The property was as described. It was very spacious and easily accommodated our 14 people. The kitchen was well-stocked. One odd thing is that there are enough paper products for several days, but then you are responsible for additional toilet paper and paper towels after the initial provisioning. Jessica, the manager, is extremely helpful!I would stay there again!
We tried to have owner respond to us via messenger to solve issues regarding the home but no response. Property was used for a month by another party, and they left it a ungodly mess, even with 2-3 people cleaning 6 hours we were left with huge amounts of bugs (hundreds, and we do have experience in Hawaii so it isn't lack of knowledge), dirt and filth, broken doors and spend much of our time the first day cleaning so we can cook. Huge amounts of trash which lead to ants and flies inside and out. Fridge was filthy, water leak upstairs and bowing into lower room ceiling. Property manager is very kind and apologized. BUT we were let in 1.5 hours late and 1000 worth of groceries were spoiled we had picked up with ice but in the 81-degree weather the 1.5 hours spoiled all perishables the day before thanksgiving. But to note they were in the house (didn't knock) to clean before checking out day we left. Upstairs door did not shut so bugs and animals came in, the hot tub didn't work- goggle wouldn't work to do so, we had to add extra fans and sheets as they were horribly stained, and two beds had holes. For a house that was 6900 for 5 days it was not represented in this fashion. We expected the noise & people from the park and outdated due to the other reviews this though was not even close to ok experience, and we are a really easy group.
We had several cousins come to island to visit, and this was the perfect property. Most days no one wanted to go anywhere because there was just no need! Right on the water, beautiful snorkeling, comfortable, room for everyone to spread out. Hope to do again!
The ocean views, sunsets & sunrises from this home are breathtaking.
The home was able to accommodate all 10 of us comfortably. The views from this home were gorgeous! The constant sounds of waves lullabied you to sleep each night. Sunsets & sunrises were breathtaking! They are not kidding about the insects, lizards and mongoose, they are everywhere! Make sure to close all doors when sleeping or leaving for the day. There is no a/c in the main house, but temps gets cooler at night. Linens/furniture could be updated, but overall satisfied with the week long stay there. Owner might need to mention that part of park grounds across street are sacred to locals. We were exploring back area of park and accidently entered sacred ground, there were no signs indicating this, and was yelled out by a few locals. (We were forgiven, thankfully) Jess was very helpful and gave us some good advise of places to see. Save your chicken bones, she feeds the eels each night (pretty cool!)
I would first like to say that Donna and Gary were great to work with. We held a wedding here and I could not have been happier. Everyone that stayed at the home loved waking up to the ocean. I had no clue there was an air conditioned room which was amazing for the day of getting ready for the wedding. Perfect bookshelf for my makeup artist to place everything and it was right next to a window for natural light. Our wedding did get rained out but the house was big enough we could hold everyone inside! There are geckos and bugs in the home. However if you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you. And the last 3 days there we didn’t even see them! The house next door has a great little spot to hangout which was perfect when we wanted to snorkel and kayak but be away from the crowded beaches and reef. Beds were comfy and kitchen had every amenity. They were just missing a kitchen aid mixer ;) but they did have the old school mixer. Really great spot just outside of Kona.

Amazing View/Location with worn down interior and amenities
A family of 10 stayed at the house for 12 days. The home is spacious and the layout beneficial for a larger party (everyone had their own space but their was ample room to play games, eat and enjoy each others company. It's hard to beat the location right on Kealakekua Bay. The views, sunsets and sounds of the ocean are stunning. You share the kayaks and beach gear with the other housing units (walk to the house next door to borrow them). We found the outdoor shower delightful and efficient for cleaning off snorkeling/scuba equipment. The owner and on site hostess were very responsive with any questions/needs. Snorkeling and diving right outside the house was a plus and the 20min kayak over to captain cook monument was enjoyable! The house has a lot of critters (rats, cockroaches, flys, geckos, etc...). The gas grill has seen better days as has the kitchen ware, beach gear and beds/linens. Small improvements would go a long way to bring the house up to the ambiance of its surrounding area. The house sits at the end of Puuhonua rd which receives a lot of visitors during the day and night (there were folks partying in the parking lot outside until late in the evening and individuals/grounds keepers up early in the morning with leaf blowers). Overall we enjoyed the exterior of the home the most and got lost staring into the bay each evening at sunset.
Beautiful spot on the bay. Great location to stay and chill and convenient to surrounding places to visit. Very much enjoyed by our six family members. House readily accommodates many more - very spacious. Gracious host and caretaker as well. Ready access to the bay for snorkeling and kayaking. Lovely.
Absolutely loved our time as a family in this beautiful home! Mornings on the lanai watching the dolphins and whales. Afternoons snorkeling, evenings watching the sunset and nights under the Milky Way.
Here for the Kona Ironman World Championships with my family of 10 people. Incredible place. Swam with dolphins
Just perfect !!! Captain cook is the place to be and this place is the most amazing house in the area.
Very open spaces. Large and spacious. Incredible views !!!!
Just perfect. Thanks you

