Your Carolina Beach Getaway awaits! Come on down 🏖🏖

Wonderful old style ocean side cottage with amazing canal and sunset views that feature an open floor plan ready for you and your family to enjoy and make memories. Pirates are my passion and so is making a comfortable place for you and your family to truly enjoy the serenity of Carolina Beach. From it's old fashion board walk to the close proximity to Wilmington everyone will find something that they love about coming to the beach! Just some of the amenities:
1. Enclosed Outdoor shower with HOT water!
2. Storage space downstairs - bring your bike! It also has a variety of beach essentials and toys.
3. Huge deck with great views of the canal. There is a picnic table for dinner or lunch and chairs for relaxing. The breeze is amazing.
4. Open living area with HUGE sectional sofa and dining for six. Look at the photos - it doesn't do it justice.
5. Expanded cable with Wireless Internet.
6. Open kitchen with stainless steel appliances.
7. Expanding pots and pans for cooking meals at home. Save $$$!
8. Front Porch to RELAX as the sunsets
9. Decked out Pirate Bathroom - arrrrgh.
10. Washing Machine and Dryer.
11. Covered parking.
12. So close to the beach.
13. North End Minimart for all those missed items only a block away. They have great coffee. Oh, you forgot butter - check out the store!
14. Excellent HVAC system for comfortable air.
15. Ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
16. Double master with queen size beds in both rooms. One has a TV with expanded cable.
17. Pet friendly (just be nice and pick up after...poop isn't pretty!).
18. Board games just in case you want some family fun!
19. Across from public access deck on the canal - you can watch the boats go by on Dingy Dock.
20. A yard with gas grill - cook out!
21. Two Swings below to enjoy the ocean breeze

Beautiful sunsets over the canal & easy beach access made this a great place to stay. Nice roomy accommodations. We loved the deck on warm days, tho with all the breeze it tends to get dirty out there

Amazing location

You cannot get a better location for the price. You can see the beach from the balcony and a corner store half a block away. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Great house for small kids or babies.

Great Stay

This property could not be more convenient to everything we needed. It is in a great location. We are a family of 4 plus our dog. Kids are 5 and 7. Beach access was so easy and the main drag/boardwalk are minutes away. The property provided everything we needed.

Location is perfect - walkability score is 10/10. Quite neighborhood with friendly people. Home desperately needs deep cleaning and is in disrepair. It's neither attactive or comfortable. Couch is dirty & stained. Bathroom rugs were filthy. Walls, cabinets & doors are a mess. Bathroom fixtures are coming out of the wall. Water roaches were really bad. Just very disappointed and cannot recommend.

Best Place to Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pirate's Pad over July 4th weekend. The house is so clean. Most appliances/furniture are new. The furniture is comfortable. There is grass for our little dog to enjoy. What a cozy place! The location of the house is also very convenient--1 min walk to the Kupboard grocery store, 2 min walk to the beach, and ~15 min (<1 mile) walk to the restaurants by the boardwalk area. No need to worry about driving places and having to find parking. This is our new favorite place to stay of all the beaches in NC! We will come back next year!

We would love to stay here again

Jane was great with communicating with me before our stay, during and after. Thank you Jane! I was able to text her my suggestions on improving the property. She was available and quick to respond. We stayed here during the recent Tropical Storm Ophelia (?), 9/21/23, and while we were indoors for a couple of days, the place was insulated well, and it was pretty neat to listen to how the weather played out. Keep in mind to those expecting a ‘castle’, that this property has more of the beach cottage vibe. It was what we wanted. There were three adults and our mini dog, a service dog, and it helped having a washer n dryer on-site. The coffee and mini store behind this property, made me a couple great omelettes! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Disappointed!

The location was amazing. Great views, short beach walk. CONS- The floors were swept but not mopped (kids feet were black after walking around) The couch was covered in white dog hair. Luckily I had enough sheets to cover it. All of the couch pillows were stained. I put all of them in the closet while we were there. I’m surprised more complaints weren’t made about the cleanliness. Fridge had smudges all over it, the bathroom smelt of urine and mildew. The shower curtain should be washed, and liner should be changed after a few stays to avoid the smell (you can see mold on the bottom of it) Also the washer does not fill up with enough water to wash a load. The umbrella was broken. I asked the owner to please drop one off the next day. She asked if I could go buy one and she’d reimburse me. I ended up renting each day because it was easier. Also, it isn’t my job to run and get one for her to have for future guest. Unprofessional! I chose this house so I wouldn’t have to bring beach toys or run out and “grab things” I have 2 small kids.. There were only 3 chairs provided for the beach. Only one was a “beach chair” the other 2 were wooden folding chairs. I could go on but you get the point. The house is probably cleaner now than it was before I got there. Been home for 2 days. My youngest daughter and I are both sick with the stomach bug. I assume it’s from the poor cleaning jobs that are done. Zero disinfecting or bleach used here. LAZY cleaner. Don’t recommend.

