Owner refused to communicate with us and would not refund money she owed us.

The property was fine, but the owner would not respond to us to refund money. And the money still hasn't been refunded after several attempts to contact her and weeks have now passed.

Wonderful home in south Ogden

The Hobbit house is a very lovely home in South Ogden 23 minutes from Snowbasin. The home has everything one could need or want including a very large, functional backyard. The home has a large kitchen with everything a chef could need. Master bedroom has a new King size bed that is super comfortable. Guest bed has a double on bottom and single on top. All very comfortable. This was my second time staying here and I will return. Near grocery stores, Costco, liquor store, and sporting goods stores (Amer sport). Traci is a joy and always available, helpful, and very communicative. I recommend this home highly.

The good, bad & ugly.

The house was very clean & the kitchen & bathroom were well stocked & organized. The kitchen had many small appliances. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The property had two trampolines & a foosball table which was great as we were in town visiting my daughter's family including 4 grandkids. The house had a big deck on the end of the house with a BBQ & prep table. They was even some fresh basil growing. The customer service from Tracy was very good. The neighborhood was very quiet. On arrival we could not get either TVs to work. Had to call the owner. She was unable to get the living room TV to work (no TV there during our week's visit) & the TV in the bedroom was unplugged & not near an electrical outlet. The owner got it working with an extension cord. The TV service was some amazon box & was not easy to use. We missed the soccer playoffs!! There was a stereo in the dining room that didn't work. The pretty candles on the dining room table didn't work. Many lights in the house didn't work or the bulbs were burnt out. No instructions on how to use anything including the huge fireplace which we didn't need anyway. The toilet in the bathroom was wedged between the vanity & the washing machine & was wobbly from the floor. My honey used the Jacuzzi tub & had to take a shower afterwards as the jets must have been dirty. No outside garbage can to use just an open small bucket. I did really like all the windows and the wooded back yard. On afternoon saw a deer in the wooded area.

Awesome weekend

I had an awesome weekend stay at the Hobbit House. It is funky and lovely inside, with eclectic styling that does not sacrifice comfort. Traci was a gracious and responsive host. I would highly recommend this place!

Fantastic Four Days at The Hobbitt House

The Hobbitt House in South Ogden, UT was perfect for our needs Mon-Thurs nights and was our first time to rent a vacation home. For four days, we paid the daily $89 plus $10 extra person ($99) and a $25 cleaning fee. A $43 ($10.75 daily) service fee to VRBO was added that I hadn't read about. After I reserved it online, we were confirmed 24 minutes later. It was a one-level, cozy, casual, comfortable, 1400 sq ft, very clean, cottage-style home with 2 bedrooms--1 king, 1 double bed with a strong ladder to a top twin bunk with a strong rail. The one spacious bathroom had XL thick towels, tub/shower, and washer/dryer. Kitchen cupboards and drawers had everything we needed (even included some pantry items and many baking ingredients). There was a Keurig coffee machine with coffee k-cups. We bought groceries and ate here every meal. From the kitchen sliding doors, there is a gorgeous view of the mountains. One length of the house is solid floor-to-ceiling windows in the long dining room, living room, and king bedroom. One day we watched the beautiful snow falling in the wooded back yard. The large solid dining table has 8 chairs. A tray of 5 pillar candles had a remote that made them change colors and was fun during dinnertime. The living room has a leather-like sofa, indoor gas log firepit, foosball, and XL sectional sofa, TV, wifi, and a nice mounted pronghorn antelope. Kitchen and bathroom flooring is nice flat tile. Other rooms have large rugs, runners, and a bit of uneven stone flooring, no wall-to-wall carpeting. Lighting was dim in some rooms, but it was not a problem for us. Just inside the front door is a pretty rock wall feature. There is a wrap-around "boardwalk" with a nice wood deck, gas grill, and padded chairs. You can park in a one-car carport and the long driveway. We opened the sliding doors for fresh air that first day with beautiful weather. There are nice stepping stones around one side of the house. Thank you, Traci, we totally enjoyed our time with family and all the little things you provided like the afghan and fuzzy blanket we used on the sectional as we watched one night of March Madness basketball!

Perfect place

Went for skiing @ two area resorts with my two teenage boys. The place was perfect for this--20-30 minutes drive. Fireplace, sleeping beds for all of us, comfy couch to rest and everything we needed. Kitchen had all the necessities-spices, crockpot, even foil and plastic wrap. Owner was responsive, and pleasant even came to clear driveway of snow in the dark to make sure we could get out. In S.Ogden so if you need to rent skis, get grocs, restaurants are all minutes away.

Cozy and comfortable home!

Overall, we loved our stay at the Hobbit House. It was clean and everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom was provided. Unfortunately, in the master bedroom the mattress on one side sagged and if you try to sit on it you will slide out of bed. Our 3 kids had plenty of room to play and the adults enjoyed the fireplace and mingled in the spacious living room. The Foosball game was great fun for the entire family. The view of the mountains in front of the house is fabulous and grocery shopping is nearby. The owner was always available and we would definitely stay at the Hobbit House again.

