About this property

Beautiful 3 bedroom cottage with big fenced in backyard. Great location to town.

Our house (519 Bank St.) is wonderfully located 2 blocks from Washington Commons and 5 blocks from the beach overlooking the Atlantic. We are in a quiet neighborhood. The house is clean and well maintained, perfectly suited for your family vacation.
The Master suite, just renovated in 2019,(queen bed) in back of the house has a full bath (also renovated in 2019) and private entrance. The door leads out to a morning sun deck. The outdoor dining set and BBQ were purchased in 2020. The deck also leads directly to the kitchen(all brand new appliances in 2021) so you can enjoy that morning cup of coffee as the kids sleep. The deck looks out over a large grassy backyard with a huge shade tree, great for an afternoon nap.
The middle room has 3 twin beds total. 2 beds and a trundle bed that is fantastic for siblings or their friends. Cable TV and WIFI in all 3 bedrooms.
The front bedroom is another queen bed that has charm and easy access to main bath and fully equipped kitchen. House has central A/C. There is a private driveway can fit 2 cars.
The main bathroom was completely renovated in 2017 with tile, flooring and new bath. In 2023 we added a brand new washer and dryer. Linens/towels are not provided.
You will love the easy access to town/beach with all it's great restaurants and Victorian houses. Dogs are considered as long as they are well behaved and a certain weight. There is a pet fee of $200 at time of booking. Dogs love hanging out in the fenced in backyard.
The private driveway has room for 2 cars.

Blissful Week!

The cottage was completely charming and comfortable, and the back yard was spectacular! Cap that off with an absolutely perfect location and you have everything you need for a wonderful week. Even though the space is not huge, it easily accomodated 6 adults. We loved it and would stay here again for sure.

Great stay in Cape May

This was a great spot in cape may for my husband and I + our dog. The backyard is shaded by trees during the day which was great during the summer. The property is located close to everything, and is bigger than you’d think from the outside. Everything was in order when we arrived, and we had no issues

We loved our stay. Terrific location. Can walk to everything in town, including the beach. Short car ride to wineries and bay side. Fully fenced in back yard with new deck. Perfect for our pup. The host, Kevin, was great. Very communicative.

A Very Cozy Cottage

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this location. Easily one of our favorite features was the 2 minute walking distance into town. Super convenient! Property Manager was very kind. The rooms were lovely, and the property itself was quite lovely! All in all, we would definitely recommend to any family looking for a place in Cape May!

Perfect location!

We have stayed here twice now, as a family with small child and dog. The location is great, walkable to downtown and the beach. The fenced in yard is perfect for letting our son and dog run around. The house is a good size for us as well.

It is a very comfortable house with a great yard. 2 bathrooms is such a plus with multiple adults staying. The additional entrance from the back bedroom to the deck was helpful since we had a 5 month old who was awake way before most of us!

3rd year!

This was our third year in a row staying at Kevin’s cottage and we still can’t say enough good things about it! Can’t beat the location… it’s on a quiet street, but close enough to all the good stuff! Acme is only a couple of blocks away, so we were happy to walk there. The Square and the beach are both very close, as well as many restaurants and bars! The house is clean and has all of your basic kitchen needs… and more. The backyard is very large for a beach home and kept our two corgis so happy as they were able to play and lay in all of the shade and enjoy their vacation as well! We love this place and hope to come back again next year for our 4th year in row (fingers crossed)!

Great place!!!

Bigger than it looks from the outside. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Fully equipped kitchen has everything we needed. The back deck with barbecue, table and chairs was wonderful. And for our dog, the fully enclosed high fence the back yard made watching him so easy.

