We were lucky with the weather so we were able to enjoy breakfasts outside. Short walk to great French Bakery. The kitchen was fully set up w/plates, glasses so we only had to run the d/w at the end of our stay. The house is charming, clean, and had more space than I expected. Nice living room. And excellent Master Bathroom shower used by all 4 of us. Only issue was faulty guest bathroom sink - but host communicated this to us upon arrival. Host was very responsive Overall, great stay.
This Spanish Mission style home in the historic district of Lake Ida is really lovely and well appointed. The are several cozy couches in different rooms, enabling you to curl up with your favorite read. The kitchen is out of a magazine! Kudos to who ever did the overall design in this gem. Rear yard could have used some attention (dead or dying plants, worn or frayed seat cushions) but altogether comfortable and quiet with a charming cast water feature.Close to all Delray has to offer.
We stayed on this property as we were attending my best friends wedding ! The house is super cute ! Decorated nicely and extremely comfortable! The area was great and super close to everything ! Would def stay here again !
Met all our expectations. Meticulous property with all the comforts of home! Excellent communication and details provided by our Host made our stay effortless.
We hope to return soon.
This is one of the most charming VRBO homes we've ever stayed in. A short walk to a great coffee shop/bakery and to Bedners, a special grocery store. Loved the spacious MBR, great lighting throughout and beautiful kitchen. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond to questions.
We stayed for a long weekend and could not have been happier here. Quality throughout, gorgeous and functional bath and kitchen, comfortable bed and plenty of space. Edward was the perfect host. Highly recommend!!!!
Couldn't ask for a more charming, fully equipped cottage, located close to shops. and restaurants. Edward (the host) clearly loves his cottage, and his attention to detail is evident throughout. He was quick to answer our questions and share tips on places to visit and restaurants to try.
Very helpful owner in a pleasant cottage. The owner responded immediately when I had questions.

The whole family enjoyed the stay at the cottage. It had everything needed to make it a comfortable setting. Even enjoyed the mangos from the tree in the backyard. The house was very well kept and tastefully furnished. Edward was great to deal with and made sure that we had a great stay. If visiting the area again with the family would most definitely rent from him again.
My husband and I escaped the Colorado cold and stayed in this beautiful home for a week in January. The house is lovely, has everything you need. The outdoor space is perfect for a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening! The location is PERFECT, close to all the action that Delray has to offer. Edward went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! Can't wait for next year!
Modern with charm, charm, charm. Multiple sitting spaces, large dining table, well equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms. It’s a lot of value for the price. Private backyard with just the right furniture — a table or lounge chairs. Chairs and umbrella for the beach. Edward is super easy to communicate with. No issues for him to navigate as the casa is updated but I’m sure he would have been right on it had anything come up. Would definitely rent again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edward’s home. It was within walking distance to dine on the Avenue and the little French bakery was a stone’s through away! There is plenty of room in this well appointed cottage. It has lovely details and the host Edward will answer any questions you may have. We are familiar with the area having rented in Delray in the past. Also, Bedner’s specialty market and Publix are very close by. Overall we had a great stay. Thank you!
As a Delray Beach native returning for the first time in 5 years I had high expectations for my beautiful sleepy hometown and this property made my family and I feel like we never left. The property was perfectly located( blocks) from downtown Delray and the best beach in Florida.
The property was exactly as described but what made the trip feel like we never left was our host Edward. His attention to detail and easy going attitude was the cherry on top of our summer vacation
I look forward to staying here again when we get closer to moving back at the end of the year. I just hope it'll be available!!
The cottage is a perfect size with good living space and comfortable sleeping arrangements for 4.
The kitchen is a very good size and has everything you need.
The interior is nicely renovated and the design suits the area perfectly.
The backyard is the perfect place to have your morning coffee, or a nice cold beer or glass of wine in the late afternoon / evening. The lighting in the back is great to have a nice evening out back.
We drove most places. But my daughter and I ran to the beach and then to Starbucks daily. Everything you need to close by.
We would definitely recommend this place, and would return in a heartbeat, but it only sleeps 4 and we do have an older son that may join us next time.
Thank you Casa Del Ida for the most delightful stay. (Side note: Ida was my Oma’s name, so that was a nice surprise / coincidence)
Beautiful preserved rare home to find in Florida. Spacious and clean all new appliances!
Loved loved this property. Beautiful home. Edward was fantastic. Quiet area and near pineapple grove. Small thing is it’s very close to train passing once in awhile but place is so nice you won’t know a difference. Hope I can come back! Thanks Edwards
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely and comfortable home. Everything was very clean and well-appointed. The owner was very responsive. The house is a short walk to all the dining and retail activities on Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove. We will consider staying here again on our next visit to Delray Beach.
Everything is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Very clean inside and out, house was exactly what we were looking for. French Bakery is less than 5 min. walk, The Ray is a 10 min walk, and Atlantic is 15-20 depending on where you're going. Host was outstanding, even provided dining recommendations. Would stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Edward J. Rusher
Eleanor and Edward and their two sons visited Delray Beach 16 years ago and fell in love with area. They acquired this home in 2013 to have an escape from the cold winters of New England. They enjoy all the Amenities that Delray beach Community has to offer and the easy getaway to warmer weather!
Why they chose this property
We love the historic district and our cottage and we didn't want to have to drive anywhere when on vacation. We can walk, bike or scooter to Atlantic Ave to eat and shop. Also, we ride our bikes to the beach and parks with our young boys.
What makes this property unique
Perfectly located close to everything. A 1926 Spanish Mission Style home with loads of charm, coziness, and a manageable size.
