride, hike, or just get away with family and friends, you will not be disappointed here!
The property was spacious and relaxing. We made breakfast each morning in the kitchen and everything we needed was present.
The driveway can be hard to see if you are arriving after dark. I recommend you look at a map closely to know landmarks before and after.
The cabin exceeded all expectations!! It was very clean, had every kitchen plate, pan, appliance and utensil that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we saw several deer and their yearlings from the huge picture windows. The fire pit was situated on a patio area so you weren’t sitting in the grass with any insects. The host was extremely responsive and accommodating and we have already shared the information about this house with others we met biking. We had a fantastic long weekend!!

Great spot for a weekend getaway
Friends and I enjoyed a long weekend at this home in Cammal, PA. The Loft is quiet and peaceful. A great retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. The house was perfect for our group of 7, with 5 comfortable queen beds, and plenty of room to add two queen size air mattresses. The kitchen is indeed fully stocked, with plenty of dishes, pots, pans and utensils. The seating at the table/counter was perfect. We enjoyed dining outside on the deck as well as making use of the fire pit. The house is fully stocked with books, games and a variety of videos. We The driveway is a little tricky to find, but we were able to manage it in both an SUV as well as a sedan. We made use of the Pinecreek Outfitters for a bike shuttle per the recommendation of Carrie and Dave. They were great as well. We hope to return for another visit in a different season!
My wife and I are both north of 70 with bad backs and knees. I should have realized that this property had steps, a lot of them! Carry all of our stuff up the stairs to the living area took us quite awhile as we decided to only take up a small bag up at a time. This is truly a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay so I don't want to discourage able bodied folks from enjoying this property. Just want folks to be aware of the physical requirements. Only to be young once again, lol.
The Loft is always clean and the owners provide everything you will need from all of your linens to the best equipped kitchen of any rental place we have stayed. Carrie makes the check in process very easy when you arrive and gives thorough directions upon departure. Once there, you can play corn hole( provided), walk or ride the rail trail, or simply sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Definitely a cabin we will rent every year!!
This house had everything we needed for a home base for my sisters local wedding! The master bedroom is situated perfectly to set up a napping child and not have them hear any noises from the rest of the house. We would love to stay again!
We were in town for a 100 mile race and this home gave us easy access to all of the aid stations. Was comfortable, well stocked and plenty of room for everyone. The home is almost hidden on the hillside and hard to see and not well marked so look for the red barn on the opposite side of the road because the GPS address was a little off. The only thing my guests wished for was better internet access as there is no signal out there in the valley anywhere else but I don't know if that even exists? A warning when we pulled up there was a large (but beautiful) rattlesnake in the driveway under a truck. I think it was scared out of hiding by a lawnmower. Don't let it dissuade you - just a warning they do exist out there so use caution and we will all get along! He went along his way and all was well! We would definitely stay here again.
We all enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, spectacular views and peace and quiet. What a great home! Very well stocked with everything we needed. We appreciate the excellent communication with Carrie and Dave. Highly recommend this lovely home.
I had never heard of Pine Creek Valley but it is a beautiful out of the way place. Though we didn’t bring our bikes or kayaks, we should have. The rail trail seemed exceptional and the creek would have been lovely to row down. House was nicely furnished and the kitchen well outfitted. The wifi was sketchy for conference calls, but otherwise worked fine. No cell service anywhere in the valley though and most restaurants are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Very hot and humid when we were there—not sure if that’s the valley or we just had back luck. Definitely check out Hyner View State Park and try the meatball sub at McConnell’s!
Our two families with 5 kids and 3 adults, had a great time "off the grid." So yes, the internet is spotty and there is no cell service at the house but the house is fully furnished with actually extra rooms set up in the garage and games and movies (DVDs -- we knew this in advance and brought some of our DVDs too). The house is very comfortable -- the back bedrooms are roomy and beds comfy. The loft is a good size and we brought sleep masks since it is open air and exposed to the beautiful, large windows that don't have shades (great view!). Carrie did recommend we bring in our own cooking/drinking water so needed to find space for that -- but there is a local market a few miles either way. The rail trail is right nearby -- we wish we brought our bikes, but enjoyed the local state parks and hiking. Would certainly recommend the home to others!
Very beautiful, clean, and cozy loft with views looking out over central PA mountain forestland. This is a quiet and peaceful location, less than an hour drive to the Grand Canyon of PA, and a short walk to rail trails along the Pine Creek.
I can't say enough about how awesome this property is !!! First time for some of the girls. So clean, great location for jogging and biking, and had everything we needed. Will rent again same time next year. Thanks, Carrie and Dave
Great place for our rail trail and fall foliage vacation. Would definitely stay there again. Well appointed kitchen. Wifi was patchy as described, but who comes to the mountains to be connected. Little Pine State park was very close and was the highlight of our stay.
Love the area and this cabin is a great place to stay! Lots to see and do. The deck and the fire place made for an awesome place to return to after filled days!
We are both Penn State alums and continue to live in State College, Pa with our family. We have been coming to the Pine Creek for many years to camp and play. We fell in love with this house and continue to enjoy many peaceful weekends here. We look forward to having you enjoy the 'Loft' as much as we do!
