Fantastic Home and Property

My kids loved the home and playing on the large property. Often, cabins feel dirty from being in the woods, but this home was very clean and didn't feel like you were in the woods other than the incredible views.

Family getaway

This property was exactly what we were looking for. Very spacious, clean, peaceful and convenient to all the places we wanted to go. If I was a painter, I would have painted the view from the back of the house. We will definitely return at sometime!

Great secluded time

This place was great. It has a large amount of land so it was very private. It was nice to be able to let the dogs out without having to make sure they weren’t going to bother anyone. It has a lake that you can walk down to and there is a little tee pee there. The deck was nice to sit on and enjoy the views. It was clean and had a good set of dishes and pots and pans. It was a great place for our family getaway.

Wonderful Lakeside Getaway

Absolutely the best of everything. Beautiful views, an assortment of wildlife, fun floating on the lake, fishing and relaxing on the deck. The amenities, especially the air conditioning on warmer days took comfort to the top. The master suite was perfect and other family members were happy with their rooms. We would not hesitate to return. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us.

Lovely views in a comfortable, beautsetting

We spent a week at this property and enjoyed the fresh air, comfortable home and location. It is near Cortez and Mancos for access to kitchen supplies and any other needs you may have. The sitting areas are spacious and allow for gathering and separation as desired. Highly recommeded for families/friends coming together to enjoy the area.

Secluded and stunning views

My family spent a few days here while visiting Mesa Verde National Park. Location was close to the park. The house is rustic and comfortable with plenty of room for all of us. The tree swing was a big hit with the kiddos. We would come back!

A magical place

This was our 3rd year coming to this magical cabin. The water was very high this year creating more of a beautiful landscape. The property is in a great location between Mancos, Dolores and Cortez. Wonderful hiking all around. The owners are wonderful and very quick to respond if there are any issues. We feel very blessed to be able to share in this cabin.

Peaceful and Beautiful

We enjoyed our one week stay at this VRBO property. With 10 people (ages 5, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 40s x2, and 70s x2), it was at times a bit tight. However, it did work out well and the family spent some good quality time together. The weather was lovely and the property was very well kept up.

Eclipse!

Got the family together to view the 'Ring of Fire' eclipse. We had plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their time over the weekend! The fall leaves, evening stars, and blue sky weather all cooperated. Couldn't have been better

Fantastic cabin, fantastic views!!

The cabin was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked. The owner was very easy to communicate with. We had zeros issues while we were there. Our group was made up of 3 guys and we used the cabin as a base camp for an elk hunt in the San Juan national forest. It was wonderful to come in to a hot shower and soft bed after hiking 15 miles all over the mountains. I would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful get away!

This home and location were perfect for our Thanksgiving get away to the 4 corners area. The layout of the home accommodated 2 families of 4 quite nicely with one family in the two upstairs bedrooms and the other family in the two downstairs bedrooms. The home was cozy and well appointed and we didn't miss the TV at all. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed walking out to the lake, swinging on the swings, and taking in the view. It was so quiet and peaceful there. The location was perfect for exploring the area from the nearby Anasazi Heritage center in Dolores, to Mesa Verde, to Durango. We would definitely return to this home.

Perfect setting

8 people, 3 generations. We were all under one roof and had a great time. The house is large enough to have time together, yet space apart. The kitchen functioned well, and had all of the necessary equipment. (My favorite was a large crock pot so I could start a big meal before we explored Mesa Verde, and it would be ready when we got home.) The views in the house were great: lake in one direction and mountains in another. While the weather was somewhat rainy while we were there, we enjoyed several nights around the campfire. We had a temporary glitch with the wifi, but the owners were engaged and helpful with that. All in all, it was a special place for our family, and I'm sure it would be great for others as well.

Beautiful home! So clean. Responsive owners.

We all loved this trip. We (husband and I) traveled with my four kids, my parents and my niece and nephew. kids Aged 6-16. No offense to the photographer of the images but the pictures donNOT do this place justice lol. It’s so beautiful! The master suite is gorgeous. Tons of natural light. Great dining area. Beautiful scenery. Fun for the kids to just explore in property. We built a fire and did s’mores one night under the gorgeous night sky. I may have missed them but didn’t see roasting sticks. So I had my husband bring some (he came later). The kitchen had a nice array of some fruits upon our arrival which was a nice touch. Cozy place to watch a movie in the fam room. Very clean. Great mud room room to take care of all the gear we brought. I loved the kitchen. Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic

My immediate family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids (13, 12, 10, and 7)) wanted to get away for Thanksgiving week. We were looking for seclusion with no worry about neighbors. Somewhere near a lake with lots of land to be able to go hiking and fishing right out of our back door. The Summit Lake Cabin definitely delivered everything we were looking for. The house is very spacious and new. Seclusion with all of the comforts of home and modernization (WiFi, flat screen tv, cable, stone lined showers/bathrooms, and a beautiful kitchen. We woke every morning to deer (bucks and fawns) in the yard, we hiked around the lake, we went fishing, drove to Purgatory resort (about an hour away) to go sledding, played cards on the card table, and had a wonderful time together as a family. We also saw a fox (twice), what appeared to be a weasel/otter in the lake, and two bald eagles (one female and one male). We brought our binoculars and the definitely came in handy. All from the back porch. The hosts left instructions and the cabin was easy to find. We would definitely come back to this cabin and recommend it to family and friends.

On a lovely lake. Remote but only 20-30 min to three towns.

This house is on Summit Lake which requires a CO Wildlife Area pass. That reduces traffic and only non motorized boats are allowed. We only saw a few people out on the lake during our eight day stay. So it was quiet, filled with birds, reflecting amazing sunsets. Wish I had that view all the time! That said, in June, the mosquitos and gnats/midges were relentless. We would have liked to spend more time outside but even bug spray didn’t keep us safe. The owners were very responsive. I let them know of a couple things they might want to address and they had a plumber out that same day. The kitchen is large which was great for our family. And there’s a large rustic dining table. The nicest seating area is upstairs, along with the master and another bedroom. There didn’t seem to be AC. It was in the mid 80’s during the day and the upstairs got a little warm. But at night we opened windows and turned on the central fan which cooled it down to the upper 60’s by morning. The house itself was clean but I gave them a so-so rating because there were many moths flying around, dead flies in the windows, and bird guano all over the deck. You’re in the country, so some of this is understandable. But they might want to ask the cleaning service to hose off the deck railings and outdoor seating, and also vacuum the window sills. Personally, we’d rather have a few bugs than chemical pesticides. Just FYI.
