Peace and quiet in a beautiful and tranquil Leitrim setting.

We arrived to flowers and fresh fruit on the table and immediately felt at home! We were cozy and comfortable all week as we explored Leitrim and encountered wonderfully gracious and helpful friends. Thank you Mark for helping us enjoy our week and this journey thru this grand country.

Quiet country cottage in beautiful, scenic countryside

Lovely little cottage off the beaten track in Ireland's heartlands; well maintained property & very well looked after, situated at the end of a road with only two (very friendly) neighbours. Perfect getaway retreat with clean and tidy bathroom facilities, amenities, stove etc. Decent-size house for 4-5 people; spacious for a couple with a nice, large garden. We couldn't have been more satisfied.

Serene, beautiful, peaceful get-away in the gorgeous rural country.

Annagaderg was a quiet and peaceful change of pace. You feel so remote and away from it all, yet you are only 10 min away from villages and 20 min from a big town that has everything you'd need. Waking up to cows across the road and wandering down berry laden paths lowered all our blood pressures. I'm am certain that fairies still frequent here. A perfect place for an old school vacation in the country.

Escape to an Irish country cottage for some peace, quiet and relaxation.

Facing east the rising sun shines into all bedroom windows, the evenings are cool in the cottage even in July, so we put on the turf fire. Fully equipped kitchen, toilet & shower. Limited internet access which is not unusual in rural Ireland, enough to use your mobile. Comfortable and tasteful furnishings that augmented the character of the cottage. We hope to return to the cottage again for a break as we enjoyed it so much.

Beautiful unique home in a peaceful setting.

We stayed here for 3 days in July and had a really lovely time. The cottage is really quaint and pretty and makes for a relaxing holiday. There was everything that we needed and more provided including fresh bread, milk and butter to get us started. We have 3 girls aged between 7 and 12 who loved the stay also and the park close by was handy. Would stay another time and would happily recommend it to anyone.

Excellent base for a full immersion holiday in the Irish countryside

Tucked in a cul-de-sac off one of the many Leitrim country roads, the cottage is tastefully furnished and full of old charm, yet equipped with all modern conveniences. The area is dotted with lots of picturesque lakes with picnic facilities and fishing points. For some of them a rod licence is required, which is purchasable in a town nearby. The cosy village of Keshcarrigan is a 5 mins drive away. The county town of Carrick-on-Shannon with its shops, restaurants, water activities and busy nightlife is just 20 mins drive. And if the weather is not clement, you can always decide to stay in, sip a cup of tea by the stove and admire the wonderful Irish countryside around you! We loved our stay and will definitely return soon.

Lovely spacious well situated for area attractions

Hi Mark, Thank you for the flowers and fruit basket, they were unexpected and appreciated by all. We enjoyed our stay in your warm & cozy home, it was central to the sites we planned to see (thanks for the brochures on the area & flower book -came in handy) and the area is lovely. The bunk bed was an adventure I haven't had in many years but quite comfy! Melanie

Wonderful place

I was afraid that the house would be a bit small with 3adult and 4children ages 10-1 yrs staying ther but it wasn't Being out of town and off of the main road the children could play with out an adult being there every minute. And with the playground close they could go by themselves. When it was just my husband and myself the house felt nice a cozy and not to large.

Soggiorno piacevole

We had a great time. Mark's cottage was comfortable and cozy. Great place to return after a long day running around the countryside. Made some great memories kicking the ball around with my son at the GAA field just down the driveway.

Beautiful peaceful country setting

We had a wonderful time at this property. The owners did so much to make it a great week recommending places to go and places to eat. It was so nice to come back every afternoon and build a fire and enjoy the peacefulness of the area.

Family from Wales

This was our first visit to Ireland and the cottage was perfect for our family of 3 small children. There was plenty to do around the area and the park was a godsend in the evenings. The cottage was very homely and comfortable. The surrounding countryside was very peaceful and everyone we met were welcoming. Would definately make a return visit and recommend this as a welcome retreat.

Quiet and peaceful next to the lake

Mark is a lovely person. He met us to accompany to the house because the house is in the country rounded by farms, a lake and a hundred of metres a field of a “Gaelic soccer". He had prepared a welcome package with bread, fruit, milk, etc... He show us the village , the pub, where we can do shopping and he was always available, It's an interesting house, the first floor has 200 years but it's all restaured. You have all the commodities. I think you can fish in the lake but we didn't because we wanted to visit Sligo and Donegal. Beautiful land!

I Live in Dublin with my wife and children.
We have owned and used the house as a holiday home since we refurbished it in 2006.

Why they chose this property

When we were looking for a holiday home, we looked at lots of properties. This house had the perfect combination for us of private and country while close to the vibrant village of Keshcarrigan. Leitrim is the secret County of Ireland with only 25 thousand inhabitants, but only two hours drive from Dublin and an excellent location to visit the north and west.
It was a single story traditional long house built in C.1800s. It retains all the charm of the original cottage while the upstairs, added in 2006, has a bright modern feel.
The large garden is very peaceful and private surrounded by forests and farmlands.

The kitchen is well stocked and has a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine clothes dryer and espresso coffee maker. The bathroom has a walk in power shower.

What makes this property unique

This is a very cozy Cottage in a very peaceful and relaxing setting. There is lots to do in the general area but we like to stay about the garden and cottage and just relax.
As a family we like lots of music so we often leave Keyboards and Guitars in the house which guest are free to use. If there is anything in particular you would like for your stay just contact us in advance.

The cottage is in the country and so there is lots of wildlife in the area. There are bats, bees, badgers foxes, hare and deer in the area, as well as lots of birds~ cuckoos, owls, buzzards etc.
