Great experience!

I rented the main house and cottage for a big family reunion and it was really ideal - the wraparound porch is amazing as it overlooks the lake, the kitchen is great for cooking, and the home is beautifully decorated and as advertised. Antoinette was also great - I would highly recommend this property!

Autumn weekend by a lake

We were a group of family and friends celebrating our 65th birthdays. Friday evening we grilled salmon on the huge outdoor charcoal grill. The kids rambled on the lawn and hammocks. Everyone loved the ambiance and comfort of the home. The hike to the fire tower on Mt. Stissing was a hit, as was the coconut cream cake at Stissing Lake House restaurant.

Stissing Lake- a retreat for the whole family

Stissing Lake home and property were perfect for our family of 12. The grounds were spacious and provided plenty of space for our family games( badminton, croquet, wiffle ball), as well as a wrap around porch overlooking the lake that gave us time for conversation and quiet reflection. There is a Nature Conservancy park just a short walk from the home and we took advantage of the Harlem Bike trail for a family bike day. The beds were very comfortable for all of us. The home is spacious. The host was easy to communicate with and her son was close by for any questions or concerns. Our family is grateful to have been given this chance for a reunion after such a long pandemic year . Thank you Antoinette and Kendrick.

picturesque summer getaway

Our party (adults and young children) enjoyed our stay at this house and suited a large group well. The house came stocked with cookware, games, and outdoor activities. Each room was unique and charming, and our bed was extremely comfortable. The location was beautiful!

Lake, mountain, bonfire, lots of room for family and friends...what more can you ask for!

Fun on the water! What a great time swimming, kayaking, fishing, etc. We were a group of around 10, including small children and the house easily accommodated everyone. The lovely house is situated right on the lake and could not have been more tranquil. A giant bonfire, BBQ, smores and stargazing at night complemented the daytime activities on the water, the hiking up Mt. Stissing, as well as the excursions to Rhinebeck and environs. Pine Plains is super quaint with some great restaurants and markets and wine shops. Mostly we enjoyed whiling away the days on the porch and the hammock, the cool breeze coming off the lake while the kids played on the lawns and in the water. We cooked up a storm in the commercial-grade kitchen. Do understand that the house is not new and as such lacks certain mod-cons, but to us this only accented the charm. Suggest a deep cleaning throughout before the busy season next summer as there is some accumulation. Otherwise we were smitten and hope to return!

Three-generation Weekend

We enjoyed a long weekend, with two grandparents, four parents, two toddlers and two infants in tow. Upon arriving, we quickly made a sweep of the house, stowing table-top breakables out of the kids' reach. As you can see from online photos, the house is a gracious, old Victorian. It is also very kid and family-friendly, with plenty of space for everyone to unwind. The young parents, from Manhattan and Brooklyn respectively, took advantage of the outdoors, bicycling the back roads, climbing Stissing Mountain, jogging, kayaking and swimming. The toddlers especially enjoyed the swingset and expansive lawn. In the evenings, we ate family-style in the dining room. A very pleasant experience overall.

Family Birthday Retreat

I utilized this beautiful property for my 30th Birthday for family and friends. We had an AMAZING trip and Antoinette was so helpful. Throughout the experience, she was always available to answer any questions and very punctual. The house is right on the water with great water activities and swimming, biking, hiking and anything else you can think of. My group attend a polo match at a nearby country club, which was a perfect trip, only 5 mins away. For my trip, the major hit was the kitchen. If you love to cook, as my family does, you'll fall in love with the kitchen. It's restaurant quality and helps when entertaining large groups. All in all, we'll definitely stay at this house again as its perfect for anything you'd like when needing some rest and relaxation.
