Great property!

Lots of stuff to do not only at the cabin but around the cabin as well. There are lots of trails not only for hiking but riding ATVs as well. Lots of lakes around this property to explore and swim in. Beautiful cabin that easily held 8 of us and was well stocked. Will be going back!!

Beautiful A frame on a beautiful peaceful lake, surrounded by wooded foothills. Perfect for relaxing with kids from 7 m to 70+ y. Close to many NW Montana hotspots, but quiet and secluded. We loved it! Looking forward to next visit.

Private Get Away from it all!

The cabin was clean, charming and had everything we needed. The lake is very private and special. The area around the cabin was great for hiking and off roading. We saw a lot of wildlife. We enjoyed eating at the Kicking Horse Saloon on a few occasions right down the road. This is the perfect place if you want to relax and not have to answer a cell phone. The kids had a blast in the lake and playing many different board games provided. We would stay here again in the future. I recommend renting the pedal boat. The kids had a blast in it...

The cabin was all that I expected and more! It was clean and neat and had all the comforts of home plus a fabulous view!! We had a great time though I wish I had spent more time relaxing there. We used the cabin as a base camp for different adventures so with all the miles we traveled we got home kind of late to enjoy all the property had to offer. I would definitely visit again and have recommended the cabin to others. Kootenai Falls was awesome. I would recommend this to others. Just driving and taking in the scenery was a favorite pastime.

Extremely Clean and Beautiful Property

Stayed there with my wife and two boys (18 & 16). Did plenty of hiking at Glacier National Park and Kootenai National Forest. Was very pleased to arrive at an immaculately clean and well supplied cabin. Felt like I was staying at a relative's place. I know you can't rely on supplies being at a rental but it was so nice to see things in stock in case you ran out of anything. Plenty of clean dishes, pots & pans, Tupperware, etc.. If you like the location and want some privacy in a great place, just book it. A/C worked great and everything was perfectly maintained. Wi-Fi is weak but that is to be expected. Loved this property and had the best experience with my family. One of our best vacations ever!! Thanks Stacy!

Calgary family of four including 2 teenage boys)

Our family enjoyed this cottage and lake for 2 very relaxing weeks. It was wonderful to truly relax enjoying the peace and comfort of this lake cottage. We weren’t sure if two weeks at one lake would be too long but it was great. It worked largely because everything was so well set up. The canal connecting both lakes gave us the option of enjoying both a small and medium size lake. The lake was great for swimming, boating, and fishing. It was so nice to enjoy a lake with warm water. The pedal boat was great for fishing in the shallows. Steve and the boys caught a lot of small fish, a few medium fish, but never went deep enough for the big one. There were a lot of turtles in the water. It took a couple of days of hard work for our 14 year old son to catch one. Catching one was a highlight of the trip for sure. The crayfish are silly animals to catch – we let them all go. Sitting on the lake front with a camp fire many evenings was a very good family experience. The cabin had all the amenities we could want, easily accommodating all of our needs. The newly renovated bathroom was a bonus. We had a couple of rainy days that were perfect for visiting Libby and Kalispell, and do grocery shopping. We used WIFI to watch Netflix on a couple of those rainy evenings on the new big tv. Glacier Park is also close and so we made a couple of trips there, but our focus was truly to just relax and enjoy the lake.

We want to come back

We stayed at the lakehouse for five nights. There are 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 kids under age 8. We have stayed at many VRBO places before and while not the most luxurious, this place was our favorite. It is very remote, but has a charming, tiny little shop/restaurant/espresso stand just 2 blocks away. The view from the cabin is worth the price on its own. The lake temperature is perfect for swimming all day and the lake itself looks and smells impeccably clean. The pictures cannot do it justice. The little lake is translucent up to about 10 feet, and you can see the turtles and crawdads and little fish scatter while you swim and boat. The beach is safe for children and the swimming dock is the perfect distance from shore. We stayed on mostly weekdays and really did have the whole lake to ourselves. We rented the paddle boat which meant the older kids could paddle around the whole lake on their own. This place is clean and spacious and extremely well appointed; I think the owners still stay there frequently, because there were a lot of little conveniences we aren't used to finding in a VRBO rental (flashlights, marshmallow sticks, firewood, flour, spices, etc). We had smores every night under a canopy of impressive stars, spent a full day at glacier and hiked all around Libby. The Hidden Lake hike at glacier was doable for the family, and the cedar grove walks (both in the Kootenai forest and at glacier) were like a huge playground for the kids. The Kootenai bridge and falls walk was also really fun. We caught crawdads and made a nice pasta dish with them. We tried to catch turtles (just to play with), but they were too fast... The beds were comfortable and the place just feels perfect. Stacy, the owner was helpful throughout the rental and an absolute pleasure to deal with. The only things to keep in mind are that the spacing on the deck is a bit wide for an infant (just had to keep an eye on her) and there is no dishwasher. This place was absolutely wonderful, and we can't wait to come back. Tomas and family

