This cozy and comfortable lodging is the perfect choice for your Adirondack vacation or romantic get away. On Franklin Pond is situated at the north end of Franklin Falls Pond, a 2.7 mile long lake, one of the most peaceful in the Adirondacks. Nestled in a wooded area among towering pines and surrounded by New York State Forever Wild Forest, On Franklin Pond is a newly constructed vacation rental with beautiful lake and mountain views. Attached to the owner's home, this lodging has a separate entrance assuring your utmost privacy. The owners are available however to assist with any needs. Situated 120 feet from Franklin Pond with a lightly traveled road between your lodging and the shoreline, you will find convenient lake access where there are kayaks and a canoe for you to enjoy. Paddle along the miles of shoreline scouting for wildlife or try your hand at fishing for bass or walleye. Close by, you will find excellent trout fishing in the Saranac and Ausable Rivers. Trails for hiking and mountain climbing are not far away, and we are just 20 minutes from excellent skiing at the Olympic Ski Center at Whiteface Mountain.

This lovely lodging has new furnishings and is decorated in an Adirondack style and original artwork.
Living Room - cathedral ceiling, log beams and Adirondack style chandelier. Here you will enjoy mountain and lake views. Relax and read in front of the Adirondack style stone fireplace.
Kitchenette- at the end of the living room is well stocked with sink, under-counter refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, toaster, drip coffee maker and more.
Large Bedroom- features a cathedral ceiling and log beams. It has a queen bed where you will wake up to the beautiful view. There is ample storage with a large dresser and walk in closet. The en suite bathroom features a large Swan Stone shower and pedestal sink.
Outside- enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail in the Adirondack chairs on the patio area in front of your lodging. Watch the squirrels and chipmunks scurry about and listen to the chicadees as they feed from the bird feeder. A seasonal gas grill is available for outside cooking. A campfire pit is located at the back of the property, conditions permitting. Canoe and kayaks are at the lake shore.

Wonderful hosts & Fabulous Property

This was our second winter stay at Dick & Mary's wonderful property. It was fun to see the ice palace in Saranac, cross country ski the groomed trails at Paul Smith's VIC, and just relax and enjoy the views of the snow and lake with a fire in the fireplace. Dick and Mary were very friendly and accommodating. The place was stocked with all we needed and more. It's comfortable, clean, cozy, and very nicely decorated.Highly recommended!

“On Franklin Pond”

Hosts Dock and Mary were very conscientious and kind. The unit was well decorated, spotless and you could sit in a comfortable chair by the gas fire and look out at Franklin Pond. Everything was top notch.

Fantastic getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. Dick and Mary were amazing hosts and were very helpful. The property is stunning and we loved watching the birds out of our window, and the lake view, and mountains were spectacular. Perfect Adirondack get away. I loved the hominess and it was decorated perfectly for the region. It was so comfortable. We love the area and will be back.

Perfect Retreat

Beautiful setting and super relaxing. It was a magical stay in a quaint cabin by the lake. The fireplace was perfect for the crisp evenings. Dick and Mary were terrific hosts who thought of mostly everything. Fresh cookies, muffins for our arrival. Fridge had milk and OJ and cabinets had oatmeal and cereal so if we didnt want to leave after arriving we didnt have to. There was coffee, cream and even coca and popcorn. Not just great snacks but we also had a terrific view of the lake. We watched the birds at the birdfeader in the quiet morning soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. We were very pleased and would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend

What a joy!

My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend at On Franklin Pond. We were welcomed warmly to this beautiful spot like we were family with everything we could possibly need plus extra surprises for breakfast, fresh muffins, coffee, juice and more. The cottage is beautifully designed with classic Adirondack decor and many thoughtful touches. We loved reading the great selection of books by the gas fireplace and sitting on the patio to soak in the gorgeous view of mountains and water.. There were kayaks and canoe for our use with paddles and life jackets, a sandy beach for launching and many places to explore. It rained most of the weekend but it didn’t matter a bit. We enjoyed every minute and had the best time ever! Dick and Mary were the most wonderful, caring hosts and I enjoyed talking with them about many things including our common love for the ADKs. I look forward to coming “home” again soon all year round!!

