About this property

SNOW'S LOG CABIN ON LAKE DARDANELLE ON DUBLIN BAY 🐟🦌

AUTHENTIC LOG CABIN: This cabin in located in Dublin, AR, 6.4 miles East of Scranton (15036 East State Hwy 197, Scranton, AR 72863), and adjoins Dublin Park/City Park, which is 2/10 mile (approx. 300 yards) from the cabin, where there is a boat dock and parking for your trucks and boat trailers while you fish. Ample parking for 3-4 trucks and trailers is also available at the cabin. Dublin Park/City Park is on Lake Dardanelle and has excellent fishing, skiing, tubing. and kayaking.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: When you get to SCRANTON, go EAST on HWY 197 for 6.4 miles. The address is 15036 E State Hwy 197, Scranton, AR 72863.At the entrance to the cabin (right-hand side of the road), you will see a GATED ENTRY and an ARKANSAS RAZORBACK rock sign that says "THE SNOW's". (If you get to Dublin Park, you've gone just a little bit too far. Turn around and go back to the first drive you come to.)
THE CABIN was built in 2004 by Bobby Snow (my father), and has a wonderful cedar smell. It is 500 sq ft on the main floor and 250 sq ft in the loft. There are TWO queen size beds in the loft, so the loft will sleep 4 people. If you need additional space, you can sleep on the sleeper sofa (it pulls out). Sheets and pillows are provided. A new deck has just been built off the loft area with stairs leading down.
CABIN has a flat-screen television, DISH Satellite, and a DVD player.
No internet or WIFI. Good cell phone reception for AT&T phones. (We recently put in a cell phone booster thinking it would help ALL cell phone reception; however, it does not help TMobile because there is no signal for it to boost. You can go back up to highway (about 100 yards) or about 1/2 mile down the road to get reception.)
Floors are made of flagstone. There is a spiral staircase going up to the loft.
KITCHEN is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, pots and pans, dish towels, dishwashing liquid, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, salt and pepper, etc. Please DO NOT pour grease down the drain. You can dump it outside in the trees. No washer, dryer, or dishwasher is available. You are responsible for your food and drinks. If you don't want to cook, there is a great little restaurant about 8 miles away called Porky's. There's also great hamburgers, salads, and daily specials at the 4-Way (gas station) in Scranton. They also have LIVE BAIT for your fishing.
OUTSIDE there is a pavilion that includes a gas grill and a picnic table. A fire pit is next to the pavilion for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Front porch includes a cedar rocker swing. Also, there are two hammocks that can be hung between the trees, and one chair hammock that can be hung on the porch.
BATHROOM has a shower (no tub), toilet, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, hair dryer, etc.
We prefer NO PETS inside our cabin. (We've had a very bad experience with that.) Also, other guests may be allergic to animals.
AT THE END OF YOUR STAY...
Put all the dirty sheets, towels, etc. in the bathroom.
Clean up the kitchen and put the dishes away.
Take all left-over food with you or feel free to feed the animals.
We will take care of the trash. Please don't put it outside on the porch. Neighbor's dogs will get into it and will spread it all over.
Make sure lights are off, and fans (including ceiling fans) are off.

Great Weekend Getaway!!
We enjoyed our stay at your cabin. It was very peaceful and cozy. We got in alot of fishing, so the location next to the park was fantastic so that we could launch our boat quickly. If we return back to the area, we will definitely try and re-book the cabin. Thanks.

Snow's Cabin
My boyfriend and I needed a weekend getaway and this cabin ended up being a perfect fit. We got to the cabin pretty late from Memphis, but it was easy to navigate and once we were there it was a great place to unwind and relax. It was a good spot to be able to get to Mount Magazine and Mount Nebo. On our way we hit Petit Jean as well.

Adorable cabin on the lake
The Snow’s have thought of every detail. The cabin was nicely stocked and VERY clean. It was perfect for our family of 3 who were there to hike and fish during fall break. The unique outside picnic table and fire pit area were utilized for most meals. We enjoyed peaceful mornings with coffee on the porch. If we are ever in the area again, I would love to stay at the Snow’s Cabin. What a wonderful experience! Thank you!

