Charming Village House In Medieval Village, Close To Beach And Nice
Le Perchoir is a renovated and cosy village house in the heart of Haut de Cagnes
Le Perchoir sits in a narrow street, leading down from the 13th century Grimaldi castle at the top of the hill. The balcony offers both a sea view and a view of the old village houses.
From the street, you enter into the combined living-room/kitchen, which also serves as a dining-room. The lovely Provencal kitchen - as well as all of the house - is fully renovated and well equipped. In this charming house, there is a little staircase here, and another one there. Walk up from the kitchen, and you will first get to a landing with the master bathroom, equipped with a tub, a shower, a wash basin and a toilet. Steps lead up to a loft with a double bed.
Another set of stairs takes you up to the little living-room, which opens onto the balcony, with a view to the sea. Back in the kitchen, you walk down a short staircase to get to the bedrooms. The bigger one sleeps two, while the walk-through guest room can accommodate one person. On this floor, there is also a shower room with a wc.

We know wonderful Haut de Cagnes well and, as an older person with a husband who cannot walk too far, Ip had a few important criteria for our stay.
The house had to have a balcony with a view of the Med, not too many stairs, a walk in shower and, most importantly, had to be close to a navette stop for getting up and down the hill.
It fulfilled all those conditions and as a bonus the manager of the property, the lovely Anna, was so helpful and even went as far as driving us to Antibes train station at the end of our stay.
From the time we landed in France, we enjoyed every single minute! Le Perchoir, was everything I dreamed it would be and even more! The community where the cozy village house is located is friendly and very accommodating! The finest restaurants are located at the top of the street with stunning views of the countryside. I can’t wait to go back and i just got home! Thank you, Glee for sharing your home with us and checking in on us throughout our stay!
One week here wasnt enough! I hope we make it back soon. The village of Haut de Cagnes is nicer than any pictures show. The people in the town are lovely and it is surprisngly not crowded with tourists! There is a children's park beside the castle that my kids loved and it has gorgeous views of Nice and the alps. The only downside- linens are not included in the price. We were told to pay 100 euros extra for linens, so we brought our own, which was inconvienant.
The village identity persists with a community of French and expats who are friendly and welcoming. The house is part of very old architecture with narrow streets and incredibly beautiful small spaces here and there. As other reviewers have noted, the narrow 3+ level building has a lot of stairs, and you must be able to climb what amounts to a ladder to get to a low ceilinged loft sleeping area. The kitchen has a two burner stove but is adequate for cooking meals which we did extensively while we were there. I had a great time at Le Perchoir. Both the owner and the property manager were extremely helpful and the area has many options for things to do, especially, for me, the Fondacion Meight.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home in a Medieval part of town in Cagnes Sur Mer. Anna the home manager is so warm and welcoming when we arrived at the house. My husband and I enjoyed the coziness of the home and felt really comfortable there. A lovely French experience! A short walk up the hill you will find great restaurants and the Chateau Grimaldi that you can tour and enjoy beautiful artwork. There is a shuttle bus that stops close by every 15 minutes that brings you into the city center (a three minute ride or less) where you can do all of the shopping necessary and head to the beach as well. Transportation is easy to use and to getting around to the different towns in the Côté D’Azur as well. Truly a great place to stay!
I would recommend if you have problem with stairs this is not the property for you
It was extremely hot when we were there (July) would have benefited from air conditioning .. but was many fans .. host was very helpful with all our questions .. bus basically right outside the door .. enjoyed our stay .. thank you ANNA 🙏
Charmantes Ferienhaus in toller Lage.
When we have planed our vocation in France, we wanted to find a place with an authentic atmosphere, a place where you can plunge into the atmosphere of old France. And now I think that Le Perchoir was a perfect choice. It is an old but pretty nice and very clean house on the hill. Though it is not always easy to go uphill when you park your car downhill, but it's worth it. Here is really quiet in the evenings compared to locations by sea. The view is great. There are some restaurants uphill with tasty food and also with a great view on the sunset, playground and small souvenir shop. There were 5 of us (family with 3 children - about 5, 8 and 16 years old) and there was enough place for us, though I think the house is not perfect for children under 3 years old, because there are many stairs there. The hostess is an encredibly nice. She sent us a lot of information and tips about the place around before our arrival.
We will be happy to come there again
Sehr authentisch, sehr provence-alisch!
Vielen lieben Dank! :)
Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit!
Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! À bientôt! :)
Loved our view of the Mediterranean from our balcony!
So Provençal and Convenient!

huisje in middeleeuws dorp
