About this property

On the "Loire à vélo" route, between Loire and Canal Latéral à la Loire

Our cottage was classified 3 *** in 2016 by the Ministry of Tourism.
To have a good time with friends, for family holidays, the cottage welcomes you comfortably in a relaxing site, close to the small port of Marseilles lès Aubigny.
It consists of 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with 2 single beds), a kitchen area open to the living and dining area, a bathroom (shower) with WC.
The decoration is simple and contemporary.
You go directly to the towpath and the lateral canal to the Loire by the stone staircase, at the bottom of the garden. From there, as on the Loire side, you also join the "Loire à vélo" route.
After a bike ride or a walk along the canal, relax in the garden while tasting a Chavignol crottin accompanied by a glass of Pouilly Fumé or a fresh Sancerre.
Golfers will enjoy the 9-hole golf course at St Hilaire de Gondilly or Sancerre.
Riders will find an equestrian center within 15 minutes.
Each getaway will be an opportunity for wine lovers to discover the Sancerre, Pouilly, Coteaux du Giennois or Coteaux Charitois and we will share with you our gastronomic favorites.
You will find bicycle and canoe hire companies at La Charité / Loire.

To discover in the surroundings:
The Cistercian Abbey of Fontmorigny (6 km) whose history is also linked to the development of the steel industry. Each summer, classical concerts are given there.
The village of Cuffy and the canal bridge spanning the Allier, the village of Apremont sur Allier (one of the most beautiful villages in France and its floral park)
The Halle de Grossouvre dedicated to the industrial history of the Cher (designed by Jamy, animator 'C'est pas sorcier').

On the other bank of the Loire, Nièvre side, in Burgundy:
La Charité sur Loire: Word Festival in late May-early June, Blues Festival in Loire in August (15 km)
Nevers: D'JAZZ Festival in Nevers, faience and fine arts museum (17 km)

En charmig oss vid Loire

Vi hade några lugna och sköna dagar i lägenheten som ligger mellan en kanal och Loire. Vi gjorde främst utflykter till vindistrikten, Sancerre och Pouilly-Fume. Värdinnan är supervänlig och tillmötesgående!

Cosy gite with secluded garden

The property was clean and well equipped with short walk along canal towpath to excellent boulangerie and wonderful local auberge by the Loire with tables for outdoor dining. There was also a butcher / charcuterie that sold vegetables along the towpath. Jocelyne was very attentive and generous, allowing us to pick her delicious tomatoes and peaches from her garden!

Bon séjour à Jouet sur l Aubois. Situation étonnante entre le canal et la Loire.Gite propre spacieux et bien équipé. Très joli jardin dont nous n avons pu hélas suffisamment profiter du fait des circonstances qui nous ont amenés à Nevers. Restaurant "auberge de l écluse" à la sortie du pont de Fourchambault à Givry très agréable. Notre hôtesse à été très accueillante et très arrangeante.

Location agréable entre Loire (une petite route à traverser) et le canal latéral(accès direct par le jardin) avec ses pêcheurs et ses bateaux... Simple mais calme et confortable. Jardin clos très zen . Accueil particulièrement sympathique de la propriétaire, attentionné tout en restant très discret. Boulangerie et boucherie à 750 m, ainsi que la charmante écluse de Marseilles. Bonne documentation touristique dans le gîte. Les vignerons et restaurants recommandés, pour ce que nous avons pu en juger, sont à la hauteur.Parking facile.

Een fijn verblijf op het platteland vlak bij de Loire

De woning is netjes en van alles voorzien dat je nodig hebt. Niet extreem luxe, maar dat is ook niet wat wij zochten. Fijn dat er een oven in was. Nu in Covid tijd wilden we niet uit eten. De tuin is heel leuk, gezellig en typisch Frans. Aan de ingang bij de weg, loopt de rivier de Loire en aan de achter kant van de tuin een trap naar het Canal de Loire, waarlangs je meteen kan wandelen. De eigenaresse die boven de gîte woont is heel vriendelijk en bescheiden. Je ziet haar alleen als je dat zelf wilt of even in het gedag zeggen. Wij waren tevreden.

Great for cycling!

We spent 3 lovely days in Jocelyne's gite. She gave us a very warm welcome and went out of her way to help us. The setting is so peaceful - perfect for relaxing, especially if you can sit in the sun in the lovely garden. We cycled on traffic free paths to la Charite and to Apremont - both well worth a visit.

Jocelyne, la propriétaire des lieux, est tout à fait charmante, d'une grande gentillesse !!! Son gîte, aménagé avec goût, est très agréable et nous avons particulièrement apprécié d'y trouver un peu de fraîcheur malgré les fortes chaleurs extérieures. Le jardin est superbe, très agréable et les tomates cerises excellentes accompagnées de quelques feuilles de basilic, le tout cueilli sur place ! Quant à l'emplacement, idéal, entre Loire et canal, apporte un grand dépaysement. Une promenade agréable sur le chemin de halage permet d'accéder à boulangerie, boucherie, et alimentation de base, sans avoir à prendre son véhicule. Un site qui n'a rien à envier à d'autres, parfois beaucoup plus renommés. Les amoureux de la nature, qu'ils soient marcheurs, fans de vélo ou passionnés par la navigation de plaisance, ainsi que les férus d'histoire (beaucoup de châteaux sont à découvrir à proximité) y trouveront leur compte. J'y retournerai sans aucun doute !

Wir haben uns in der geschmackvoll eingerichteten Wohnung mit dem schönen Garten sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage des Anwesens zwischen Fluss und Kanal ist einzigartig! Trotz der Hitze blieb es in der Wohnung, die im Erdgeschoss liegt, angenehm kühl. Den Garten konnte man stets nutzen, er war sowohl mit einer Tischgruppe als auch zwei Liegen ausgestattet. Die Straße hört man tagsüber nur wenig, nachts gar nicht. Jocelyne, die Vermieterin, ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