Beautiful cabin in the perfect location!
Thank you Ruth and Bobby for the opportunity to spend a wonderful weekend at your sweet little cabin! I just love the place you all have built, and we had so much fun looking at all the cute things you used to decorate! Highlight of the trip was a visit from Ruth who very kindly came to help us get the television going (we were in TV withdrawal). She ended up staying for over an hour laughing and visiting with us. That was great! It was a wonderful place to stay, clean and quiet and very comfortable. Thank you again!!!

Too many ticks and bad customer service
We rented the cabin for one 3 days but only stay 1 day due to false advertisement landlord posted on the site they had internet but when we got there there was none! we needed communication because we had a relative with covid-19 In the hospital, we decided to get a refund for the two remaining days, we try to contact landlord to ask when the refund will be post it in our bank account and no answer from them, bad customer service. If you take kids there make sure you check them for ticks.

Cozy cabin
Cozy cedar cabin will transform you to a world of peace, tranquility, love. It’s the perfect reset button. We only stayed for the weekend but we would have loved to stay there longer. This rustic cabin is the perfect size. You feel the owners love as soon as you walk in as the cedar smell hits you and the rustic appeal really takes you to your deepest happy place! We loved our stay and will definitely look for an opportunity to return!! If you are looking for a place to stay where all you have to do is show up.. this place is it. They have the cabin stocked with everything you need. This cabin is anything you need it to be!! Romantic, cozy, family friendly, or just a solo place to connect to a book, nature etc. The Snows tell the story of the cabin in pictures and a diary and you honestly feel part of the journey by your booking. We read the journal entries of past guest and we gladly left our hearts thoughts for the next guest. We were able to visit Mount Magazine. We fished at the boat doc. We watched 7 deer cross the property one evening. This place is as described and you feel the love of the owners and the love that this cabin was built and intended for. 5 stars across the board.

The Great Escape
This log cabin is the real deal! Immediately walking in you can smell the delicious cedar in the air. The flagstone flooring is beautiful and was also easy to clean (I have little ones) after meal times. I was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen fully stocked with everything you would hope to have for cooking/barbecue/meal times/marshmallow roasts. We celebrated our 4th of July here and watched fire works with everyone at the lake (less than a minute drive) and I think my son summed up our experience best when he said, “This is the best 4th of July ever!” The people in this town couldn’t be nicer or more genuine. The owners, Ruth and Bobby, are incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful with ideas for exploring the surrounding areas. If you are looking for peace and quiet- this little beauty is exactly what you need. At night I would sit outside listening to the woods and deer would walk right past the cabin. The fireflies were also a hit with my son. Of course it is the woods in the summer time so beware of the ticks. (We used deep woods + tick bug spray and shockingly never even had a single one.) It was so nice to be away from urban noise and light pollution! Thank you again Ruth and Bobby for sharing your happy place with us!

Host profile image
Bobby Snow (owner) built the cabin in 2004. He did the majority of the work himself. He even cut the trees for the cabin! He was in the logging business and rock business and has recently retired.
Ruth Snow (wife) couldn't help much in the building process, but she sure had fun decorating it! She worked at POM Incorporated in Russellville for 35 years as their Controller. She retired in 2007 and has learned to live life to the fullest!
We have two married daughters and seven beautiful grandchildren ranging in ages 6-22. We also have TWO great-granddaughter who are 1 and 4! We have been blessed with such a wonderful family, and we have had many good times at the cabin. Needless to say, the grandkids love it, and we have made lots of good memories with them.

Why they chose this property

When you enter the cabin, you smell a cedar aroma that is absolutely wonderful. Every time we open the door, it still smells as good as it did when the cabin was built in 2004. It is so peaceful staying here. I love to lay out on the hammocks and listen to the birds or read a book. I've taken many naps out on my hammock (while Bobby prefers to nap inside the cabin). Bobby enjoys taking his boat out fishing and I like to walk over to Dubin Park and walk around the park, then walk back to the cabin. It's a good little work-out!

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is truly an AUTHENTIC log cabin! . Bobby cut all the trees himself and had them squared and sawed into 20 ft lengths. He put glue between each log and screwed them together with 8 inch leg screws. The square upper window in the living room is made of 1/4" lexan which will never break. He had another guy help him with the handling of the logs when he built the cabin. He installed all the windows and the kitchen cabinets. We purchased the spiral staircase and had it installed. The best thing about our cabin is the CEDAR SMELL. I can't even describe how good it smells when you walk in.
