"Captain's Quarters" is a newly renovated (2017)three bedroom, two bath Conch style heated pool home that sleeps eight, and it is located at mile marker 52 with direct ocean access. This charming home with beautiful tongue and groove wood ceilings is located just four lots from the Atlantic Ocean so you can fish and dive the Atlantic in just minutes, and it is also convenient to the Vaca Cut so you can be in the Gulf in just minutes as well. Because this home is so close to the ocean, you will also enjoy some nice open water views and gentle ocean breezes. We also just installed a beautiful new heated pool that will keep you cool in the summer and will also be heated in the winter so it can be enjoyed year round. This home is located in a quiet neighborhood, has plenty of parking, and it is convenient to restaurants, shopping, bait and tackle shops, dive shops, Marathon airport, Sombrero Beach, and it is walking distance to Oceanfront Park which has a 1/2 mile jogging, and fitness trail, dog park, fishing docks, and nice tiki huts right on the ocean. With over sixty feet of canal frontage there is plenty of dockage for a large boat, and the step down dock is a nice feature so the whole family can easily access your boat. Amenities include updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, updated bathrooms with oversized master shower, step down dock, fish cleaning station, bait freezer, washer dryer, tv in living room and each bedroom, and wifi. This home is tastefully decorated, and it includes all the linens, towels, and kitchen utensils to make your stay comfortable. Perfect spot!

Just as advertised - greatly little spot on the water! Kitchen was stocked well enough to prepare meals and serve entire family! We liked the additional bait freezer that was located on the property. Overall, a wonderful spot that we would recommend!

Great stay!

Everything was as listed. Pool is actually larger than it looks in the photos . Amazing location. Only 4 houses down from open Atlantic. Highly recommend.

Great Time In the Keys

The location was great. Nice to have a park across the street to walk the dog. Easy to get out into the Atlantic by boat. Plenty of linens. Steps into living room are a bit tricky for elderly. We enjoyed our stay.

A Perfect Stay

This house was even nicer that the pictures that showed it. Every room, including the kitchen, was spacious and comfortable. We cooked all our meals, including four types of pierogi for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner, and I found everything I needed, and was totally comfortable working in the kitchen. The grill was clean and easy to operate, too. Our mattress was firm and comfortable, and our family said the same about theirs. I felt like quality materials were chosen for the house and that really added to our comfort. We loved the pool and patio and took several meals to the covered picnic table. Ed, the property manager, stopped by to show us how to regulate the pool temperature and he was quick to answer any questions and help when needed. I’m not sure if we’ll get back to the Keys, but if we do, this is where we will stay. It was ideal.

Captains Quarters was clean and quaint. Easy access to Gulf and or Atlantic. Marina close by.

Pool was a refreshing treat after a long hot day on the boat! Park was very close and great to take our dog. Hopefully we will be back next year...

Fun with Friends!

The house was very clean and offered more amenities than expected. Though we love staying oceanfront, this was a great alternative. The neighbors were friendly and we enjoyed the area. We would stay here again.

Wonderful stay

Lovely place in a nice location had everything we needed for a great vacation for 3 adults. Beds were very comfortable. We cooked most nights using a well equipped kitchen. We saw manatees in the canal and caught enough snapper for a dinner. The small airport is nearby, but there wasn't enough air traffic to bother us. Nights were quiet. We will certainly return!

We loved our stay at this property. It is quiet and has access straight out to the Atlantic. There were plenty of kitchen utensils and bath essentials. The pool was nice to relax in after a long day in the sun. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay

We LOVED our stay here. We had a family of 5-2 adults, 3 kids (10, 7 and 1.5 year old) My daughters had so much fun in the pool and fishing right off the back of the house. The house was fully stocked with plates, pots, pans etc. We would most definitely consider staying here again. :)))

Perfect Oasis!

This home was exactly what we needed. Centrally located in quiet neighborhood. Very clean, well stocked and felt like home. Fished every day in the canal, so relaxing. Caught Mango snappers, Key west grunts by the dozen. Manatee visits were one of our favorite parts of the day. Pool was so clean and refreshing, thankful for the shade from the Tiki hut. Nancy was so nice and kind. Would definitely stay at this place again and would highly recommend it!!

Great Place!

This location was central and fantastic. The house was clean and came with many amenities not offered by others, including a heated pool! There is a park and dog park right next to the property, though you will have to walk to the end of the road to get to get around the perimeter fence line to access it. The property is next to a small airport, but we rarely, if ever, heard any noise from it. All in all, a great place to stay! I never had to contact the property owner/manager during my stay. Everything was as it should be.

2 week stay

The house was well kept and had everything we needed. Boat/trailer parking for a 30’ was a bit tough but we made it work. Contacting the owner or manager was very easy and their replies were quick. Pool area was clean and dockage was large enough for my 30’ and 21’ boat. If I had to list any negatives, the bed frames in the guest rooms were loud and cheap. The beds slept great but could travel on you. The house was overall a nice place to stay. I have been going to the keys every year and think this size house with its amenities was a bit overpriced.

Home away.

This was a nice, centrally located home for our stay in the Keys. Spacious for our family. The only things I would change would be more cooking pots and silverware in the kitchen. There was a dishwasher there which was awesome to help keep the dishes clean. On the last night there were red ants in my daughters bedroom. I am confident if I reported this to Bill he would have taken care of it, but we were leaving that day so I assume they spray for ants in between stays. We are in Florida and ants are common. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It is where we will stay every time we come to the keys!

Convenient

This place was great we all have a nice experience it is the first time in 5 years going to the keys that we found a nice neighbors. They told us where to go and super nice couple . The house over hall was great nice heated pool and the location was amazing we where able to go out in our boat every day since the exit is a facing the Atlantic Ocean. There is plenty space for trailer (just don’t make the same mistake I made) there is a dolly inside the little house that makes parking the boat trailer much easier I found out after I parked my. The rooms are spacious and the beds very confortable . Only thing that we found a little uncomfortable was the bugs inside the house there was little ants everywhere but nothing major . I would definitely stay here again.

Boat Owners Use Caution

The house and outdoor area was very nice and clean. There is not much living area but bedrooms and baths were really large. The shower in the largest bath could use a different faucet and was difficult to use. As in previous posts, the canal is narrow and difficult to turn your boat around. The channel coming into the canal is shallow in spots. All these are fine if you are a well experienced captain with a small boat or a boat with thrusters. These facts should be mentioned in the listing. There also needs to be a garden hose on both sides of the house. Also mentioned in previous posts, the street is narrow as well and requires precision backing of the trailer. Overall, if you have a small boat (20 ft or less) or aren’t bringing your boat, this is a very nice house.

Good stay

A few things I wish I had known prior. Location was good for easy access by boat however the road by vehicle is very small. There is no turn around for boat so you have to back down or unhitch and rehitch. Bigger problem was we had 2 other rentals with boats so we were all stuck waiting on each other. The pool is super small big enough for 4 adults to stand around that’s it. The inside is dated and needs some updates. We did let the manager know a few things that didn’t work and hopefully it’s fixed for next renters. Overall a good location just wasn’t prepared for a few things.
