Perfect Getaway

This place is the perfect getaway. Close enough to activities but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Cindy and Gary are outstanding hosts. We had a great time swimming, fishing, and playing with the dogs. We will be back for sure.

The Most Amazing Weekend!!!!

We stayed here for a weekend getaway with my husband and our four kids. I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations they had for a large family. We got to have a hay ride, a camp fire and lots of marshmallows. The owners were so sweet to our kids and made us feel like family. My kids are still talking about it. Down town was fun too. We went to a few stores and ate at the best hamburger joint in town. We will definitely return this summer when their pool will be open.

Wonderful farm and hosts!

Great place to fish, swim, and relax! Cindy and Gary are so nice and thoughtful, and made our stay amazing. Our family loved it all, especially swimming in the pool and fishing at the beautiful and private lake. We had an incredible experience of Southern Virginia, including memorable trips to nearby Mt. Airy, NC, and we hope to come again!!

Pleasant surprise meeting place for our two families

We were taking our 9 yr-old grandson there to meet up with his parents after spending 11 days with us. We live in OH & our son & family live in SC. The farm setting was wonderful & we enjoyed the pool & fishing in the pond. Had Very Interesting conversations with the owners. They met all our needs.

Peaceful last minute get away!

If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place! We chose to stay in the mobile home, just off the hill from Cindy and Gary's home which is a B&B. I can not say enough good things about Cindy and Gary. They are wonderful people. It was like we have known them forever! The in ground swimming pool was perfect. The lake is nice. Beautiful scenery. And clean! Hospitality can't be beat! Just a short drive to Mt Airy if you want to go out and eat. If we needed wifi, tv or cell service, we just went to the living room of the main house. The mobile home has a big tv with lots of movies! We will be back!

Wonderful Family Vacation

My family and I stayed over the 4th of July weekend and couldn't have asked for a better getaway. Cindy and Gary were very accommodating and went above any beyond of what we were expecting. There was a total of 6 of us (4 adults, 2 toddlers) and the home was very spacious and had everything we needed, including coffee, creamers, towels, toiletries, etc. We were 2 minutes walking distance to the river and the in-ground pool located on the property. We were only 6 miles from Mt. Airy, which is a cute little town to go through with restaurants and antique shops. There is also a very nice park/playground for kids right in town. Gary and Cindy took us on a tractor ride and also had smores waiting for us to assemble at the fire pit after we watched the fireworks in town. We will definitely book with them the next time we return to the area!

Soul Ease

I was looking for place to ease my soul after many life stressors. Wolf Creek Farm offered that and much more. Both Cindy and Gary offered an easy environment for me to kick back and relax and truly made me feel at home with their genuine warmth. No need for frills here! The campfire warmed my soul and Cindy's breakfast was a welcome treat from my usual grab and go breakfast. I have already booked my next stay!

About the host

Host profile image
Gary is retired from a utility company and raises Black Angus Cattle. Cindy is a registered nurse who works part time. We have two children and five wonderful grand-children. We enjoy motorcycling, fishing, bicycling and spending quality time with our family.

Why they chose this property

We had been looking for a special place to retire, and we believe the Good Lord sent us here! It is the perfect place for Gary to raise and work his cattle. The ambience of the 1920's farmhouse and having Laurel Glen Cottage to fix up especially for couples and families has been a dream of ours for years. It didn't hurt that the property already had a fully stocked lake and an in-ground swimming pool.

What makes this property unique

We have been made stewards of this 102-acre private retreat just perfect for travelers desiring to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We love the woodlands and pastures in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The quiet beauty of the land and being able to enjoy the cattle on our own land is overwhelming at times. It is so quiet here, we can hear the cows eating grass! When you visit Wolf Creek Farm, you don't see any other houses ~ just pasture, woods and mountain foothills. Feel free hike the many walking trails, and the fire pit is great for roasting marshmallows under the stars.