Adirondack Getaway

This was a great place to get away from the city and explore the Adirondack Mountains. Dick and Mary were great hosts and left lots of snacks and treats for us. The house was very cozy with great access to the lake across the way.

Peaceful and restorative—a gem in the Adirondacks

My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing and restorative stay at On Franklin Pond. We spend a lot of time in the Adirondacks but this was one of our favorite longer visits. Dick and Mary are the most thoughtful hosts; their property is well stocked, cozy, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the water and reading by the fireplace. During our time away from the property we hiked and spent time in Saranac Lake. We both look forward to returning again!

Peaceful, Restful, Welcoming

Dick and Mary always impress and deliver beyond expectations. My wife and I stay in many places and I always feel most comfortable on Franklin Falls with Dick and Mary. They maintain the property impeccably. The leave lots of goodies to help you get comfortable and their amenities ensure you're able to enjoy your stay. We hope to be back at the same time next year, and maybe a little sooner if everything falls into place.

The beautiful pictures of this property are accurate! This is a lovely home a little off the beaten path. The owners are fabulous hosts - generous in stocking the refrigerator, coffee pods, etc. We enjoyed so much.

Clean, cozy, and comforting

This quiet, newly renovated, and perfectly decorated with ADK decor getaway has become a favorite of mine. I used to own a home nearby and have been looking for a go-to place for my best friend and I to go to for our hiking/kayaking/fishing trips, and I found a new favorite! I may even come for an anniversary weekend if I can. The couple that owns it are the absolute sweetest people on earth and they give such thoughtful touches all around the place as well as the gardens. Perfect for time away to rest or celebrate.

If we could submit 100/10, we would! My 18 yo son picked this beautiful location and a house by the lake. Mary and Dick are wonderful hosts, provided us with water, wine, delicious snack, and cookies. Also, they have canoe and kayaks, so we had great time on the water. Hiking and good restaurants are around. House and garden are so well maintained and beautiful . We felt like home, only better. Thank you Mary and Dick!

The quintessential Adirondack experience!

The property and its setting had it all: pond, woods, natural landscaping, bird feeders, appropriate room decor, peace and quiet. I felt totally immersed in the Adirondacks. Mary and Dick, just next door, had anticipated and provided for everything I might possibly need or want. I wish I could have stayed an extra day or two to kayak, enjoy the fireplace and sit on the patio to watch the birds and hope for a moose. Maybe, next time!

Truly amazing place to unwind and find peaceful enjoyment in a wonderfully appointed cabin next to water. Being remote provides time for r & r. Or plenty of water activities n trails. Explore nearby hamlets, villages n towns. You will want to make plans to return.

Our fabulous stay at Franklin Pond

The property is well maintained and inviting. The view of the lake and mountains are beautiful. It is extremely relaxing and quiet. It was all that we hoped it would be. We felt the warmth and love that was put into the decoration of the apartment, an Adirondack motif. Having arrived late at night, the treats and light breakfast items provided by our hosts were delicious and greatly appreciated. We very much enjoyed our stay and will readily stay again.

We retired from our jobs in the medical profession in 2008 to move to the Adirondack Mountains where we took a retirement job as live in inn keepers at a historic Great Camp. We found that we loved the Adirondacks and purchased a home and retired from our retirement job.

Having traveled to the Adirondacks many times over the past 20 years we came to appreciate and enjoy the Mountain lifestyle. We fell in love with this property from the moment we first saw it. The view is stunning and we feel so fortunate to be able to live in these beautiful mountains.

What makes this property unique

The Adirondack style of our home and it's location on a beautiful lake with gorgeous scenery, being surrounded by forever wild forest and an abundance of wildlife as well as great access to canoeing, hiking, fishing and winter sports all contributed to our love of this property.
