Beautiful apartment in a perfect location. Less than 10 minute drive to Tulane, 15 min to French quarter and a short walk to the shops and restaurants on Magazine St and the trolley on St Charles
The home is such a cool historic building with a charming spiral staircase and giant windows looking out over a pretty backyard garden. The beds were surprisingly super comfortable and we were in walking distance of lots of great shops, restaurants, and trolly stops. Definitely recommend for those who want an authentic New Orleans experience.
This property has a beautiful sun room and a great backyard to sit and relax. It’s about half way between Magazine Street and St Charles. A very easy walk to the streetcar. We took the streetcar to the French Quarter and to some great restaurants. If you are in the mood for Italian you should go to Vincent’s or you can try Lebanon Cafe for Mediterranean. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable. The kitchen comes stocked with coffee and tea. The bathrooms have plenty of towels. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this property with friends while visiting New Orleans and had a wonderful time. We loved the historic features of the home and the courtyard is beautiful.
We feel so fortunate to have stumbled on this place online. We originally booked the Chloe and decided instead to go with this lovely VRBO. Absolutely the right decision! Greg was soooooooo nice and just a lovely person as well as welcoming. The place is in the back of a stately old southern house with an incredible courtyard filled with lush gardens and trees and incredibly quiet. Being from Nola, staying at this home in one of my favorite parts of the city filled me with nostalgia and reminded me of how special this town is. The home is a real authentic slice of old New Orleans and it takes you back in time. The details are perfect and so much appreciated.
The location is perfect. It is so close to the streetcar and Magazine Street. One thing that was important to us was that it was safe and quiet. We felt comfortable hitting up Superior Seafood and meeting friends at the Columns for cocktails.
We so look forward to coming back again and again. :)
Space was very clean and just as described. Welcomed in person by owner. Older home with unique settings so come with an open mind. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
The house was incredible! The hosts were very accommodating and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and how to navigate around town. Would highly recommend this house for your next visit to NOLA!
Good location and easy to get around. The apartment lacked in cleanliness and had some maintenance issues. Although it wasn't really an issue with us, there was no cable TV.
My family (wife and 3 kids ages 4-9) really enjoyed our stay. Greg made us feel very welcome and even let our kids feed the fish in the garden courtyard. The property was as pictured and is located in a great part of town. We walked to the St Charles Streetcar and to shops on Magazine St. No issues with street parking.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely vacation rental and I couldn't be happier with our choice. From the moment we met Gregory and stepped inside, we felt immediately at home. The property is beautifully furnished and decorated and everything is spotlessly clean.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals and there was plenty of space for everyone to gather around the dining table. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, with plenty of storage for our belongings. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of towels and toiletries provided.
The scenery from the courtyard was simply breathtaking. We spent many afternoons lounging in the peaceful courtyard while our daughter befriended a few local cats.
The location of the rental is also ideal, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The trolley is just a short walk away but since we had a car we drove most places and found parking easily enough throughout our adventures around town.
Overall, I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing and well-appointed rental property in a beautiful location. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Gregory's place in Tuoro. There are some quirks about the apartment to be aware of: difficult stairs, a very low showerhead, etc.--but they're nothing that should keep you away from this lovely place.
We came tired and cold, turned the corner on the garden path and got that instant vacation mood boost. The apartment is easy to love, and the garden and the beds a particular pleasure. We used public transport with ease (get a Jazzy pass!) and there are lovely restaurants nearby (Basin and Shays on Magazine, Barracuda down by the train tracks). The spiral stair case is for agile adults/older kids and not suit cases, but the bedroom upstairs is wonderful. Thank you Greg and Marjorie for hosting.
Access to upstairs bedrooms can be an issue for some
Greg very accommodating and responsive to our needs. Lovely apartment with large outdoor. Quiet neighborhood. Only issue was a circular narrow metal stairs that goes up to 2 beds up stairs. Can be an issue for people with knee issues etc. Can only get a very small suit case up the stairs.
We were in town for one of son's events at Loyola and needed a place where family could gather. Our stay here was great and Greg was very helpful meeting us personally on arrival. There are several comments that I hope future renters will find useful:
1. Parking is on the street but we never had any issue finding a close spot to park.
2. The location was great as we were able to walk to several places.
3. The apartment as floor to ceiling glass windows that look out to a spacious garden area. We didn't spend much time sitting outside but we certainly would have done more of it on a different trip. It is also a very quiet location making it easy to relax.
4. The apartment had all the basics we needed for this trip (which frankly wasn't a lot for this particular trip). While we didn't use the kitchen much, it appeared to be reasonably set-up for basic cooking and dining needs.
5. As with any older house, there are going to be some challenges. Being 6'4", there were the occasional height challenges with lighting fixtures and showerheads. For those needing to use the upstairs beds, the spiral staircase can be challenging for some.
Overall, we would happily stay here again on another trip.
Part of a historic home in the Garden District (or the adjacent neighborhood?) this apartment is lovely. The rooms are spacious and light. The kitchen is well-stocked. The mattresses are quality.
Place was great, only thing was the washer dryer wasn’t great and ruined our clothes with mold smell . They were kind and let us redry our clothes in there place but still wrecked after many washes :(. I’d rather know if it wasn’t working well.
This place is wonderful. Quiet within walking distance to Magazine St and St Charles street car. The owners couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. Highly recommend staying here.