Cozy and wonderfully quiet!

The cabin and lake were just what we needed for a quiet week with very little communication with the outside world! Our granddaughters could not have had more fun catching and releasing turtles. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Great mountain getaway!

Wonderful balance of accessibility and privacy. Great location, spacious and comfortable property close to endless lakes, streams and trails. The private lake (clear, deep and cold) plus the available row/paddle boats was a bonus for a great family getaway. Our only concern was that the beds were very soft, a bit uncomfortable for someone with old back injuries. We would gladly return without question!!

The Dolan House on Lake Levon

This was our second time at the Dolan house on the Lake, and like before it was a great place to vacation. Cabin is very supplied with all the necessities needed. Stacey is such a great person to deal with, and we even gave her some Pennsylvania Deer bologna to try, which she really enjoyed. Cabin is clean, and both Crystal and Levon Lake are great to kayak in. I'm sure we will be back again.

Perfect Lake Front Cabin

Loved staying in your lake front cabin. One of the cleanest, if not the cleanest home I have ever stayed in. Plus very well equipped with supplies and cooking utensils. Enjoyed fishing on the lake and nearby creeks. Libby is only a 20 minute drive and has cute shops plus a great sports store we enjoyed. Would highly recommend this cabin for anyone coming to Montana to hike, fish or just relax. You will not go wrong by booking this one! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home!

Our 10 year-old is already talking about next summer!

What a great place. We stayed here for a week in August, 2016 and could not have been happier with the cabin. Perfect quiet remote location. It had everything we needed and plenty of space for our "gear." It could have accommodated a couple more people easily. The lake was lovely and quiet, and the swimming was spectacular. We went to Libby a couple of times as well as sight-seeing at the Ross Cedars and the Kootenai River Falls. I'll be voting for coming back soon too.

Awesome!

This cabin was everything we could have asked for and more! I have rented numerous times through VRBO and have been happy with every experience but this cabin had everything but food and our clothes! Just about everything you could have asked for was there for our pleasure! Be sure to rent the paddle boat - my granddaughter and I had lots of fun adventures in it and it was great to use to get to the floating dock when we wanted to go fishing! I have to say the pictures do not do this beautiful cabin/home justice! Working with Stacy and Doug was a pleasure as well. Very helpful owners and willing to make our stay as pleasant as possible......even with a few nightly visitors! :-) I would highly recommend renting this breathtaking home - you will not be disappointed!

Doug and I are both in the health care fields. Doug is an optometrist and I am a physical therapist. We both love to fly fish. We were born and raised in Montana and we love the outdoors. Katy is a great swimmer and like me, she enjoys downhill skiing. I especially like to travel and we try to take a trip somewhere every year. Doug enjoys exploring the mountains around the cabin on the 4 wheeler.

Why they chose this property

Back in 2003 we found this cabin and we both liked it right away. I spent many weekends at an A-frame cabin on a ski hill owned by friends of my family while growing up and so this cabin feels very comfortable and like 'home'. We especially liked the gently sloping entrance into the water as Katy was very young when we bought the cabin. We both felt it was easy to get to, not far from our home, and obviously had many recreational opportunities in every direction.

What makes this property unique

Our family appreciates the quiet at the cabin, and time to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lake is spring fed and is especially good for swimming because of the warmer temperatures and we all love to swim. Spending time here 'recharges our batteries' and lets us reconnect with each other.