Excellent!

Charming property. Exceeded our expectations by far. Larger than we thought it would be. We stayed with our 2 teenage kids, who loved the foosball table. They also appreciated the wifi. Our daughter said she wants to move there! Lovely deck out back to relax and watch kids on the trampoline. So many windows to enjoy all the greenery all around the property. Cute cabin in the woods, just what we wanted/needed. Traci was prompt with communications, made it easy (thank you). Minutes away from everything we needed. We showed our family so they can recommend to others they have visit.

Comfortable, well appointed, convienent location

The house was great. It was clean, comfortable and fully supplied with essentials - no problem locating extra pillows or towels, for instance. Property was beautiful and nicely located. We enjoyed the lushly wooded yard as well as the many nearby sights. Traci was a great host.

Great place to stay!

First of all, the owner Traci is awesome. She's very responsive and helpful. Second, the place itself is really cool. It's tucked away in Uintah on a very quiet lot. It has giant windows on one wall that look into trees, and an awesome gas fireplace. Fully functional kitchen with a Keurig coffee machine (life saver for me). The place isn't new, but it's unique and clean and cozy. I had to travel back and forth from Kaysville to Ogden, and this property is very conveniently located in between the two. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amazing!

Let me start off by saying, the Hobbit House is absolutely amazing. It's charming, clean, 'homey', in a great location and you get a beautiful view of the mountains from the front side of the house. We traveled to Utah from Texas to spend a week with my kids, as they live in the area. They are ages 10 & 12, and they LOVED the house. If the Hobbit House is available when we visit again, we WILL be staying there. Thanks again, Traci! We loved it.

Cozy, quiet and the location was great for what we needed.

This was an adorable house and just the right size for our group- 2 couples and a child. There is one bathroom that has a Jacuzzi tub and the kitchen had what we needed to cook the few meals that we ate there. Traci was very accommodating to our changing time schedule. We hope to stay here again. If you are looking for a place to stay for a skiing adventure- this is a good choice. It is near Weber canyon and you can drive to the upper valley ski areas.

Just what we were looking for

We wanted a rental house near SLC (but not too near) with a fireplace for a decent rate and the Hobbit House was just right. The gas-log fire pit in the center of the house was really nice and we probably used way too much gas because we enjoyed it so much;) Kitchen was well-equipped. The only thing we were missing was a DVD player but after I mentioned it to the owner they dropped off a cable so I could play streaming movies from my laptop on the TV and it worked out just fine. Very nice and simple rental experience for us.

Great stay at a very reasonable price.

My family (3 adults, 1 toddler) stayed here the week leading up to the Wasatch 100 Run. It's located in a peaceful neighbourhood and was the perfect spot to rest up... lots of room for four people and well equipped for making a variety of different types of food. The interior is charming with lots of large windows that made you feel like you are outside. Our daughter loved the backyard, which had a trampoline set up while we were there. All amenities were clean and functioning well. Only minutes away from highways leading into SLC.

Love the roomy and cozy house!

We enjoyed the roomy and cozy house with fully equipped with kitchen and linen stuffs. The neighborhood is quiet. Wish we had some times to spend outside to enjoy the greenery. Thanks Traci for her hospitality. We'd love to come back again, hopefully next year.

Perfect for our trip

This was a perfect property for our trip. It is a quiet neighborhood right against the mountains and close to everything including downtown Ogden, Layton and Ogden Valley. Traci was so great, even agreeing to let us stay an extra day and half when our flight was cancelled.

Hobbit House

Location, location, location! Perfect for Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, literally around the mountain. I spent every night in front of huge fire pit reading or watching my Ipad. Close enough to a few restaurants in Ogden as well, Roosters Brewery was our favorite, the wings are amazing. My son and I really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Traci!

Great stay for a mountain getaway.

Wonderful experience. Wish this property was ours. An injury at the resort had us spending more time at the property than planned. We enjoyed that time greatly. The fireplace is fantastic, as well as all the windows and lounging space. It would have been nice to know the television was not set up for service, we would have brought our chrome cast. Other than that we would love to stay again.

Cozy, clean, great layout, great hospitality, and great location!

This was a great home base for our get away trip! I traveled with my husband, teen daughter, girlriend, and 2 dogs. There is no fence for the dogs but we had their run cables so it kept them in check. The living room fireplace is the GREATEST! Traci was very helpful in making sure we settled in quickly and had lots of tips on which spots were best for snowboarding. Super close to Snowbasin and Powder Mountain. The house was so cozy I wanted to spend more time there. We loved the Foosball table, games, and all of the windows. We didn't get to see the deer but we saw fresh deer poo! I think we wake too late for them. Great home, great price, I hope we get to stay here again! Thank you Traci!

Excellent place!

I was able to book the Hobbit House on short notice. Traci was very accommodating and even allowed me to come and see the place beforehand. Upon arrival, the house was very clean and inviting and she had left clear and simple instructions for the fireplace and the internet. The fireplace was a great feature...I slept by it every night of my stay. The house fit me and my family very easily and we were all comfortable. I look forward to renting this place again.