The house is in an amazing spot. It is a very nice location and the layout is nice as well. The wrap around porch is amazing. The packet that the owners send is slightly confusing. There is also a lot of what appears to be the owners items at the house which when having kids can make you nervous. For sure would stay at the location again though.

This was our second summer at the house. What can I say, “location, location, location”! The perfect breakfast spot on the corner. A two minute walk to the beach. We are definitely coming back for a third year.

Great location

Easy transaction. Simple directions and wealth of information about the locale area. only complaint is that the decking had several nails coming loose ( with toddlers hard on barefeet): restaurants in local area do not do take-out and we had a hard time finding food to go. owner indicated to bring own linens/ towels but there was plentiful at the residence. Great Great location. Very quiet ( soundproofed, didn't really hear the busy street).

Great location

The property was great! The best view for the morning sunrise and afternoon sunset across the sound. The porch was great eating breakfast and enjoying the views. Loved having a small local store in the backyard with anything you may need or forgot. Small walk to the beach and loved that it was with a lifeguard on duty each day.

Perfect Carolina Beach Retreat

Just returned from a great 3 night stay and it was perfect. I grew up going to the Carolina beaches and this place provided a classic beach house vibe! The porch was perfect for watching boats go by and feeling the afternoon breeze! Loved the huge couches. All the necessities were provided for a great day at the beach! Would 10/10 rent again!

Beach getaway

The process of renting was very smooth and easy. Communication great. The property itself needs some upgrade. The front door was all rusted in and out, with big gap between the frames. It wasn't a good introduction to the property. The bolt hard to open or close. Inside, by garbage can the cabinet all dirty. The floors swept but dirty. The bedrooms clean, but a lot of dust under the beds. The part of guthers right by the deck hanging and missing. There should be beach chairs in the shed, but just one and ready to give up. We had to rent the chairs and umbrella for the beach. What the price we paid, it should be the beach view and better standard. Overall the information of the property was misleading. The pro for this rental was close to the beach.

Awesome location, ready to book my trip for next year

The location is great, lots of good places to eat and things to do within a very short drive. Super easy to walk right to the beach and the beach is beautiful and clean. The house is a great size we enjoyed our views from the porches. Couldn’t get the tv to work so we just went and bought a roku and signed in to our Netflix while we were there so we had background noise for our dog while we went down to the beach. Bonus that it’s pet friendly our boy loved his first beach trip! Thank you for letting us stay!

Loved the beach access of this home and that she supplied all the basics. Even had stuff you could use for the beach (tent, beach cart). It was definitely a home away from home . Only thing we had trouble with was non of the TVs in the house would connect to the cable . So we had no tv while there but oh well !

I am so excited to share with you my experience of buying a home away from home. As a high end apartment manager located in Raleigh, NC, I've always had the pleasure of living on-site. With that thought process in mind, I turned my home purchase towards the beach so that my friends and I could have a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Here you'll find our adventures and we hope that you will add your own!

What makes this property unique

I personally love being in a single family home at the beach. This one is something special - it has a cool little shop that sales beer, chips and soda (ice too) in the backyard during the summer, yes the backyard. You even have to pass it on the 30 foot walk to the beach. The second thing I love the most is the view. I love seeing all the action around me. From the boats on the canal to watching the folks pass by coming from the North End drive out there is some amazing people watching. No matter whether it's cold or hot, I love it here. There is a reason it's call Paradise Island and I fully understand it! I also enjoy the local flare. From the great restaurants like Michael's Seafood to Seawitch Cafe and Tiki Bar you just can't beat this laid back island. In the winter, you should check out the Island of Lights. The locals really get into this and it's amazing to see the ocean in the winter with all the lights and Christmas Flare at the Boardwalk!

If you are looking to relax, you've landed in the right place. You'll love relaxing in this like new two bedroom one bath cottage. After visiting Carolina Beach as a child, I fell in love with this beach and I've taken all my likes from the other condos and put them into this space. I went to ECU and have a huge flare for Pirate Stuff. You’ll notice it here.
