This is a fantastic property made even better by the accommodating host. Bill was very friendly and easy to deal with. The property is secluded and has beautiful views. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the area!
My husband and I had a terrific stay at the cabin, which is in the most ideal location to town. It is secluded to give you the “getaway” feel while being 5 minutes away from town for anything we needed. The property manager sent us the most helpful details to easily find the cabin, was always accessible to contact if we needed anything, and provided a bunch of pamphlets to find fun places to eat and visit. Would 100% stay again. Thank you!
This charming cabin home was thoughtfully stocked with so many conveniences, from toiletries to hot cocoa pods for the Keurig. We were there Thanksgiving week and appreciated that the place was decorated for Christmas. It was an easy, short drive down the mountain to get to a Walmart for our groceries and the town of Clayton for shopping and restaurants. Bill was easy to reach via message and always responded promptly. We also appreciated that the check/out instructions were so easy-we basically just had to pack and walk out the door. I would highly recommend Willie Bear Cabin to anyone wanting a spacious home-base for everything the area has to offer.
Celebrating brother’s birthday with family and friends. The location was perfect and the house was fully stocked with everything anyone would need. The view was unbelievable beautiful showing off all the magnificent fall colors from the deck; with a cross that lights up the night. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Very comfortable and gorgeous view!
The cabin was great- had everything you could need and very comfy. Close to a lot of attractions. The driveway is a little tricky but the gorgeous view is worth it. My only issue was that there was confusion about getting into the cabin and I tried calling the owner several times but got no response. He apologized but that was very frustrating.
unbelievable view... best most caring host we have ever experienced. no need to bring anything with you but your
meds and your clothes and your wallet. he has it all there
for any of your needs driveway takes awhile to get hang of
We stayed here with 4 children and 3 adults ( family). The cabin is spacious, clean, well-stocked with essentials, and the views are awesome. We would definitely recommend!
The cabin is cozy and inviting. The mountain views are magnificent . Close to town, whitewater rafting and Tallulah Falls. We had a wonderful time. We can’t wait for our next trip back. The kids loved the views and catching fireflies. Wonderful Memories made. Thank you Bill and Karen for opening your cabin “Willie Bear” for others to share. As we ride home the kids are still talking about all the bears, views and walking around adventuring. They give you all thumbs up.
The rental was very charming. Mountain themed nick-knacks are everywhere. We saw something different each day.
View was excellent too. We did a lot of hiking and spent a lot of time on the balcony recovering from the hiking while enjoying the view.
We won't hesitate to return for our next mountain escape.
PS, If you use Google Maps, it may send you the wrong way on Screamer drive. Turn left on Screamer and the driveway is 50 yards away. Googe Maps says go right.
We were in the area to do music for a wedding. This cabin is very nice. I personally think it is a little over decorated and cluttered. A few things didn't work properly. But that didn't effect our stay. Still a nice place, spacious, just needs a little TLC. It is for sale so this may be the reason things appeared to need some attention. Drive way is a little difficult to navigate.
Exactly as you see online. Bill was good with communication up to and during the stay. The driveway took some getting used to as I have full size pickup. But as stated it is freshly paved and solid.
Great location to head out to see things in the surrounding areas.
The view from cabin was amazing the cabin was decorated for us for Christmas it was fully stocked with everything we needed it wasn’t long enough but we made great memories a lot of things to do around us so many beautiful waterfalls and Bill was a extremely amazing host
The view and location of the cabin is awesome! Plus the driveway was thrilling and fun everyone loved the excitement of it!!!! Definitely would stay there again!!! Mr Bill was a great!
Best rental property I've every stay in! Owners very attentive, property had everything in the kitchen to prepare meals, loads of firewood for the fireplace. All mattresses on beds where comfortable. Steep grade to cabin so low gear is a must! Lots of birds, squirrels and chipmunks! Will definely be back!
We loved our stay was very nice and very well supplied with everything. We usually bring what we need but if we forgot something they had it. The house was clean for mosr part, think cleaning company needs to improve for Bill
And maybe update the pans? Wore out and rusty so did make cooking a little tuff.
Would highly recommend staying here,
Thanks Bill

Visit to Willie Bear Cabin
Property was not ready on arrival. Had just started cleaning at 4 pm. Accommodations were good with every possible thing we could need provided. View was spectacular but getting to cabin a little difficult. Overall a good ecperience
We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the weather and location. The shopping and restaurants in the area are excellent. The cabin was great. The driveway was a little scary, but we finally got the hang of it. Had a wonderful time and would love to go back.
The cabin was as listed. It is a roomy 3 level interior. Very convenient to popular tourist destinations. The views of Clayton and the mountains were very nice. The downside was the steep driveway with limited turnaround to go back down the driveway.

Why they chose this property
This property has it all. It is comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view.Large enough for a family with plenty of activities in the area or just sitting on the porch isn't bad.Firewood is always down below the porch for you to use.PLEASE NO MOTORCYCLES OR 4 WHEELERS.
What makes this property unique
We purchased Williebear Cabin July 2008.It was built in 1999 but never used.We looked at many properties in the area and many had a 'winter view'.Not this one.The view is panoramic and the highlights are Black Rock Mountain,Pinnacle and Saddle Gap North Carolina. This home has the cozy appeal but also has plenty of room for 8-10 people. It is on 2 1/2 levels and is mainly wood floors and walls. The fireplace is stone and puts out a lot of heat.It is updated often and well maintained. All systems are checked regularly for best performance