Enjoyed Cape May

The cottage is in a great location, close to restaurants, shops and a nice walk to the beach. The shady backyard was nice for the dog as mentioned online. There were beach tags and beach chairs available for us to use throughout the week as well! Upon arrival, we observed that the floors were quite sandy and dirty. Although this is a beach house, and you certainly expect some sand, it seemed as if the floors were not even swept; not what’s expected when you pay a $200 cleaning fee. There were a few other minor issues including a lack of working microwave/oven (we could not get the oven on because the knob labels were worn down). Our family enjoyed our time in Cape May and the proximity to everything it has to offer.

Convenient Cape Cottage

The property was pretty much as depicted: the interior is clean with a fully fenced in yard for the pets! Our dog loved it! A few small improvements would go far in terms of attractiveness for renters such as an updated outdoor grill, wi-fi (especially if you have teenagers), and a working dishwasher! There is no dryer and while we had beautiful weather I wonder what it would have been like to have rainy days with the laundry... The house is in a great location - very close to downtown Cape May and the walk to the beach would be a little too much with all the stuff! Better to be dropped off! We loved Cape May and would definitely come back to this property- especially with a few adjustments!

Another great stay!

My husband, 3.5 year old, and two corgis, and I had another great stay at Kevin’s cottage! (This is our second year in a row staying there.) We absolutely love the location! The cottage is just slightly off the beaten path to provide some quiet and privacy, but close enough to walk to all of the fun - beach, Washington square, restaurants, shops, etc. The backyard is big and private. It’s fully fenced in, which is perfect for our dogs to run around freely to play. Also great for our son to run around. We enjoyed hanging on the deck - relaxing and enjoying drinks and meals. This is also a gas grill with propane. The inside of the home is well-maintained and cared for. Brand new washer and dryer! Kitchen is equipped with the essentials. Three bedrooms, two full baths. All in all, another wonderful family vacation at Kevin’s cottage and we hope to come back!

Family vacation with furry pets!Wonderful cottage- great location!

We experienced a wonderful relaxing week in this cozy cottage. Fabulous location- easy walk to beach, shops, theatre and grocery store. Fenced in yard is perfect for furry friends! Layout provides private spaces- but is cozy and intimate enough to invite real family time! One bedroom has to be passed through in order to enter main space-but that is easily solved due to extra doors that enable the guest to both let the dog out with ease AND cut across to main/kitchen space without necessarily having to cut through 3rd bedroom, if need be. There is also an additional fridge in the main bedroom- which may prove very helpful to many! No dryer, yet hanging out clothes was not difficult. We couldn't figure out the oven(temperature/preheat) but it certainly worked!That was really our only snaffu- and is easily solved for future. We loved it there! We plan to go back, already! Kevin was a wonderful host and cottage was everything we hoped for! We strongly recommend this cottage, especially if you desire not to drive- you can walk to everything!!! :) BIG THUMBS UP!!!

Wonderful time, great location

Myself, my husband, my mother and father in law, and our infant son had a wonderful long weekend staying here. The house was the perfect size for us, and the yard was great for the dog. Kevin was extremely responsive with any house questions, and also provided lots of local tips. This is the perfect home base if you want to be walkable to town and the beach. We will certainly be back!

Wonderful Cape May cottage close to town, walkable, pet friendly

Overall, this is a wonderful property that would be a great for a couple or family - especially if you have a small dog. The property itself is clean and located just a couple of blocks from the main part of town. The beach is a few blocks beyond that, but still walkable. The cottage has sleeping for about 6 people comfortably. The property has a fully fenced back yard that's very roomy - our dog enjoyed it. Two bathrooms. Beyond that overall review - we individually had a minor issue checking in at the cottage, and there was construction of a new home next to the rental while we were there, which as a nuisance. The property owner was very responsive to these matters. We would return and stay here again.

Why they chose this property

This was a Coast Guard cottage that was moved to Bank St. when the base changed over. Additional bedroom was finished in the 90's and upgraded in 2019. We love the great location to Historic Cape May and it's fantastic restaurants.

What makes this property unique

The beaches are the best! We vacation in our house every year. Our kids love the place and the town. And the food....amazing. Walking distance to downtown and the beach.
