Old Peterson House

Our host was very friendly and kind. The place was not very clean and quite cluttered with lots of personal items even outdated food in the fridge. There wasn’t any room for the things we brought for our family in the kitchen and in the bedroom closets. Location was great. Walking distance to town which is quite charming. If you dont mind staying in someone’s very lived in house, this place is for you.

Location Location Location!!!

The property was clean, well stocked with everything you would need and is conveniently located a short distance from town and ski resort. Very homey! You can get to town by walking or just a short drive. Loved Ellicottville.

Lovely home with character!

My friends and I had such a great time at the Peterson home. Paul was such a great host. He made himself available for any issues (not that we had any) and was very kind and friendly. Would recommend staying here anytime. And super close to town and the mountain.

It’s our second stay in this cozy home and we loved it !

Great value for your money, waking distance from restaurants in town, and really close to the slopes. And we were created with a nice treated wine!!!

Worked out well for our group.

The place was very comfortable and close to town and holiday valley. The owner was responsive and easy to deal with. It's old, as stated in the description, and not fancy, but everything functioned well and it had all required amenities. We'd definitely stay again.

The house is quaint and clean. Lots of old treasures

We had a great get away with our older kids. Unfortunately very little snow but we did enjoy the porch on our 72 degree day in February!

Great location - Close to Town

This property is great if you're looking to be close to town. It's also a 5 min drive from Holiday Valley if you are planning on skiing. The place was nice a warm for us on our ski weekend. Easily fit 3 couples. Great dining room for games and eating. Perfect size for all of your needs. The pictures and description are accurate as well. Great value for what you get here! I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a weekend getaway to Ellicottville. The owner is very friendly and very easy to work with as well.

Very Convenient Location - In Ellicotville - 5 min drive to Holiday Valley

This property is great if you are looking for a house in walking distance to Ellicotville Brewery, downtown and 5 min drive to Holiday Valley. Home has all the amenities to make yourself comfortable. We used the LARGE Crockpot to bring lunches to the lodge at Holiday Valley. We cooked dinners and the Large Dinning room was plenty big for all 10 of us (2 families). Home was very affordable over the Holiday Weekend and Paul was super responsive and friendly (traded emails and talked on phone and text messages).

Great stay

Description and pictures of property are accurate. We loved the fact that we could easily walk to the downtown area. Really enjoyed the porch and outdoors-felt like a country retreat(we stayed in August). The owner contacted us right away with tips and information.

Exactly as described and expected

The owner of the property had great dialogue with me before, during and after our stay at The Old Peterson Place to ensure our experience was enjoyable. For those looking for a cozy little ski house this is the place for you. I would say the only disadvantage would be that it is not walking distance to the slopes. However, it is walking distance to the village and more importantly the Ellicotville Brewery and bar/restaurant area. We would most certainly stay here again. Thanks!

Decent accomodation close to town

The property did what we needed it to, and the location close to town makes walking out for dinner (and avoiding hunting for parking) easy, as long as the night isn't too cold. We knew that there was just one bathroom before we went, so weren't surprised, and eight people managed by keeping showers quick. We had some trouble getting up the driveway due to ice, but the owner had it plowed when we requested it, and that plus some sand allowed us all to get up. All in all, it was perfectly decent accommodation at, for Ellicottville, a decent price.

Homey mountain home

This home was exactly as it was described on VRBO. It is a homey ski home just outside of town and easily walkable into the village. The house is just where the side walk ends going out of town. It is a half a mile walk to the brewery and maybe 5 minutes to the slopes via car. There aren't any frills here. Most of the furniture is antique and the kitchen and bathroom (1 full bath) are not updated...but again, it was exactly as described and as the photo's showed. We were not expecting any different. If you prefer updated properties that are only used for rentals then this isn't a good fit for you. If you are looking for a cozy, well lived in home that is convenient to town and the slopes then this is a good fit! The owner leaves some of his personal things there so it feels like you are just visiting a friends house. The most important thing for us was that this home is dog friendly!!! Pro's: Dog friendly, location to town and slopes Cons: Would worry about children or anyone with mobility issues having to use one of the upstairs bedrooms(old home = steep stairs) however, there is one small bedroom downstairs; one bathroom was fine for the two of us but will be a problem with more that 4 people; TV is very small. Overall, I would recommend this property and will stay here again due to the convenience and it being pet friendly!
