Sussex Shores Seaview Townhouse - Ocean Block w/ Private Beach Renovated - 2021

Goose Island was completely renovated in '20 / '21 - new kitchen, new bathrooms (3), new flooring throughout the entire house, new composite decking on all 3 levels and fresh paint throughout the house! Goose Island is brighter, modernized, more comfortable and ready to accommodate our family of guests!

Our townhouse (Unit #1 - an end unit) is spacious 3-story townhouse located in Sussex Shores which is the first private community north of Fifth Street and the Town of Bethany Beach. It is within walking or biking distance to town, shopping, and restaurants (less than half mile from town center). Sussex Shores is a quiet, safe and family-oriented community with a private beach, private roads, and off-street parking.

Access to the community and beach is controlled by private security. Because it is a private beach, it is never crowded and has a staff of full-time lifeguards from mid-June through mid September. Once you stay in Sussex Shores, you will forever be spoiled and will never want to return to a crowded public beach!!

The town house is located 75 yards from the dunes and is a 3-story design! The Master Bedroom (Bedroom #1) has a queen bed with full bath en suite. Bedroom #2 has a queen bed. Bedroom #3 has two twin beds. The 3rd floor loft (Bedroom #4) has three twin beds. Three bedrooms are located on the first floor of the townhouse, as well as the laundry area and two full baths. The second level has the living room, kitchen, dining room and full bath. The third level offers an upstairs sleeping area with three twin beds. All three levels have accessible outside decks. In addition, there is an excellent outdoor shower with changing area on the ground floor level!

In addition to the listed amenities, we provide beach chairs and an umbrella for the beach. Weekly Rentals are Friday to Friday, thus avoiding weekend traffic snarls! Maid service (at the conclusion of your visit) is included in the rental fee, as well as the Sussex Shores Beach Association Rental Assessment. There are parking spaces for two vehicles.

Goose Island is Great!

Goose Island is a beautifully decorated, newly renovated, and very clean townhouse located only one block from the beach and within walking distance to town. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and a lovely dining table that can seat up to 8 people. There are sizable decks and sliders off of every bedroom. The beds were very comfortable as was the living room furniture. This house also comes with plenty of good beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach toys, and board games. We enjoyed our week there and look forward to staying at Goose Island again!

Goose Island is Awesome!

I highly recommend Goose Island to anyone looking for a quality rental in Bethany Beach. The kitchen was well stocked with every amenity needed to prep meals for our family. The decor is lovely, creating a warm and comfortable beach feeling. I was a bit concerned about the walking distance to downtown Bethany, but it was no problem at all for my 4- and 6-year-old grandchildren. Access to the private beach was amazing. We had so much room to throw a football and spread out. We quickly became spoiled not having to fight the crowd for a spot near the water! Overall excellent experience!

Perfect week at the beach

We stayed at Goose Island for our first time at Bethany Beach, and we would happily return. The house was exactly as pictured in the listing - clean, well-maintained, more than enough space for 2 families with infants and 2 convenient parking spaces right outside the front door. Access to the private beach is so ridiculously easy (a 30 second walk just down the block) that we went 3x a day. The entrance to the boardwalk is a pleasant 5-10 minute walk away on quiet streets. We mostly did takeout for our meals (plenty boardwalk or boardwalk adjacent options, but about half were closed Mon- Wed during the week of September we were there), and otherwise picked up light groceries at the nearby Giant (10 min drive). From booking to check-out, Art was courteous and professional. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!

Beautiful home away from home

This property is just as lovely as it appears online, and a very short walk to a wide, clean beach. We visited in September and the weather was gorgeous! Lots of delicious meals at area restaurants, too. Can't say enough about this property, and the owner is great to work with, very accommodating. Goose Island is the place to be!

Goose Island was beautifully done from top to bottom and exceptionally maintained. They provided everything for your accommodation, beach chairs, umbrellas & coolers! The bedrooms were perfect and the outdoor shower was everyone’s favorite! The water pressure in all the showers was great! The quick walk to the private beach and downtown is the greatest! Thank you!

Great first vacation to Bethany

This was our first time staying in Bethany and also renting with VRBO. My wife and two elementary age kids had a wonderful time. The owner Art was great through the whole process making it very easy with quick replies to my questions. Location was great, easy couple of minute walk to the beach. Town house had plenty of room even when my parents stop by for a few days. It was nice to have a full well stocked kitchen (only cooked a few meals though), board games, books, and many beach chairs available. The private outdoor shower and hose made sand clean up easy, even for the kids. We had a wonderful time!

Best Spot in Bethany

This spot was absolutely perfect for our family. The house was clean, functional and a great layout. It was great to have beach chairs at the house for one less thing for us to pack. We enjoyed a few nights of cooking in the kitchen with everything we needed. A short walk to the beach was beneficial for little legs and the boardwalk was an enjoyable distance! We loved that this area of Bethany wasn't as crowded and had ample room on the beach. A short walk to the bike shop to rent bikes or to play putt-putt - this was really a great place for all ages. We will definitely rent again!

Great place to stay!

Perfect location! One very short block to the private beach. Townhouse was well equipped and very clean. And it was perfect for just hanging around, with a cozy great room and decks on all three levels. It was also a very short walk to the Bethany Boardwalk and shopping. Can’t wait to see all of the planned updates when we return next year!

We truly enjoyed our week at Bethany Beach, and were so happy to have discovered this great house just a block from the beach! The house was spacious, comfortable and very clean! Located in a quaint little neighborhood made it all the more desirable. The best part about it was the private beach! The owner greeted us and was extremely friendly and helpful!

This is my 3rd positive review over the last 3 years.

Obviously, we are very satisfied with this unit and it's location. It is clean, spacious, airy and light. Very close to the beach and very close to the town of Bethany and all it has to offer. Also, it's centrally located if you want to visit Rehoboth Beach or Ocean City for an evening or afternoon. An excellent, well maintained property.

Lovely beach block townhome.

I loved the location of this townhouse in Sussex Shores, just north of Bethany. Uncrowded beaches are always great. My family has been vacationing in this area for about 20 years now in various houses. I brought my grandchildren including a two year old and he loved it and navigated the steps very well. It’s bright and open. My one and only complaint was the queen sized mattress in the back bedroom; otherwise we might return next year for two weeks again. Thanks Art for your hospitality.

Perfect location, comfortable and homey!

We made a last minute decision to get away to the beach for a weekend in October and were so fortunate to have found such a great place available! It was a perfect location - just a short walk to the private beach and less than a mile from downtown Bethany Beach. Being an end unit, it gets so much light! The bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen met all of our needs and we enjoyed the outdoor deck spaces as well. The outdoor shower was also a great addition after getting sandy at the beach! This is definitely a place I will recommend to friends!
