Little gem in the provence

We stayed a week in Annie her beautiful little cottage. It is situated on a large piece of land, together with the main house where Annie stayed. It has a big pool,which is privat, just for the guests. Annie was very helpfull in all things, concerning the accommodation or things to do/visit. She speaks perfect english, which makes comms easy. The guesthouse has all you need for a pleasant stay and for the real warm weather it has airco. It is situated in the middle of the Provence so if you want to see the area, you will need a car. Marseille is close by and Avignon, Arlès, Salon the provence and Aix-en-provence are all within 1 hours drive and give you the real feeling of what you expect going to southern France. Supermarkets are within 10 min drive. Also private parking behind a fence is nice. All in all we had a great stay at Annie’s and we can recommend it to everybody looking to explore the provence or just to relax at the lovely pool(area). Annie is a lovely host and wants you to feel at home in a cosy environment. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Comme à la maison

Un petit coin de paradis au coeur de la Provence. Voilà comment je décrirais notre séjour chez John et Annie. Tout était parfait, de la maison, aux extérieurs....et que dire de l'accueil d'Annie! Souriante, bienveillante...c'est une personne qui gagne à être rencontrée. Nous reviendrons très certainement.

Relaxing time in the Provence

We had a wonderful time at this lovely place with a fantastic garden and a big pool. First thing in the morning was swimming than having brakfast on the cosy terrace.

Perfect stone cottage in Provence

We -a family of four- had a wonderful vacation. The cottage had all we needed: a big garden with lots of shade, a pool with nice furniture and a private terrasse. The house was well equipted and well suited for a family. I recommend this house for everyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

un magnifique havre de paix

Un séjour bien reposant au coeur de la campagne aixoise... Annie nous a ouvert les portes d' un univers qui fleur bon la provence ... un lieu qui nous a touché énormément par son histoire et surtout qui a une âme ! Nous sommes rentrés nostalgiques. Sehr schönes Anwesen, toller Pool und vor allem sehr nette hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Das quirlige Dorf Calas und die Nähe zu Aix en Provence ( mit dem Bus erreichbar ) taten ein Übriges für einen wunderbaren vierwöchigen Urlaub.

Charming, spacious cottage with great pool & garden access

First of all: We had a great time in this lovely cottage and Annie was a perfect host (though we never met in person)! We loved the pool, the garden, the entire location. Concerning the cottage itself: - The infrastructure is quite comprehensive, and the whole place looks like the owners use(d) it for themselves from time to time. The building resides not far away from the inhabited main house (in contrast to the pool house not visible in the current picture set) in a huge private and gated garden. - Parking is absolutely not an issue here. In fact it is the perfect homebase for trips to all those famous Provence landmarks and places. We used the car mostly, but one time also the train (from Simiane, approx. 10min by car) to visit Marseilles. - WiFi is available and generally works, but don't expect high bandwidth, jitter-free broadband ;) (Cellular reception was good.) But there are other things to enjoy here, and this might in fact add to your relaxation. - One last tip though: better not forget mosquito repellent!

Lovely rural retreat yet only 15m from Marseille airport

The house is in a very large garden with a pool and large pool house. The site is in woodland and like all the properties on the road has lots of well kept space. It is in excellent condition and half way between two villages. Cabries is ancient and mostly on a hill top, whereas Calas has all the bustle of a traditional French village. The owners were incredibly helpful and even booked us a place at a restaurant they were familiar with on our first night. Even though there were only two of us the place could accommodate a family of four in comfort. I would recommend it to anyone

Wonderfully rural

Wonderful property. Everything we needed. Pool was lovely. Excellent communication all the way through. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. It’s in a lovely area. Very rural - nice to go somewhere lee’s “touristy” ... although be prepared to test your French!!

Superbe maison et acceuil au top

Nous avons passé 1 semaine au Recampado. L acceuil par Annie et John est super, très clair, toujours disponible si nous avons besoin d'infos. La maison est très agréable, fonctionnelle, décorée dans un style provençal qui nou plonge dans un esprit de vacances :-) La grande piscine et son pool-house sont idéales pour se reposer et profiter du soleil, avec de nombreux jeux de piscine et d extérieur (matelas, badminton...) laissés à disposition. Petit plus, village accessible à pied depuis la maison, 10min. Nous serons ravis de revenir.

magnifique propriété et tranquilité assurée

Nous venons de séjourner 3 semaines dans cette magnifique propriété , nous remercions les propriétaires de nous faire partager un si bel endroit pour les vacances ! Quel Havre de Paix !!!! C'est un endroit tranquille, beau et très bien entretenu , la piscine est vraiment très agréable , la maison pratique et bien équipée , il ne manque rien aux vacanciers !! Un grand merci à Mme BERENGER pour sa gentillessse et sa discrétion .... La propriété est vraiment très bien située, pleine campagne qui vous assure une tranquilité assurée et les commerces sont vraiment tres proches et les grandes villes également ...idéal pour Tous !!! Bravo et félicitation a vous !!! On se reverra l'année prochaine !!!!!

Vacances partagées

Nous sommes un coupe avec 1 enfant de 3 ans et 1 bébé de moins d'un an. Nous avons séjourné 1 semaine dans cette maison. Elle est telle que sur les photos, simple mais néanmoins relativement bien décoré et agréable. Cependant, quelques points sont à avoir à l'esprit avant de la choisir : - Calas, le village à proximité n'a pas beaucoup d'attrait, - il n'y a pas de lave-vaisselle, - le réfrigérateur de la maison est très petit, il faut utiliser celui du Pool house et le congélateur de la buanderie (pas au même endroit) ce qui n'est pas très pratique, - la mezzanine (où il y a 2 lits d'une personne) n'est pas pas sécurisante pour les petits enfants, - la climatisation : il s'agit d'un climateur portatif qui ne refroidit pas beaucoup et non d'une maison climatisée, - et surtout la maison des propriétaire est à 5 mètres de la location (il faut apprécier la proximité du logeur avec l'éventuelle possibilité qu'il surveille l'utilisation des équipements ...), Les bons points : - la maison est propre et entretenue - la piscine et son pool house sont très agréables - le jardin bien entretenu, - l'endroit est très calme.

en toute simplicitée pour des instants de détentes

endroit calme et paissible idéale pour des familles avec 2 enfants en bas age cherchant la traquilitée et la plenitude pour se retrouvez ensemble et se ressourcez sous le soleil du midi et le chant des cigales.A savoir peux d'activiter sur place genial si c'est ce qu'on veux un peu plus contraignant pour les familles avec jeunes ados.A part ça c'est génial.

Une très belle villa dans un cadre agréable

Nous (moi ma compagne et ma fille de 4 mois à l'époque) avons passé une très bonne semaine de vacances dans la résidence. Elle est très confortable et très bien équipée, avec climatisation, ce qui est agréable. La piscine et le pool house sont modernes et de très bonne taille. Le jardin est très bien entretenu. Nous n'hésiterons pas a y retourner pour profiter des charmes de la Provence!

I grew up there until my fifteens when my parents bought this property. I studied business English/Italian at Aix-en-Provence and business admin in Marseille where I worked for 13 years then moved and worked in England for 7 years, returned to Cabriés in 1999 and have lived in the Languedoc since.
Argentinian Tango, Yoga, travelling and sharing international experiences, also cooking my grandmothers’ Provençal recipes

Why they chose this property

My mother with brothers and sisters spent their childhood and teenages in the property ; my grand-parents sold it in 1962 and my parents bought it back ten years later and lived there since ; we never stopped renovating the houses as we love leaving in an authentic Provençal village
