Affordable getaway

House is affordable for the area. Furniture could be upgraded to more comfortable accommodations. But they worked for what we needed and the price was the best. The house has a good supply of towels and kitchen appliances.

Loved it so much! Second year in a row we rent it!!

This is the second year in a row we take our family vacation and rent this house. It’s absolutely perfect lots of room to move around specially if you have a big family it has everything you need. Everything is so close to the property Minutes away from the lake. The back yard was perfect specially on a summer night we enjoyed the BBQ grill. Highly Recommend it. Definitely will come again

Cute house

Our stay was comfortable and convenient to the different area restaurants and shops. There was no kayak as mentioned in the advertisement which was disappointing. Also, I have requested my security deposit back since it's been about a week and a half since our trip. I would have expected that to happen fairly quickly. Overall, though, good communication with owner and we enjoyed the house.

Great for sleeping, cooking a challenge

Residential with a fenced, private yard. One block away from a great health food store with kmbucha bar, bulk food, and wine. Billed for bigger parties, but the cooking implements were meant for a family of 4. Had to run to goodwill for a frying pan. Took an hour to boil 2 pkgs Of pasta. One small baking pan barely got our personal pizzas done while we watched the Olympics. Plenty of sleeping space for our family of 7. Basement nicely finished. Stayed here while family enjoyed Silverwood for 3 days. Would stay again but would bring big bowls for salads made with the organic produce from market!

Not bad but not great

As the title says, it's not bad but it's not great. The house is fairly small with a tiny bathroom. There was only 1/2 of a roll of toilet paper upon arrival. Owner advertises 'free bikes'. There are 2 bikes but they are in disrepair and unfit to ride. The address is wrong in VRBO so there was some confusion during check-in. The house is in a good neighborhood a block away from a commercial street with numerous dining and grocery options. Wifi was adequate, but TV remotes did not work.

Nice and clean

Our family of 8 stayed in this perfect size home! It was super clean and the owners were great. We had planned on staying at another rental but due to issues the owners offered this place for us to stay. It was perfect size and we loved the Lil private porch. We stayed home night but will stay again if ever in the area! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us!

Nice host but disappointing house

We were a large group coming in for a family celebration. We were excited to get to the house and had immediate disappointment when we realized that the listing saying you could sleep 15, can actually sleep only 11 comfortably. The beds were extremely uncomfortable sitting on the frame and not suited for adults, let alone couples. There was black mold in the bathroom tile and lots of dust bunnies under couches and beds. The DVD upstairs was also broken and wouldn’t work. We are normally a pretty laid back group but this house for the price was very disappointing.

Amazing Owners that Care

About a month before our stay we got the email that you never want to get before your vacation, specifically to a destination in such high demand. The owners let us know our original location was no longer available but instead of kicking us to the curb they actually gave us a more desirable location at the same price. They then ensured we had everything we needed with the extreme heat wave that hit Coeur d'Alene during our stay providing extra fans. They were in constant contact to make sure our stay was comfortable. The unit was completely redone and perfect for our family. Highly recommend any property these owners maintain.

Clean but not as nice as pictured

Multiple blinds broken severely especially in living room. Air conditioner doesn't work blender had no lid so used plate to cover. No hot pads so had to improvise. Beds were not very comfortable under some of beds the bars were broken. Purely an investment property. Clean but smelled so strong of pinesol we had to air it out the first couple hours. It worked for is but was not quite what we expected. Would stay again but only because it was a better price then alot of listing. Thought some details for others would be helpful. Also bring your own hand soap ect...

Dirty and location is not as described

Upon arrival found the location is no where near anything but a goodwill. Businesses behind the property were very noisy. Located near an extremely busy intersection that was loud all day and all evening. There is limited parking in front and the driveway is very tight. There was dried food stuck to utensils, knives, pots and towels. The floors were disgusting and filthy. There is no comfortable seating in this house. The futon couches lean way back and are so uncomfortable to sit on. There’s one horrible old chair that we all fought for. So we literally had nothing to relax on in the evenings. The house fan appeared to be broken so was afraid to even touch it, so didn’t get to use that. The title as advertised indicated 1 1/2 bath? There’s only one small bathroom upstairs only. Although it has a fenced yard, a panel is broken and literally taped together. If you have pushy pets they could easily break through it. The window blinds were broken in almost every window giving it lack of privacy in the front room and making it look somewhat ghetto. The stove was difficult to use as two of the burners would not light. All in all this place was the least favorite of where we have stayed over the last ten years. There is no pride shown in this home. And the cleanliness is a major thumbs down. We were very disappointed and felt we could have stayed in a nice hotel for the price we paid.

