Wonderful apartment

We stayed here for almost a week and the apartment is wonderful! It has everything one might need and was very clean. It does require a bit of minor updates but nothing to really worry about. Everything was perfect!

Nice and Roomy

A great flat, very comfortable and a nice neighbourhood as far as a foreigner can tell. It is an old-fashioned flat, which is something I and my fiancé liked very much. It's not in the centre of town, which is nice. The kitchen is well maintained and cooking isn't a hassle. I would definitely take the flat again, even if I were to be on my own.

Florence stay in June 2023

Riccardo and Gianna were wonderful hosts. Very nice apartment. Spacious and well-designed. Really liked that the kitchen and dining room were right next to each other; it was a very comfortable setting and we used the dining room quite often. The apartment has everything you need. Beautiful neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay.

Retired couple from USA

This was our third extended stay at Riccardo’s apartment. It’s in a very nice neighborhood away from the crowds in the city center but only 15 minutes by bus - 11 or 17 - which stop just across the street to the center and train station. So while you’re away from the center you don’t need a rental car if you’re going to stay here. There are shops across the street where you can buy many necessities and two supermarkets - COOP and Esselunga - within a 10 minute walk. If you are a soccer fan the stadium for the Fiorentina is a five minute walk. There are restaurants within an easy walk including our favorite I’Giuggiolo which serves great food at very reasonable prices (you’ll need a reservation as it’s packed with locals). The apartment is quite large, airy and bright. The kitchen is fairly well equipped for preparing meals with a very nice dinning room attached. There is good WI-FI reception for streaming. The apartment’s furnishings are dated but comfortable. This is a great choice for a stay in Florence,

Séjour ideal

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans ce grand et bel appartement. Tres bien situé pour découvrir Florence. Les lignes de bus 11 et 17 ont un passage très fréquent et permettent d acceser très facilement au centre historique.

A long distance from central Florence

I am sorry to say we were so disappointed when we arrived, we immediately booked a new apartment. No air-conditioning and massive heat wave do not mix. This is not an upscale neighborhood either. 45 minute walk to duomo. No taxi would come that far out. If you feel like staying in your great grandparents house, this is your place. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I would not wish this experience on anyone.

Suburban apartment in Florence

A nice, comfortable and spacious apartment in a quiet residential suburb. Very clean and well fitted out. Stayed for 14 days without incident. Reliable and good wi-fi. Location is approx 30 mins by bus from city centre. Bus service stops outside the apartment and is very frequent. Car parking is on the street but we never had any difficulty finding a space for our car within 50 or 60 yards of the apartment. The landlady, Gianna, was very helpful and lives within proximity of the apartment in case assistance is required.

Ampio bel appartamento Firenze

Large and spacious appartement in bus distance to the city

We, a family with two kids (14/17) just had a beautiful week in Fierence. The appartement is large and spacious and looked exactly as described in the ad. We extensively used the well-equipped kitchen for cooking after our daily trips to the Ufficies, Siena, Pisa, the cathedral, ... Our special thanks go to Gianna as a landlord who gave us some meaningful hints for shopping etc. The appartement was extremly clean, however we can only give four stars in total due to the renovation work in the house with some noise going along with it. Temporarily only but unfortunately during our stay.

Spacious apartment in a quiet and safe location.

We stayed in this apartment Dec. 28 to Jan. 2, 2018. We really liked that apartment and would stay again. The apartment is very spacious with 2 good size bedrooms. It has a large living room with several balconies. The kitchen is fully equipped and it has a nice sized dinning room. The bus stop is across the street and buses run every 20 minutes. We stayed over new years and did not have any problems with the buses. The only thing is that the apartment was not as warm as we wanted it to be but wearing sweatshirts solved the problem. In all we enjoyed our stay and would return again to the apartment. Gianna meets us and was very pleasant and helpful.

This is a great place for a long term stay in Florence if you want to be out of the city center.

