This cozy fantastic, beach-level property on the south shore enjoys maximum morning sun and wonderful light throughout the day. The main house has 2 bedrooms on main floor (1 king and 1 Queen) and a loft with a queen bed and sitting area. 1 full bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a deck with a propane grill and seating. The house is cozy if you are booking 8 people. We do it all the time but keep this in mind. The dock (4 ft. ish) is shallow and has a small beach.
****For guests booking over 6 people there is a separate small guest suite with 1 (queen) bedroom and 1/2 bath included. ****
This well appointed lake house has a deck for BBQing, private dock, and great spot for swimming. Close to Olympic National Park for hiking and exploring.
Closest large grocery store is in Port Angeles or there is a lovely fresh market west of Sequim called "Sunny Farms" that we do our shopping at. There are larger grocery stores in Port Angeles and a Costco in Sequim.
You are in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula and depending on your cell phone service carrier, your signal may not be the strongest. WiFi is provided in the house but with limited data there is no streaming movies please.
We do have neighbors on each side so if you need more privacy this is not your spot. Although we are family friendly we do not have child saftey proofed items.

Great place on a lake. Loved the access to kayaks, SUP, and hikes. It was our friends’ first visit to the Olympic Peninsula and this was a perfect introduction to its beauty.
We stayed at this property for couple of nights during Spring break. It was amazing waking up to the beautiful lake views, just can't beat the view. The property is exactly as described, extremely clean and very well stocked. The weather was little cold to stay outside for long but we will be coming back in summer to enjoy more! Kelly was super prompt and helpful. Can't recommend this property enough!
Unyieldingly beautiful views from the dock, the deck, and the living room. Peaceful. Daily visits from bald eagles, American Coots, Common Mergansers, Mallards, and many more.
Kelly made the experience easy, restful, and enjoyable!
This is an excellent property with great owners. They tend to improve something on the property every year making it nicer each time.
Morning coffee on the dock is my favorite!
My daughter & I took the grandkids overnight to swim & play. We had a great time, the cabin was clean & comfortable. The host was amazing and even dropped off kids swimsuits that we forgot.
We rented this property as a base for Olympic Park excursions - we saw Hurricane Ridge, Sol Duc falls and Second Beach at La Push. Marymere Falls is very close and was on the list of sights but no one wanted to leave the lake house! Our group was a family of five with three boys, ages 13, 10, and 6 plus my brother and his wife. We were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked so we could cook our own meals. The house was clean and check in and communication with the host went smoothly. We loved the ping pong table, all the paddle boards, kayak, yard games, etc. The dock is a great place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. I highly recommend the lake house and would definitely return to explore more of the northern Olympic Peninsula!
Our first time visiting Lake Sutherland and this house. Very comfortable with all amenities one could think of for a fun, relaxing vacation. Location on the lake is fantastic. Gets first rays of morning sunlight and nice place to play in the water, launch boat from.
We so loved our time here when visiting in July, we had to come back for one more stay to end our summer break. Such a beautiful home in the most beautiful location, we hope to visit again next year!
We checked in right on time. A beautiful private deck is welcoming us. Kitchen equipped with all sorts of pots, pans, dinnerwares, enough beach towels for 7 of us. We even watched a movie on VHS tape from video cabinet which it was new experience for our teens.
Enjoyed the paddle boat, kayak, SUP on the lake.
The home is very cozy and loaded with games and outdoor water toys. We had a blast! It was very easy to communicate with the owner to ask questions and coordinate the trip.
We enjoyed our week of relaxation at this gem of a property. The inside of the house is well equipped from the bedrooms to the kitchen. The outside was wonderful too! We enjoyed many meals at the outdoor table on the deck, hanging in the Adirondack chairs on the dock, playing with lots of the outdoor toys (water and lawn), and launching our boat from the large dock. The water is very clear and clean and we found the boat traffic to be minimal during the week. The views from the house and deck are fabulous too!
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage on Lake Sutherland. The kids loved using the paddle boat and were out on the lake everyday having the best time. It was so relaxing to sit at the end of the dock to take in the beauty of the lake and the mountains. The house was clean and had everything we needed, it is definitely a place we would love to visit again!

