Relaxing and Beautiful Get-Away
We wanted to stay in one place during our two week vacation this year because in past years we have stayed in multiple rentals wanting to widen our touring options. Having two weeks in one location meant we could explore more of this beautiful island and come back to a retreat
We ate most meals outside with the spectacular view. We only ate out at restaurants a few times, opting instead to buy special ingredients and eat at the cottage since there wasn't a restaurant with as nice a setting as this cottage.
There are plenty of interesting things to see in the lower Vancouver Island area. We went to Butchart Gardens, the Victoria Butterfly Garden, the Provincial Museum, a local farmer's market, and an art show in Sooke.
This place was just what we were looking for. Jeannie's Beach House is very quiet and secluded with the only sounds being geese coming and going and a pair of Trumpeter Swans who claim the Albert Lagoon home. There are a couple of Eagles here as well.
The house was immaculately clean and well stocked with everything we needed. There was also a vegetable garden space where Jeannie said we could help ourselves. We were able to have fresh zucchini, tomatoes, and a variety of herbs. There would be more things at different times of the year.
Jeannie has a large selection of books to satisfy any book worms needs.
Jeannie is a super host, being available for communication whenever we called her. She left us to our privacy and was very friendly to talk with.
