Welcome to Akumal Villas’ newest rental listing, Casa Papagayo. This gorgeous property, designed by the owners’ architect son, combines modern and traditional Mexican elements in a breathtaking oceanfront setting. It is a short walk to several top-notch restaurants, local dive shops, convenient grocery stores and the best ice cream shop in the center of Akumal.
As you enter the property and make your way up the outdoor passageway, you will first notice the inviting solar powered saltwater pool as well as the large deck with its poolside lounging, dining, and grill area. This will be the hub of activity during your stay.
Consistent with the owners’ commitment to the environment, the property is solar powered, and the local flora in the adjacent lot provide native bird habitat.
Through the large sliding glass doors of the main house, you’ll access the living room and open kitchen/dining room facing the ocean. The views of the Caribbean are spectacular. You will be surrounded by water, with the pool on one side and the ocean on the other. The living room opens up onto another deck with comfortable furniture for sitting by the sea.
Off of the living room is an outside corridor leading to the TV room, which is connected to the lower air-conditioned master suite. (All bedrooms in Casa Papagayo are air-conditioned and feature private bathrooms).
The upper master bedroom suite is accessed via a staircase from the living room. The second floor master bedroom suite will amaze you with its expansive, unbroken view of the Caribbean. The large corridor has bedding to accommodate children on the very large cushioned window seat area.
Also upstairs are two upper lounge decks, one perfect for enjoying cocktails while watching the sunset over the Yucatan jungle, the other, connected to the master bedroom, for capturing moon rises from the ocean, especially if there is a full moon. Here you can enjoy a nap or a good book while on a double lounge bed under a shaded canopy.
Casa Papagayo also features two private casitas on the other side of the pool. The larger casita is a studio suite with a king bed, bathroom, living room and kitchen, perfect for a couple wanting more privacy. The other casita has a bedroom with a queen bed, and another bathroom, for a couple or older children who want their own independent accommodations.
Papagayo is the ideal setting for a multi-generational family or friends that want a private getaway. It is also an ideal place for a couple (or two) to totally bask in complete privacy with all the amenities.