We stayed at this property from March 11 through April 7, 2017. If you want a long term rental in Florence out of the city center but with easy access to all of the sights this is a great choice. While there are a few quirky things about the apartment, its positives far outweigh any negatives. Overall we really liked the property and would stay here again. We were two older retired couples who relied upon public transportation throughout our stay. The bus stop directly in front of the apartment building is a huge plus and gives you easy and inexpensive to all of Florence. We bought passes at the bus office at the train station so we did have to buy a ticket each time we rode the bus, a definite must. Two buses inbound for the city center - the 17 and 11- stop directly in front of the apartment house. Buses are there approximately every 20 minutes throughout the day. Coming back to the apartment the stop is about a block away at the Cento Stelle stop. Very, very convenient. The apartment's kitchen was equipped with all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed to cook our meals. There are shops - butcher, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, and a mini market - just across the street. For everything else you might need there is a supermarket about a 10 minute walk away. The apartment has a small cart so you don't have to carry all your groceries from the supermarket. Also within a block or two of the apartment is a place to buy pre-prepared meals (Cento Stelle Rotisceria (sp?)), a gelateria, post office, and bar/cafe. The apartment is very spacious. The two bedrooms are good sized with comfortable beds. There is a dining room off the kitchen for meals and a large living room for relaxing, reading in the evenings. During our stay we had a plumbing problem and Gianna, the owner's sister who was our point of contact, was very responsive. It is my understanding from her that the owner intends to upgrade the bathroom to address the problem we encountered (we had problems regulating the temperature of the bath water in one bathroom). Also, on several occasions we overloaded the electric circuit requiring getting into the fuse box and resetting the breaker. No big deal. All in all we really enjoyed our stay in this apartment and would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in staying in Florence but out of the city center. As an aside we speak very little Italian but our lack of language was not a problem here.

Large and spacious apartment

the apartment was well furnished and spacious. The only negative is that when there was a problem (internet not working, no cold water in second bath); the response was that i am supposed to call the internet company and/or call the plumber to get the situation looked into. I understand that i was there during the christmas timeframe, however, all i needed was a courtesy call/note from the owner. This soured the experience for us. However, the apartment overall was comfortable and spacious. The location is far from center of town, and is a short bus ride into city center.

What a beautiful place!

When I first looked at this property, I thought: oh no, must be a scam. It is NOT!! What a bargain! Big rooms, lots of light, everything you need in the kitchen, 3 balconies overlooking the residential neighborhood. And more! I want to go back and stay a month....or two! It is September, warm days and nights, all the windows open, breeze so nice. And to hear the Italian city around us was wonderful: the sound of conversation, the bus stopping at the stop, the people walking their dogs, the birds in the trees. It was wonderful! Thank You, Ricardo and Gianna.

A rental that lives up to its reviews, and we hope to stay again

Host Riccardo and his lovely sister Gianna made our one-month stay most pleasant. The layout is large with a separate dining room, a large living room, a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a well-equipped utility room with a washing machine. And an elevator, although we used the stairs. The neighborhood's bus stop across the street makes it easy to get into the center of Florence. We bought bus passes and used them daily. The neighborhood has it all, and within two blocks: a rosticceria with delicious and fresh , take-out food, some authentic, non-touristy restaurants, a bakery, a pharmacy, a bank (and ATM), a hair salon, and La Sovigaud owned and operated by Beni who provides superb caffe, first-class cold cuts, cheese, fruit, wine, beer and other potables.

Value for money in good neighbourhood

We stayed at this apartment for 8 nights in October 2015. It was pretty much exactly as advertised - no false claims and no nasty surprises on arrival. We arrived later than planned due to airline problems but Gianna waited to meet with us and was very pleasant and helpful. Things that I liked or worked well were: Very quiet at night, no problems sleeping. I am conscious about this aspect of accommodation so it was great. Bus stop across the road - very convenient for getting downtown because it's much too far to walk. Local neighbourhood restaurants we tried had better food at more reasonable prices than eateries in the real tourist areas of the city. Good water pressure and very easy to control the amount and timing of hot water. Things that would make it even better: The shower is quite small and cramped but could be improved a bit with a door instead of the shower-curtain. A small amount washing-up liquid and laundry detergent for people staying only a week would be really great. Overall, staying at this apartment was a positive experience and good value for money.

