Holiday
Barnard, was very communicative. The place was great fit for me and my family for Christmas. slept everyone comfortably. The only negative I have is there was dust and the bathtub was dirty. Like how a house gets dirty when no been around for awhile. Other than that I would definitely suggest for a lake side vacation.

Easy, friendly check in. Communication was great.
Property was as described. Beautiful area not far from Bristol. We attended NASCAR night races and it was very convenient from race track. Visited downtown Bristol each day to explore food and activities. Close to Bristol caverns which kids enjoyed. Would love to come back to area and explore more.

Wonderful experience
The lake house was perfect for our family needs. There was plenty of room for all who stayed. For those who complained about spiders, just remember you are in the woods and that’s what nature is going to give you. Can’t wait until next year. Thank you Bernard for welcoming our family into your home.

great place and owner
Great stay. Probably my favorite rental. Bernard was awesome and available, the location was perfect and the house was everything we needed. Easy access to the water, marina down the street. There are steps lol There are spiders, webs, and insects outside. You are in the woods! but the house was clean and homey.

Beautiful view
The lake house has a beautiful view. Plenty of room for the family, lots of steps kept us exercising! It could use a deep cleaning though, especially the bathrooms, and there was mice mess on one of the beds. The kitchen was clean and had sufficient pans etc, but not 1 sharp knife. Lots of deck area for sitting outside.

Great view! Great access.
We had a fantastic time. The views were incredible and the access to the marina which was just a short walk up the road and the dock which was just down a few stairs made for a perfect week.

Good spot for a few days.
Property was nice, easy to find and close to some hikes; there is no yard though and you must drive everywhere except to the one lake it's on, no hiking possibility to walk to. The owner was responsive and a nice place to get away for a few days.

Our second time renting this property
This was our second time renting this house. We love the lake views, the private boat dock, and proximity to Laurel Marina—it’s all about spending time on South Holston Lake for us. There’s a LOT of stairs which may be difficult if you have older family members, but overall it’s a really great rental home for people who enjoy nature and the beauty of Tennessee!!

Perfect Location
Great place with large space for family! We had nine in our group and we were not on top of each other. Two bathrooms with standing showers and one bathroom with tub only. Best perk…… only 20 minutes from the speedway, seriously a great location! I loved the ease of going to Downtown Bristol as well. If you need a quiet location, this is it!

Nice property. Is on 3 levels which wasn’t a problem. A few lights were out in different areas of the house. The motion light in front didn’t work. We enjoyed the area and the house, it was everything that the post said. We would stay again, very relaxing. Would recommend it.

Great Holiday Week
We had our family with us to ring in the New Year. There were a few quirks to the home, but everything worked well and it was an accommodating home for all of us and our dogs. I appreciated the prompt communication with Bernard. Since we visited in December, we did not use the lake, but there was plenty to do at the house and in Bristol.

Nice home on the lake.
We had a great time in this house! It was a bonus that there was many supplies available. Everything in the house worked as it should. The home was well lived in but in working order. There is a plethora of stairs But this is the price you pay for such a wonderful view and staying on the side of a mountain.

Disappointed
We seen the reviews and thought they may have been exaggerated. I can handle rustic, however, the house was dirty, cobwebs everywhere, dangerous steps... We were embarrassed to have our family there. On a positive note it was the most beautiful view I have ever seen.

Wonderful house on a lake
We very much enjoyed our stay here. We came for an extended weekend for some liking and to bike the Virginia creeper trail. Although the weather didn’t allow us to do our hiking, we still found things to do to make the most of our weekend. The creeper trail is awesome. We also enjoyed Bristol Caverns as we were able to do that on our rainy day. The house allowed the kids to find a quiet place to enjoy some downtime. Super cute home. The steps are no joke but no complaint here as it allowed for some exercise since we were not able to go hiking!! Would definitely stay here again.

Lake house getaway
Everything was efficient and straightforward. The kids had a great time in the upper room. Appreciated the ability to bring our dog. We were surprised that the lake was across the street. From the pictures, it looked like it was in the backyard. The house was very clean. The dock is getting a little worn down though as are the stairs to the dock. It was a pretty treacherous climb for my mother. Overall good stay and we recommend it.

Didn't know I was cleaning the house
I got charged for not vacuuming even though the paperwork at the house on check out procedure calls for sweeping (which we did) for the amount of money we spent I think it's crazy.

Just what we wanted
We had a lovely stay at this unique lake house. The owner was very responsive to all our questions. They are not kidding about the steps, so be ready! There was plenty of room for our family of four, the dog and grandparents. It is an older house but we didn’t have any issue, a few things needed repair but the owner was advised and it was not an issue. The location is great, we were a little worried about how close the house is to 421 and on the road to the biggest marina on the lake but it was not an issue at all. The marina staff are wonderful, the lake is beautiful and the house was just what we needed for our family vacation, would definitely recommend

Awesome lake and fishing!
Fun house and a stone’s throw from the lake. We brought our boat and were able to see it from the house at the dock below. The steps were not bad and good exercise. It was fun counting them. We had plenty of hot water for showering, just waited awhile in between. The air conditioning couldn’t work any better and kept the house very cool. We didn’t think talking garbage to the dumpster was a problem, just called the number and they automatically opened the gate. We cooked just about all our meals there and used the gas grill almost every night. We enjoyed our stay and so did our young adult grandchildren. House is stocked full of games for rainy days. Shopping Is close by. Friendly neighborhood. In fact every one we met while staying there was very friendly! The lake is beautiful and we spent a lot of time boating and exploring the fingers in the lake. The owner knows a fishing guide who took us fishing for Striper. Caught fish all morning and got a 41 inch Striper! Yes we would stay again.