In need of a makeover!

Whilst Andrew the host was helpful & communicative, this vacation home left a lot to be desired! The garbage cans were overflowing upon our arrival (it was 105F so not pleasant odours!). The whole house was grubby. What looked like a bullet hole in the front window. Outside seating covered in dog hairs. Kitchen drawers broken. Stove burner broken. Towels stained. Just generally a feeling of lack of maintenance, tired & grubby. We felt so uncomfortable by mid-week we left a day early, just to get home to clean outdoor seating to relax on! Oh, and no kayak as advertised. Would not recommend.

Misleading Description and INFESTATION

The title did not clearly state that the mother in law unit around back was occupied. It only said that the MIL unit could be rented with the full house in June. We rented mid-May. It did NOT state "Shared Yard" like the other properties did. We were not told by the renter that the MIL unit was occupied at any point! There was apparently a couple renting the unit out back. We only rented the place because we wanted a safe, enclosed yard to let our young children play in, unsupervised, while we waited to close on our house. The couple out back also had a dog and we have 2 dogs. Our dogs would have gotten into a fight if we had not seen the couple leaving the 2nd day with their dog, which would have been a hazard for everyone involved. When we told the owner that we wanted our money back, he refused and offered to install gates on the front yard and back deck. While the front one did work, the front yard was incredibly small and not suitable for young children to play in like the back yard was. The gate he put on the back deck was useless and didn't even have a latch. Also, the gap underneath the fence my dog could've walked under without ducking. My kids could have pushed the gate open or crawled under it easily. The MIL Unit renters' dog could have crawled under it onto our back deck, as well. (Wait, there is MORE.) After the owner refused to let us have our money back and leave, we realized that there was the WORST ant infestion we have ever seen in the house. The owner was defensive and tried to tell us it was normal. We have rented many houses but NEVER have we seen an infestation so bad. If we say down to watch TV as a family, we would find ants on us.) When he had an exterminator come spray the outside, we found THOUSANDS of dead ants (and more live ones) in the downstairs bedroom. To make matters worse, the MIL renters woke us up at 11pm screaming and cursing at each other for 20 minutes. When we were trying to get back to sleep, we heard a knock at the door- the police asking where the screaming was coming from. All the screaming woke up our toddler. The owner made excuses for the couple out back. Once the summer prices went up on all the other houses, THEN the owner offered to let us go (because he wanted more money). By that point we were unable to financially afford this and were forced to turn him down. (VRBO had sent him a request to refund us in the very beginning of this mess, which he obviously ignored.) DO NOT RENT FROM HIM.

Wonderful home.

We had a wonderful time in Coeur d' Alene! The home was just what we needed. The tvs and one DVD, (the other worked on some movies but not all) did not work. When we told one of the owners, he came right over to help. It was not a quick fix, but we spent most of our time outside so no tv or dvd was not a problem for us. We had many staying there and everyone had a place to sleep. Plenty of sleeping spots!

Charming and great access to downtown

My family of 5 stayed for 28 days in this house and we had a great time. Any problems we had were immediately addressed and taken care of. It is an older house, but that just adds to its charm. The beds are double beds, but my 6'5" husband did just fine sleeping in them. We loved being able to walk to downtown, the parks, and all the excellent restaurants in the area. It was a great place to stay!

Simple, clean place with lots of room.

This fit our needs fairly well. Clean and simple. Kitchen is upgraded but the home is older. Original fixtures but not gross. Bathroom is smaller but works fine. Might be crowded if there are a lot of adults. Only "complaint" were the metal bedframes. They were quite squeaky but solid. Decent linens. It worked great as a place to stay for going to Silverwood and checking out downtown.