A great rental for our group of 8 adults and 2 children
This home was perfect for our group of 4 couples and 2 children. The bedrooms were separated enough for everyone to have some privacy, and the kitchen, dining and living room were large enough for the group. There was ample room on the outdoor deck as well as the deck by the ocean. The two bedrooms at the north end of the house were separated by a court yard from the home. One room had a single queen bed, and the second had three beds. They did have to share a bathroom, but both had ocean views. The very large bedroom above the garage had 5 beds, a large bathroom with a walk in shower and a washer and dryer. This room has ocean views and access from inside and from the deck and was a perfect setting for the family with children.
The fourth bedroom was on the south side off the garage and had a queen bed, a sofa bed and a small kitchen area. This room had the outside bathroom and the outdoor shower, and while the room was very private, and had the only air conditioning, it did not have an ocean view. The outdoor shower was not private and was a little uncomfortable taking showers during the day.
There is a second laundry facility and two extra refrigerators in the garage. You can get one vehicle in the garage, and there is parking for one or two vehicles outside, but you may have to move vehicles if you have three. We had two vehicles and could easily get either vehicle out. Everything you need is in the house from hair dryers and beach towels, to all the kitchen items you will need.
The location on Kealakekua Bay and having the ocean kayaks was great. We saw the dolphins daily, the manta rays and sea turtles were common, and a hump back whale visited during our stay in early December. There are literally hundreds of different reef fish if you enjoy snorkeling and off shore fishing.
If you have an issue with bugs and critters, this may not be the place for you. It is impossible to keep bugs out of a home in this climate and location; and while they do have bait out, you could experience the occasional live or dead rat. You will have gecko's in the house, and the mongoose will methodically check all the doors and windows to see if they can find a way in. We enjoyed the mongoose and the gecko's, and the bugs and the dead rat were not a problem for us. If you are from northern climates, and like to sleep in a cool room; the lack of air conditioning may be a problem for you.
We loved our stay and we are coming back!

Six days with the family and the dolphins
I loved this trip--our 'home' was at the end of the line; private and mostly quiet. There was plenty of space for all of us; kitchen, bathrooms and laundry all worked fine. Lots of towels helped! Loved sleeping to the sounds of the ocean.
Negatives? maybe could use a few more fans for the house--the bedrooms got pretty warm...also the hot tub was in a great location but the heat was set too high and we couldn't really use it comfortably.

A stunning home in a glorious location was perfect for the occasion
The house had everything we could possibly need. The waterfront location is just magnificent and there was plenty of space for 10 of us. The only negative was a rat problem which we dealt with and did not let it spoil our stay- it is the tropics , after all!

Beautiful location! We had a great stay...
The location is perfect. The house is bigger than we expected. The views of the bay were great. Saw dolphins of multiple occasions. Great sunsets. The snorkeling was amazing too right in front of the house. The furnishings were nice and vast. We also liked that they had kayaks for us to use. Highly recommend kayaking around the bay and to go to the monument (but if possible do so before the tour boats arrive). The only downside was the absence of air conditioning. One room had a window AC...but most rooms didn't. It was particularly hot (hotter than normal we were told) when we were there...so maybe not necessary for most times of the year. Also, we seemed to have a persistent gardener out front each morning leaf blowing or chain sawing. We were out and about most days...so we got around this but you may want to check when you reserve. Overall we really had a great time and enjoyed the property. (p.s. also the owner was very accommodating to help us watch the PPV fight on cable...thank you!)

Beatiful House and location!
I stayed and actually got married at this amazingly beautiful house in 2012. The pictures definitley do not do it justice. It accommodated myself and my now husband, a few friends and family easily with plenty of space. Such a beautiful place with easy access to captain cooks for snorkeling, wonderful views, great deck for lounging and enjoying the hawaiian weather. We plan on returning in 2017 for our 5 year anniversary and hopefully renting this home again.

The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful property. Our family of nine from three states thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful location. We swam with dolphins in the bay (our vacation highlight!)on several mornings and loved hearing the pounding surf every evening. The property is secluded enough to enjoy privacy but close to public areas. A wonderful vacation property!!

Hale Naia is a most astoundingly beautiful property. The pictures don't do it justice - you are right on the water with great snorkeling, swimming, and a luxurious hot tub and tide pool. Spinner dolphins! Kayaks! Paddle to Captain Cook. Open and airy, it is a great house, perfect for a big group and for kids. Highly recommended and we'll be back for sure.
