Lakefront, Private Dock, Best Views from the Best Bay on the Lake, Close to Town
Our home on Neachen Bay (formally Squaw Bay) is an ideal place to spend your vacation. It is lakefront with dramatic views of the lake and mountains from the house and two decks. We have a private boat dock that includes waverunner docking and use of paddle boat, kayak and swim ladder. The best thing is our proximity to town and Coeur d’Alene Resort and Golf Course - 10 minutes by boat. Lake Coeur d'Alene is a HUGE lake that extends over 80 miles south of town.
Keep this in mind when you choose a home to rent. Our vacation home is located on Neechen Bay which is on the east side of the lake, across the bay from the new Gosser Ranch Golf and Lake Club, and just minutes from town. This newer, modern home is very tastefully done with lots of amenities including WiFi. Our home has lots of large windows with exceptional views of the lake.
Come out, bring your boat and take advantage of this rare opportunity to relax, reconnect with your family and rediscover all that Idaho and Lake Coeur d'Alene have to offer.

Our family of five enjoyed our stay at this lake house. It's a bit of a drive from town, but ended up being the perfect location. The water on the bay is perfect for families to play in the lake and to use the kayak, canoe, and pedal boat. Plus the views are beautiful. There was plenty of space for our family to spread out and enjoy themselves.
Incredible property right on the lake. Swimming, boating, cooking out. Family game nights with all the kids. Perfect location. Absolute 10/10 host. We WILL be back.
This house is located on a beautiful little bay. We rented a boat and enjoyed motoring out to the larger lake area for tubing and fun, and then swimming off the dock with bald eagles overhead. The house is clean and welcoming and the views can't be beat.
This house was the perfect place for our family. The dock was the ideal shady spot for our boat and the best spot for taking in the sunset. The special bonus was seeing the bald eagle fly by each day. The views from inside and the decks were just as lovely. We would definitely rent again.
Renting this fantastic lake home resulted in a fun, peaceful, and relaxing week. The home was right on the lake with a well maintained dock. The home was well stocked and had upstairs air conditioning. We look forward to coming back!
Beautiful location on a quiet area of the lake close to CdA.
The house location is excellent in terms of proximity to the lake but not a busy area for lake traffic. As with almost every house on the lake renters should be aware there are a series of steps, 3 stories, that must be climbed, to go from the dock and lake level to the living and kitchen level. People with mobility problems might have issues. There is ample sleeping space and the house has all the amenities, appliances, and appointments like cookware, dishes, and water toys needed for an enjoyable stay.
We stayed at the property for 10 days. Unfortunately, upon arrival, the house had not been prepared for guests, which was a significant inconvenience. We had to strip and wash all the soiled bedding and towels ourselves, as well as clean goose feces off the dock. Additionally, maintenance had to come to replace filters for low water pressure and fix a non-flushing toilet downstairs. However, the owner was very responsive and refunded the full cleaning fee.
Despite these issues, the house had everything our family needed, with plenty of space, a well-stocked kitchen, and a beautiful location. The sunsets were magical.
On a different note, there were several wasp nests on the house/ roof, which could become a serious issue if not addressed.
Location Location Location. Great property - well stocked with kitchen essentials, well-built (floors and doors don't creak), and great view. Beach towels, canoe, kayak. Internet did not work upon check-in, and host was quick to respond. We did some troubleshooting (satellite-based internet), and I actually went to the neighbor to look at their Hughes set up. Router was fried - and host got a new one there the next day....problem solved.
What needs to be emphasized - the main living area is 3 floors up from the car. There are lots of stairs...in the house, and to the beach (which is across the 'road'). If you are mobility challenged, this won't work. Kitchen is 1 floor away from the grill and outdoor table.
It's a beautiful and historic location on CDA. If you can make the stairs work, it's a great choice.
The beach house on Neachen Bay is fantastic!
The beds are super comfortable - and our kids loved the bunk beds. There are two family rooms with cozy couches and TVs.
The kitchen is extremely well stocked. We cooked every night and had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen table seats 8 people and is surrounded by windows overlooking the lake.
There is AC throughout the house - although we didn’t really need it because the house cools down beautifully at night.
There is a big grill (owner helped us with an YouTube to light it- reach out to him if you need help) and we cooked out every night. So easy!