Lake Sutherland Cottage
Very beautiful and clean. Great location for activities around Lake Crescent and wonderful for kids as well.
We know the view would be great and the lake would be beautiful before we arrived. But were very impressed with how well the house was prepared with everything you would need at a lake house. There were little boats, kayaks, paddles boards, games, places to chill and relax, satellite TV. The fridge, stove, and grill we're all very clean and ready to use. Beds were comfy with lots of pillow selections. Bathrooms were sparkling clean as well. Thank you Kelly for being a great host!

Perfect!
This beautiful lake house was perfect. Our large group of eight people were very comfortable and the house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The owner was very hospitable and responsive. There are so many amazing things to do in the area, but we would have been happy to spend all of our time at the house, just relaxing by the lake or getting out on one of their many watercraft options (paddleboards, kayak, canoe, row boat, paddle boat, etc.). Thank you Kelly!

Great house in beautiful location
The house was ideally located to serve as a base for exploring Olympic National Park and other sights of the Olympic Peninsula. It was a great place to return to at the end of the day and relax at the lake. We enjoyed the paddleboards, kayak, and paddleboats. The house was very clean and well-furnished. We loved having our breakfast on the dock in the morning.

Everything we needed for a weekend at the lake!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gouge's Lake House. The house was cozy and comfortable for our group of 7 adults. The natural light the big windows and skylights let in was so cheery. We loved the views of the lake from the living room, kitchen and upstairs loft. The Gouge's have created seating areas on the deck and the private dock to take advantage of the beautiful lake views. It was so nice to just sit at the end of the dock with a cup of coffee or hot tea and take in the scenery. We had some fun ping-pong matches in the garage. If we wanted to go out on the water, we had our choice of canoe, kayak, row boat, stand up paddle boards or paddle boat! There were board games in a "Harry Potter" closet under the stairs too. There was even a high chair in the garage if needed. The kitchen was also well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses etc. We had other members of the family staying at Mallard Cove just down the road. Our family had a great time paddling and boating the short distance across the lake to each others lodging. A super great time. Thank you Gouge Family for sharing your wonderful lake house with ours!

Peaceful, beautiful stay on the lake
We came in very late at night and woke up to amazing views, the sound of birds, and light rain. We were all so stressed when we arrived & many of our cares just fell away. The house was welcoming, homey, and comfortable. We played games, read, napped, and watched the rain fall.
My media-addicted children spent a lot of time on the water just drifting on the paddle boards (and it was cold). We also went hiking along Hurricane Ridge which was the highlight of the trip for me. So many beautiful places in the park to go to.
Pros
On the lake!
Water toys - canoe, paddle boards, etc.
Views!
Near to Hurricane Ridge and many other areas
Cons
Closest big grocery store is in Port Angeles (18 minutes away). (daughter is a celiac so we are quite particular and the roadside quickmarts don't work for us)
Only one bathroom
So plan ahead - bring in everything you are going to need for several days and hole up. You won't want to leave.

Great accommodations.
The lake house was a perfect place for my family. The senior citizen of our group enjoyed the water view from the patio or the pier. He could watch the young adult grandchildren canoeing and paddle boarding. The adults enjoyed the water activities and the beautiful surroundings.
The house was conveniently located to spectacular Olympic National Park allowing for terrific day hikes!
House is comfortable, simple and clean.
We would definitely stay here again.

Why they chose this property
We love that our cabin is right on the lake with no steep steps. It is sunny and bright with relaxing views. We have hosted family from far away in this cozy space and feel we still have privacy.
What makes this property unique
Relax with your coffee, swim, hike, explore...... If you look over the right of dock, there is an eagles nest that is fun to watch. There is a public boat launch nearby on this side of the lake . You are welcome to bring your own boat and tie up at our private dock.