Great Location and Amenities

This apartment turned out to be an excellent location for our Florence visit. The apartment is large and spacious, the wireless connection is strong and the availability of a washer is a bonus, no dryer. Both bedrooms are large and comfortable. One of the bathrooms is shower only and one has a large jetted tub with a handheld shower attachment. There is a large living room very comfortably furnished. There are balconies all around but the swarms of mosquitoes made enjoying them impossible. This is a secured building in a residential area so felt very safe. The bus across the street was a great alternative to trying to drive anywhere in the central area and took about 25 minutes from the apartment. It has its last stop right at the central train station which is especially convenient if you are taking the train to other cities. There are about 5 or 6 small stores across the street which include a latteria (milk, butter, yogurt , water), a deli, and a place to buy bus tickets. Also just around the corner is a rosticerria where we were able on a couple of nights to get ready cooked items for dinner - chicken, spaghetti, shish kebabs, wide array of veggies, etc. A nice wine shop with inexpensive high quality wine is close by as well. The apartment location is about a 15 minute drive by car to Fiesole, an old Etruscan/Roman town and no need to go through central Florence to get there. The only problem we had which might have just been the time of year was the mosquitoes. The apartment does not have screen on the windows so if you want to leave them open in the cool evenings you are a serious target for bites. Also we were surprised there were no wine glasses in the apartment considering where we were. We ended up buying some. We found a terrific restaurant on Viale Right about 3 or 4 blocks away (easy walk) called I' Giuggiolo. You definitely should make reservations as it was always packed with local customers, a sign of a good place. Of course, the best thing is you can't beat the price of this place.

Very nice apartment!

--- The apartment is nicely equipped and very spacious. There are also three accessible balconies which is very nice. All in all we were satisfied with the apartment. We always liked to come back after our daily trips. The location of the apartment is quiet and not overcrowded due to it being located a bit outside of downtown Firenze. Right on the doorstep there is a bus stop with very good connections towards the city. The apartment's owner was friendly and recieved us well. We got explained everything in detail and the tips about restaurants and shops in the proximity are very useful.

A truly Italian experience (in a good way)

The flat is incredibly spacious, and apart from the wi-fi, which seems less and less of a luxury nowadays if you need to use public transport, and which works perfectly by the way, it is like going back in time to a more gracious age. If you want to experience living in Italy (in our case for only a week, so it is all the more remarkable that it felt like we were living there) then this flat would be a good choice. The position is excellent, close enough to the centre to be a tourist if that is your thing, but far enough away to allow you to live like a local. Just across the road by the bus stop there are a few small shops. There is a market every morning, about three minutes' walk away, just near the stadium, a large supermarket about ten minutes' walk away, and the flat even had a shopping trolley. The first morning we went to the market without the trolley because we hadn't noticed it sitting there in the hall. It was that kind of flat. It felt like home. I should also mention the heating and hot water, which worked miraculously, and certainly added to the feeling of comfort. The light, so many windows, balconies, trees, birds, also added to the Italian experience. Campo di Marte is on the Fiesole side of Florence; the bus is close by and frequent, and the ride up into the hills is lovely. Probably important for people trying to decide whether they want to stay here: the flat was spotlessly clean when we arrived, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night. The neighbours were polite and friendly.

Spacious apartment, quiet and safe location

The apartment was well decorated; of a more traditional Italian decor. For those renters with medium to large parties looking for an excellent bargain removed from the chaos that is the center of florence. There is a bus stop literally right outside the door that will take you to the center of Florence. The apartment itself is right next to the Football stadium and a lovely family friendly park. There are also quite a few good restaurants around, but one has to look online for recommendations and addresses, because this area is primarily residential. Although it is possible to walk, I would recommend a vehicle for anybody who doesn't enjoy trekking, because It takes a while to get downtown. The Carrettis are typical Italian homeowners and renters, which means, by any other countries standards, genuinely kind, absurdly helpful, warm and hospitable to a degree rarely seen outside of this fine country. My highest reccomendations
