This VRBO experience felt like we were staying at a friend’s cottage. The host responded to the questions I had within a couple hours, the linens were divine and abundant, the beds were comfy, the kitchen had every gadget we needed, the cottage was cozy/ elegant, the fire pit- a must from cocktail hour and on into the night-such a tranquil setting, No glitches whatsoever!
This property is perfect for a small family get-together. Off the beaten path, but well worth the extra drive for spending time away. We relished our time together enjoying the beautiful scenery, talking, and cooking. Couldn't have enjoyed it more and the hosts were fantastic and helpful with local information!
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. It was easy to check in - Tom was wonderful and very available for all of our needs. The actual house is beautiful, so cozy, well-decorated with picturesque views of the farm. It was an easy drive to Scottsville and Charlottesville for wedding activities. Highly recommend booking for an amazing stay!
Beautiful view, open space, Tom & Alicia, who manage the property, were helpful and generous. We had fresh eggs from the farm that were beautiful and delicious.
Don't count on the WiFi though. We didn't care, but some might if needed for work.
The property manager was amazing gracious and overall good people, he made my daughters birthday super special, he let's us help him pick chicken eggs the property is a farmers dream come true
Secluded spot, yet close to Charlottesville. We enjoyed lounging at the pond, roasting marshmallows over the fire and stargazing in a dark sky unpolluted by city lights. Our hosts were gracious and generous with their property (allowing us to have an engagement photo shoot) and their farm fresh eggs! It’s only a scenic 35 minute drive past numerous vineyards to visit Monticello and UVA. Already talking about our next stay!
We had a wonderful stay over New Years. the weather was delightfully unseasonably warm and we were able to go traipsing over the fields and the through the woods with our doggos--who were absolutely shattered after a full weekend of play. It was so nice to be in nature with limited cell and Wi-Fi service. We spent time with board games and just chatting, a novelty in this day and age.
The house was immaculate and wonderfully appointed. There was nothing we needed! We can't wait to come back.
Stayed a week at Woodland Farm outside Scottsville. Very nice house with all amenities you would want. Cellphone service and TV is spotty at best but had plenty of things to do.
It is remote so 10-15 minutes to Market and 45-55 to Charlottesville but knew this going in. Not much in Scottsville over Christmas week.
Want to relax, this is a nice option.
Chose based on the location and lodging and both lived up to the listing. Was a nice quiet weekend getaway and still close enough to visit some wineries in the area. Love a place that is not afraid of white linens, great mark of cleanliness. Kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner. Yep you can hear between the floors as the upstairs floor is the downstairs ceiling with no buffer between but I wouldn't let that stop me from staying here another time. Diana's communication was timely and helpful.
We had a group of four family members staying. We were in town for our daughter’s wedding. We needed someplace we could have their two dogs. We all loved the property! People and dogs alike. The house is very nice, decor really perfect for the house and farm location. So well stocked with towels, kitchen needs, everything. The linens were so nice, beds comfortable, loads of good pillows. Bathrooms very nice. Water pressure in the showers not great, but certainly workable. As other people have noted, noise does carry throughout the house, but really didn’t bother us much. We did not notice any sulphur smell to the water as some have mentioned.
Diana was a dream to work with, answering all my questions.
It’s a short drive into Scottsville, but a bit of a hike into Charlottesville proper. Maybe 50-55 minutes. But that goes along with being on a beautiful farm. We would totally stay here again!
We had the most wonderful week at the Farmhouse and can't wait to come back for another visit! Diana's house really is lovely... the beds are comfortable and look so inviting, the dining room is set up for long leisurely meals, and the kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. Bring your friends and family and get ready for some serious relaxing and star gazing. Thanks for sharing your house with us!
We had a great weekend visiting the area and our 5 yr old blue heeler had a blast touring the property!
Would highly recommend for any type of getaway-only wished we would have stayed longer!
Tom was an excellent resource!
This was exactly what all 6 of us ladies needed. The middle of no where with a grocery store and restaurants only 10 minutes away. The host- Tom and his wife were funny and friendly. Always quick to respond. They gave us eggs for the following morning breakfast which were greatly appreciated. The home was clean with any accessories needed. The WiFi worked well but no Verizon service until we were on the local roads. There was no bad water smell either. There is another home across the way. Far enough we didn’t interact at all. The two homes share the fire pit, pond, and game room. Which is attached to other house. We didnt use any of these amenities. It would have been nice to have our own fire pit in the back. The fireplace we had served our purpose. It was worth the stay.
I knew this would be a great rental immediately after the quick response of the owner in the process. She was quick to answer questions and gave us clear direction and info on the property. We were greeted by Tom, her brother in law who lives on the property. He was so welcoming! The house was cozy, clean and perfect for 2 or 8. We loved being able to bring our dogs and we walked the property often with them. Visited Scottsville for dinner and the Farmer’s Market. A lovely little town. We’ll rent again!!
Really neat whole log home with all the modern amenities on a gorgeous 200+ acre farm. Perfect spot to spend the weekend away from the kids. Lots of space to roam with our lab.
Just came back from a great weekend. The house was better than we expected. We had some snow the day before we left so everything looked amazing. Tom had plowed the driveway up to the house, so it was easy getting back there. The house itself was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We didn't have any cell signal, but the house has satellite TV and internet. We weren't streaming movies, but were able to listen to Spotify and check messages and the weather. We spent most of the time sitting around the fireplace which we kept going during the day. The kitchen was well appointed and has some basic spices and oils/vinegars, but was missing coffee and sugar, not an issue because we always bring our own and the grocery store is about 10 minutes away.
The rooms were very comfortable and the entire cabin was very quiet. My only complaint is the upstairs floor is exposed below, so you can easily hear anyone walking around and any noise comes straight through. I could hear the person in the room above me easily, every word they said and every sniffle and grunt like they were in the room with us.
This place was absolutely amazing. From the moment we booked the cabin to when we left, the owners were so friendly, informative and hospitable. The cabin is in a secluded, peaceful place for great relaxation, yet close enough to town to enjoy wine tasting and shopping. The cabin itself was warm and cozy and beautifully decorated. We HIGHLY recommend this place!
This farmhouse has a 360 degree view of meadows and woodlands. We enjoyed a beautiful sunny weekend relaxing, hiking, cooking and reading. Woodhaven Farm is a gem. Fully equipped with everything you need although we never found the meat thermometer which I’m sure we overlooked. Great communication with the owners. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed the charming farmhouse and the lovely setting. The only trouble we had was with the WiFi.