The property has 2 porches with comfy outdoor seating to enjoy the view.
The dock has a 3 person canoe, paddle boat and a kayak along with chaises and Adirondack chairs. Also, a slip for a motorboat if you have one. In addition, there are water toys in one of the guest bedrooms and down by the dock. Our 12 year old twins had a blast!
We could not have asked for more - this beach house is amazing.
One note for folks who might struggle with stairs - this house has 3-4 flights of stairs. Parking is under the house and the front door is accessed by 1-2 flights of stairs and then the house itself is 2 stories. Not a big deal at all but we definitely got our steps bringing our bags and groceries up and down!
The payoff is a gorgeous, unobstructed view from every window facing the bay! So worth it.
Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful stay!
It was a very clean property with amazing views! The house met all of our expectations and was a great place for a family vacation. The owner could definitely turn u. p the hot water for a hot shower and the washer is quite the finicky girl.
This lake house was the perfect location for our girls trip. The views are breathtaking, the house is well furnished and very clean and the beds were super comfy. The best part was the dock and the toys with it. We spent our days playing on the water, lounging and swimming. We had an unforgettable experience for sure.
We really enjoyed staying at this rental. My wife and I were joined by our daughter and son and his wife. We were in the area because by granddaughter was getting married. The place was wonderful--beautiful location. Unfortunately we had rain squalls every day that made driving into Cour D'Alene a challenge. Glad we had designated drivers in our group because traveling down the road from the interstate could challenge Formula 1 drivers, especially just before sunset when the abundant deer population paid a visit. This is a place that I would love to return to during summer because we were unable to enjoy the outer deck and fireplace and the kayak and paddleboat at the dock. We will not forget this place.
Our family loved staying at this home, the beautiful lake front location and private dock created a wonderful family vacation. The owners are very kind and have excellent communication. We hope to stay again!
Beautiful Hone right on the Lake across from Resort. Loved staying here
Beautiful home and property right on the lake. Had everything we needed. Private dock for boat and Jet Ski, quiet and pretty bay (Nechem/ Squah Bay) and loved the 2-decks and view is stunning.
One of the best parts of the property is the terrific deck that houses the kayak and paddleboard. The pictures haven't been updated to reflect the large deck. We laid out on the lounge chairs, read, slept, and swam. It was the perfect first post-pandemic trip. The views are stunning and overall the property exceeded our expectations. The only small downsides were the absence of shades/window coverings in the summer (hard to fall asleep when it is light out well after 9-10pm and hard to stay asleep when the sun comes up at 5). Also, the master bedroom mattress is very soft for you firm loving people out there, my back was aching a bit. The kitchen was fully stocked with almost every pot, pan and appliance you would ever need. They have staples like salt and pepper too. It is a bit of a drive from town and phone and internet service was slow and intermittent at times. The property manager was very responsive to any and all questions.
Loved our stay. Perfect fir me and my kids. Would love to come back. I had my peace and quiet. They had they’re own space. Need to come back next month.
The house is perfect for families! The first level has the guest rooms/family room and the second level has master, kitchen and living room.
My only suggestion is window coverings on hot days when the sun is setting would be nice (on the second level). But the views will take your breath away.
We will be back! This place is beautiful!

Hi, my name is Wayne. I live in Boise and bought this property in 2004 for family and friends to come rest, relax and enjoy. The views of Lake Coeur d'Alene are breathtaking. We often get wildlife around the bay, including Bald Eagles, Moose, Geese and Deer. I am sure you will love this bay as much as we do. This area of the lake is protected and calm, yet close to Coeur d'Alene Resort.
Why they chose this property
Our home is directly on the lake, and it’s a 20-minute car ride to Coeur d Alene, bike and hiking trails. It is a 5-10 minutes boat ride to restaurants, nightly entertainment, local coffee shops, grocery store, and fuel for the boat is directly across the bay. You can take relaxing walks in the morning and evening or dangle your feet in the water as the sun sets. You can enjoy your favorite beverage from the top deck and watch the deer as they nibble from the trees. The National forest is minutes away and boat rentals close by.
What makes this property unique
Our home is designed for FAMILY FUN, it has a kayak, paddle boat, room to dock your boat and/or waverunner. You can swim off the dock. The water is calm and clear.
